I just posted a video response from a song I recorded called highway patrol.I used audacity to overdubb the instruments and vocals. It is a great program, easy to use.My version of this song is somewhat lame but I wanted to let you hear the final mix using audacity.
thank you for this tut, I just downloaded my copy from download dot com and really love it. It dose make a person sound like a choir or pro singing. Thanks again and I will be loading my very first multi-track very soon.
i have a problem with audacity and it really bothers the multitrack thingy...when i record the first track and listen back to it..its fine alone..but when its playing back while im recording the next track,it starts to have glitches and the outcomes of the mix is terribly a mess...what the hell is wrong?..x(
Does anyone know how to do the hardcore stuff that can be done with CoolEditPro aka Adobe Audition? I need to be able to automatically repeat tracks on a channel, envelope the volume and channel bias, etc. with minimum 8-10 tracks?
If you do, please post youtube links like watch?v=..... Thanks a lot.
question dude when i do my first track of recording its perfect of volume and sound is good but when i record my SECOND track its volume is MUCH quieter.
So my first is normal of volume and the other not why is that?
Great tutorial - makes me confident to give it a go as a ham-fisted acoustic guitar player - way worse than you - but would appreciate if you did a tutorial in hooking your instrument to the computer in your own friendly inimitable stylee.
Great tutorial. Very helpful. Now I just need to know where the setting is that prevents the previously recorded track from being ping-ponged to the new track you're recording as your recording the new track. I laid down the first track but when I overdub a new part, the track I'm playing along with is being recorded to the new track along with the new information. Help?
@AceOfHeart2012 - Try listening through headphones, that will shut off the speakers when you are playing into a mic, but you can still listen to the result.
Great video, but when I try recording something with Audiocity theres a delay between what Im playing and whats coming back through the speakers. Any suggestions?
I've got a question, I recorded a track with my bass and now I want to record another bass track while the other one is playing, the record tracks while others are playing is checked but my bass isn't getting picked up. After the first track is done playing my bass is being picked up again. I dont understand
This has absolutely nothing to do with multitracking. Multitracking is when you record multiple inputs at once, which cannot be done in Audacity it seems.
@Agentbromsnor Well, you can look up the definition of multitracking if you wish and I am sure Les Paul and the Beatles would disagree with you as well. While multiple inputs is one way of multitracking, the tracks do not have to be put down the same time. Thanks for the comment.
@Agentbromsnor Dunno, but atleast I can record 10 inputs at once with my Presonus Firestudio Mobile. And I'd agree with @Parksart that this is also multitracking.
@Agentbromsnor Actually, multitracking is the art of recording multiple tracks SEPERATELY. Not at the same time, you PLAY all of the tracks together at the same time, but not record.
@Agentbromsnor thank you for publishing this comment. i almost wasted my time watching this
do you know what you need to be able to record individual tracks simultaneously? like 2 separate mics at once? i've been researching this and came to nothing
@KINGAudioProductions To my knowledge there is no free recording software that supports this. With regular USB you can record two mics at once, but for more mics I would suggest getting firewire support if your computer doesn't already have that. I personally use Propellerhead's Record in combination with Gearbox from Line 6 to record the input of my Line 6 Toneport. All you have to do in my case is select "mic 1 & 2" from the source list in Gearbox and set up the tracks.
Great tutorial, thank you! Just downloaded the Beta version of Audacity, 1.3.13, as the program crashed every time I tried to record on Windows 7. They have redesigned the Preferences page, and I can't find "Play other tracks while recording a new one." I assume that's what enables you to hear the first one while recording the second one. Any ideas? Thanks.
your the first i seen that Multi-track the write way i seen people all the time record and save than pall the tracks back and line it lol i have to use Audacity for now my good pc took a crap and on a weel pc so i had to down grand i use adobe 1.5 butt i neeed to ask do they have good plug ins and vst for Audacity for like more filters you like so you can edit the vocals more
@hto1971 Thanks for the compliment... To my knowledge, some vst plugins work and some don't... I'm sure there is a website with a list of what works and doesn't but I don't have it in front of me at the moment..
great tutorial, quick question though: when I record, my audio always seems to get off-beat, thus taking the music off tempo. Is there any way to fix this?
