I've been a fan of Keith Olbermann since 2007. The best Special Comment he has done on Countdown. Honest, emotional, and important. Keith Olbermann deserved his GLADD award and I believe that Countdown With Keith Olbermann is the best news show on television. He is an amazing journlist and I want to be great like him.

I've been a fan of Keith Olbermann since 2007. The best Special Comment he has done on Countdown. Honest, emotional, and important. Keith Olbermann deserved his GLADD award and I believe that Countdown With Keith Olbermann is the best news show on television. He is an amazing journlist and I want to be great like him.

I think you missed the point they didn't have that right until 4 judges went against the voice of the people and gave it to them for a whopping 6 months so had it not been for the judges nothing would have been taken from them. And they don't have that right in most states and over half the states have constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage!

Also, for those who want to know why he compares the ban on gay marriage to slavery back in the 19-something or other. Back then, people found it disgusting for slaves to marry, for PROPERTY to marry--for god dammit, BLACK PEOPLE to marry. Now, gay people are cornered into that place. Is it because of your insecure feelings that you demand that gay marriage shouldn't be allowed? Is it because you want to be superior that you allow that to be banned? To allow a human right be stolen?

Here's a perfect question: Why do we follow tradition? It's tradition to not allow gay people the same rights to officially unify themselves? And for those who don't want gay marriage in their state...what is it that makes you feel that way? Are you absolutely revolted by the idea simply because you were RAISED TO THINK THAT WAY? Religious beliefs, or simply because to YOU, it looks weird because it's different? I agree with Olbermann on his words completely.

Why do we follow tradition?? Tradition is what formed our union to begin with. Tradition forms the pillars of this glorious country, and over time, it continues to be perfected. The concept of marriage was never meant to be tampered with or given a definition overhaul. The idea is to build upon tradition and perfect it (civil right movement), not sneer at it (gay marriage). On this issue, the majority has it right! Massachusetts is that way ----->

You don't have a right to say get over it when you aren't experiencing the direct conflict :[ Please think about that, it's EXTREMELY easy to tell people to get over their rights being taken away when you aren't the victim.
Olbermann may not be one of those victims, but at least he's got the decency to voice out an opinion , instead of just accepting what he disagrees with.
That attitude is what helps people grow and change.
