  • Man oh man, what the hell they are doing with dogfood. On youtube there are more movies.

But my dalmatian dog doesn`t get petfood since 2 months.

    Dogfood is crime.

  • What the and Who the hell is a "pet food expert"?

  • Ha, they show the protein meal but unlike the other ingredients, they don't name what it is. The truth is too disgusting.

  • This is why I don't feed my dog dogfood because this is nasty My dog only eats human food

  • Best solution I can come up with: make your own food or feed raw! And if you are changing your pets food or getting a new pet PLEASE do your research about food and the pet itself!!

  • I FEED MY DOGS MEAT ONLY; NO RICE , WHEAT , CARROTS OR OTHER SUCH CRAP!

  • This is disgusting, just goes to show the majority of USA pet owners care as much about their pets health as their own :s

  • These are not even half of the ingredients an I'm already grossed out...

  • they throw in dead cats and dogs into the pet food O_O?

  • They forgot the chicken legs and heads they ground up into pink goo D: this video is sugar coated!!

  • Corn Soy and wheat are the worst things for your dog. chicken and beef are great they should be the first in ingredeance list. if it says chicken then its the wait before cooked if it says "chicken meal" even better its the waight after being cooked. chicken looses 80% of it weigh after being cooked

  • hey retard, you forgot the part where they throw in other dead cats and dogs.

  • It's probably not because there isn't meat in the kibble, but because there are probably ingredients they don't want to metion. For example, Animal digest, which is made from pieces of roadkilled and euthenized animals. And then bieng sprayed with flavors (probably artificial) and fat (coming from unkown resources.) And then with the addition of the corn, wheat, and cereals, probably soy in there too. Then at 2:15 she comments "apitizing for the pets, that is". Umm, is it food?

  • who wants to taste test?

  • very very very bad for your dogs

  • Wow, Vegetarian Dog Food!!!

    Who would've guessed.

  • Wow this looks like an absolutely terrible dog/cat food. No meat, wow. Most good dog foods have meat/meat meal for the first 4 or 5 ingredients.

  • "Pet food experts say that dogs and cats prefer food with a fattier content and a combined meat and cereal formula over just cereal alone"...

Carnivores preferring meat over cereal? HOLY SHIT, WHO KNEW?!

  • @cheshirecat14 NO! Carnivores love meat? NO! it can't be!

  • thumbs up if u came here to see if "how its made" is lying about how they make cat and dog food.

  • They also advertise as "Chicken and barley" or "Beef and carrots" so where's the meat? That's false advertising buddy...

  • Consumers have been conned into believing this rubbish is what our companion animals want and need... for God's sake, dogs, and especially cats, are carnivores! Biscuits have NO place in their diet!

Slightly contrary to seektherapy says, the major ingredient is actually corn-based. Meat (if you can call rendered remains of dead, diseased and dying animals meat!) comes quite a way down the list.

  • What happened to meat as the first ingredient?

  • wheres the beef?

  • Also corn and grain is not good for you dog, neither is flour.

  • I bet you half the people would stop feeding their dogs some brands of pet food if they find out what meat meal and meat by products really are.

  • WTF why does no one believe me when I tell people about this!?!?People tell me its for dogs and human food is bad for them and dog food is good for them?? Why am I treated like a retard whenever I mention this to people with dogs?

  • I used to eat cat food when I was a kid

  • It looks disgusting, but did you ever see what dogs and cats will eat on their own?

  • Haha if it's true that dog and car food is different, why is it that both my cats eat my dog food and vica versa?

  • @WisdomIsEternal

Dog's will often eat dry cat food because it has more protein. This is also why some dogs eat cat poop, not because they're just being gross. However, eating cat food isn't ideal because it is too acidic for them. I don't usually see cats eating dog food though. If your cats do that they probably just prefer the flavor of the dog food.

  • I'd hate to see how wet food is made. It's process is about as similar as hot dogs.

  • Yuckk!!!! I fed my three kittys corn beef nd patatoes nd carrots nd Irish soda bread for st Patricks dayy

  • Funny how they don't mention "bone meal," "meat meal," and "protein meal." Until @ the end I thought this was a cat and dog vegetarian video, lol. Talk about paid advertising.

P.s. She forgot to mention all the preservatives and chemicals, also

  • @arvaew "Meat meal" is questionable. But if they stated "chicken meal," "buffalo meal," "duck meal," then it's fine and it's just that, chicken, buffalo, duck, etc. The worst part is their mention of corn kernels. Dogs aren't naturally eating corn. Although preservatives are used, there are many holistic brands that use safe alternatives. All in all, I just want to say that kibble shouldn't be seen as crap but people have to be careful choosing their brands. Kibble CAN be a well balanced diet.