@policon93 It's just basic screen recorder software. I think Camstudio is free and will do it. I was using a demo of Camtasia on this. Thanks for watching!
NICE TUTORIAL , can you help me with a problem related to multitracking :
when I try to record a lead guitar to a 2. track while listening to the 1.track(backing track) it records the backing track AND the lead to the SECOND track
i checked the "Play other tracks while recording new one" .
@wrathchild1111 You most likely are recording the "wave out" instead of "mic" which would make it record everything coming out of the soundcard. Make sure you have mic selected in your recording mixer in Windows.
@wrathchild1111 Ok.. Double click on the speaker in your tray to the lower right... that first mixer is NOT your recording mixer.. it's the playback mixer.. click on OPTIONS..then PROPERTIES.. then click the Recording button...then OK... Now you will see a different mixer with RECORDING CONTROL as the window Title... make sure you don't have it selected to "WHAT U HEAR" or something similar
i need help. Every time i try to record a second track while trying to listen to the first track through my lexicon/lambda with headphones. I get this weird pitched sound when i do.
can u help...when i record a track, then record over that track i cant hear the first track i recorded, like i will hit record and it says recording but i cant hear the previos track
@xXSLIMXx1 Try clicking on EDIT then PREFERENCES... now make sure you are on the AUDIO I/O Tab and see if you have the box by "OVERDUB Play other tracks while recording new one" checked
Yeah I have no problem staying on any beats. It is just when I start to sing over my instrumental track, my playback through my headphones is delayed. I already fixed the latency so I have no idea what it is. Any suggestions?
Noise removal always makes my tracks sound tinny and robotic, have you ever encountered this? And I always have it slid over so as to use as little NR as possible.... ? Strange.
Did you ever experience the problem that the two (or more) tracks were not in sync?? That's what happens to me, and I think you need special "synchronizer" hardware to fix that, isn't it?
@Johi2410 It could be your soundcard. If it is low end it may have sync problems. I've never experienced it myself though. I have a 10 year old Soundblaster. You might get a USB mic and try playing into it as it does not use the soundcard.. or you might purchase an imput device. M-Audio makes some and a few other companies as well.
Thanks for the reply! I run a Shure Mic, guitar pickup etc. through a mixing board, and into the Line-In of my soundcard: It's a Sound Blaster as well!
The idea with the USB mic might be a "final" solution if nothing works out, yeah, but I read on a forum that this problem occurred to others, too... maybe it's a problem Audacity does in general have, under certain circumstances...? Don't know really, but I'll try to figure it out!
@Johi2410 I have the same synch problem. I use a Linux os, ubuntu '09. I plug the mic directly into the pc. would an audio interface such as m audio help this? It's very frustrating. Thanks.
ok, why did i spend so much money on cakewalks sonar 7? this looks so easy. i guess i can ditch cakewalk, and the expensive pre-amp and download audacity for free and buy an adapter plug for 3 bucks and go direct into my sound card. thanks for the info.
@trottet Well, your other software is probably slicker and more features. Audacity is probably not professional level. I'm just a guy who can barely play sitting in front of his computer! ha.
can you give me some advice,l I am trying to record two different tracks, so when it is played on the CD they can have track one and then track Can you give me any idea how to do that?
I LOVE YOU!!!!! I fooled around with my software for months trying to figure out how to get it to multitrack! I was floored when I found the checkbox. Thank you soooooo much!
when i use the scissor or delete the beginning, how do i delete it without the whole track moving to the side.. cause when i do that, the whole thing gets off tempo
@thisisazn Instead of deleting, click the SILENCE icon which is in the same cluster as the scissor button...it will kill remove all sound from the highlighted area but leave the track in place.
ok i can record my first track perfectly fin no problems at all but when i go to record the second track it wont take any input exxcept for a few random spots and it will start makin horrible high pitch noises and when i record either track the R on my imput meter dosnt move...... im new at this recording software stuff so could someone help me out. oh and by the way im playing a guitar through an amp to my computers mike it that means anything.
