Its not scenes from the holocaust---its a scene from the 1935 German documentary "Triumph of the Will." I think the video is pretty compelling. In Elliott's song, he repeats "everything means nothing to me" which, I think, is being paralleled to what was an incredibly hopeless and nihilistic period in human history. Nice job.

well no, i wouldn't say this was in bad taste. i found the song to reject that tendency to celebrate the present by connecting it to some romanticized past. nazism is an example of that tendency. and this video with this song can say something of our political situation. there will be no change, no we can't, and everything means nothing to me.

At first glance, this appears to be the opposite of what it really is. To understand an artist such as ES, you really need to live the same perspective or at least see it from their shoes, then the true meaning is apparent. This is the case with most of Elliotts work and the reason why 90% of sheeple see it as depressing, to the downtroden though, a totally opposite reality and meaning becomes apparent, and the strength, positivity, & bearing of his soul for others benefit is there for all 2 see

Its not scenes from the holocaust---its a scene from the 1935 German documentary "Triumph of the Will." I think the video is pretty compelling. In Elliott's song, he repeats "everything means nothing to me" which, I think, is being paralleled to what was an incredibly hopeless and nihilistic period in human history. Nice job.