  • Cant believe they act as if this shit is good for your animals. Ive never encountered a dog or cat that eats corn or wheat.....unless you feed it this kind of garbage. Funny thing is, they also put the same animal by products like Tallow (lard) in soap and cosmetics and shit....but the truly nasty crap ends up in these kind of doggy foods.

  • Hello , i 'd would like to open a dog factory food and i need a dog nutritionist to help me with the receipes. Thank you very much.

  • stop feeding your pets corn

  • Corn, and cereals are not good digestible proteins which over stresses the liver and kidneys of our pets, these grains are also allergens for many pets. Oh and that rancid fat they spray on to make it "tasty" is full of free radicals, of course they stop the fat from becoming more rancid they add BHT, BHA and ethoxyquin. Ethoxyquin was developed as a pesticide/herbicide in 1950 and has been used as a rubber stabilizer. To bad the Discovery Channel forgot to mention that.

  • I just slaughter the homeless and feed to my dog. Best thing for the homeless and fresh meat for the dog.

  • B.A.R.F diet is the way to go. stop this dog abuse!! not only is raw food around the same price or less but it is just way better for them than that garbage!!! it just take about 15 minutes to prep a weeks worth or even 2 weeks worth of food for them..

  • Wouldn't feed my animals that rubbish. Raw organs, muscle and bone is the best way. You know what? I spent alot of money buying expensive hypo-allergenic dog foods for my dog. I thought i was giving him the best money could buy, all that happened was hehad a dull coat, seizures up to every two weeks, red staining, smelly breath and teeth started to go yellow at under 1 years of age. I put him on a raw diet and his seizures are non-existent, no red stains, full of energy and pearly white teeth.

  • no meat?

  • Mmmm... yummi

    Some crap different packaging...

  • Feed that shite to your dog and it's animal abuse IMO

  • @silverfoils Kibble can be healthy for pets but it depends on what you buy. Obviously, supermarket brands are crap.. Grainless is one way to go but you can compromise. I use Merrick's Wilderness Blend and it lacks corn which is obviously something that dog's don't eat naturally -- it's main ingredient is buffalo while the water content lost is made up by other meat-based meals (actual meat without the water content). When I have the chance, I'd recommend Orijen or Wellness Core.

  • @iflippy Hi. Is the meat cooked in the kibble you are recommending? I've yet to see a wolf or dog cooking a meal. BARF or RAW is the best way to go for your dogs wellbeing. They need veggies (paste & raw) as they eat the stomach contents of their prey, meat and 30% should be bone. Great books available - 'Feed your dog a raw meaty bone' is one example. Your dog will love you and be much healthier and live longer. Vets bills will be reduced. Best wishes.

  • @silverfoils Obviously a raw diet's going to be the best for dogs. But I'm just defending the statement that kibble isn't detrimental to a dog's health if it's the right one. Just because some of the nutritional value are lost through cooking, it's still made up through other ingredients. Either way, I am sure that the appropriate kibble product can still be a well balanced alternative to BARF.

  • @iflippy Hi. Thanks for the conversation. I think we often like to think we are doing the right thing, but at the same time we want it to be cheap and convenient. I think terms like 'balanced' and 'complete' are just used for marketing purposes. The criterior for a dog food to be able to call itself 'complete' is very low. I can't just find the info on this. Eating kibble must be boring for the dog. Just give your dog a couple of chicken wings (raw) and see how much they enjoy them. Regards. B

  • This video is sugar coated. This video forgot to mention one major ingredient, cat, dog and slaughter house rendering product.

  • @seektherapy70 Yes! Exactly.

  • @seektherapy70 Thank God somebody mentioned it! Thanks!

  • 400 g?? are you kidding me..?

  • If they sell it in 3kg bags or even smaller it is probably one of the more expensive types. It didn't say where they get the fat that they spray onto the biscuits. Ever seen Soylent Green?

  • @Sciencebox2010 You mean "Pet food is pets!" This is true. I urge pet owners to check out TheTruthAboutPetFood (dot)com, Catinfo (dot) org, TracieHotchner (dot) com, books & info by vet & pet food industry expert Elizabeth Hodgkins - help pets live longer, healthier lives by learning more about dog & cat nutrition.

  • @twocentsCanada Not all dry food are made in this manner. In short, you have to pay attention to questionable ingredients listed such as "meat meals" or [insert meat] byproduct. Etc.

  • @Sciencebox2010 If you could post a good copy of the documentary, "Pet Food: A Dog's Breakfast", that would be awesome. In Canada, we can watch it online on the CBC (dot) ca site under TV.

  • @twocentsCanada Sorry I don't have access to a copy

  • Won't be buying that brand of dog food any time soon. :-P

  • interesting - doesn't appear to be much nutritional content in these bags.