@powerslaveiron49 Try clicking on EDIT then PREFERENCES... now make sure you are on the AUDIO I/O Tab and see if you have the box by "OVERDUB Play other tracks while recording new one" checked. Also, as you record through a mic, are you turning down your speakers? Use headphones!
Hey I think I'm having similar problems as the others who have commented but when I record, everything I play will echo back to me and this messes me up. So I just mute my computer and it works fine. But then I have to listen along with the first track while recording the second which means I'll have to turn my computer back up. So when I record the second track it will all echo back to me. If that made sense do you think you know what I'm doing wrong?
@jrskater95 Ok.. have you looked in your mixer settings? Double click on the speaker in your tray to the lower right... that first mixer is NOT your recording mixer.. it's the playback mixer.. click on OPTIONS..then PROPERTIES.. then click the Recording button...then OK... Now you will see a different mixer with RECORDING CONTROL as the window Title... make sure you don't have it selected to "WHAT U HEAR" or something similar. Click WAVE. This is assuming you are using XP. Try that.
I think I'm might be having the same problems as the others who have commented but when I'm recording a track it will echo back to me which messes me up while I'm playing so I just mute my computer and play it like that. But when I want to record a second track I need to un-mute my computer so i can record in time with the first track but what I record will echo back to me. If that made sense do you know what I'm doing wrong?
hey umm....i need help i downloaded audacity recorded 1 track with a mic. but when i try to add a second track like you did in this video it records both the first and second track i unplugged the mic and tried to record using my guitar pedal but it still picked up both tracks and put them together i dont know if u get what what im trying to say but pretty much i cant get two individual tracks how it looks on ur vid can u try to help me out
@dangerousaddict I'm going to guess that you have your windows mixer set to record "WHAT YOU HEAR" instead of Line in or Microphone. Pull up your windows mixer and choose OPTIONS then PROPERTIES then click RECORDING.. here are all the available channels to record with. If it is set to "WHAT YOU HEAR" or something like that then that is the problem!
@Parksart i am having the same problem as dangerousaddict... when i record one track, and then try and record a second one, the mic kind of pics up a delay oon the second track of the first track's sounds. i tried what you said in the volume mixer, but i do not see any settings called "what you hear" mine is currently set to "microphone/line in" ... still this problem is happening. please help.
@cfaman115 This may be a dumb question, but are you recording into a mic? And are you playing the first track out of speakers? Could the mic be picking up the first track?
@Parksart yes that is exactly whats happening. im recording into the mic on my laptop and when i click to record the second track, the first track plays just like in your video. but yes the mic is picking up the first track. any suggestions?
@cfaman115 Try using headphones instead of listening to the first track through speakers. Also, if it's a guitar or something, you can get an adapter from the 1/4 plug to the headphone size jack and plug straight into the mic port. Hope it works for you!
for all the ppl looking to record but not spend a shitload of money on a USB mixer, go on musicians friend or w/e and look up 1/4 female to 1/8 male inch adapters. its like 10 bucks and you can plug a guitar or microphone direct into the mic input on your cpu.
was wondering why i couldn't hear playback when i tried to record another track, just had to check that little goddamn box. thanks for the tutorial man great help.
would a computer mic be good enough to record music with audacity? i have an actual concert mic, the shure sm58 but i dont have a mixer and i dont want to buy a mixer. (only a high school student)
i want to make multitracks and yours sounded pretty good.
@initialdluvr I use a computer mic alot. I have both a regular one that came with my soundcard like 15 years ago (creative brand) and I also have a usb mic which works well also.. both are just regular computer mics. I can't remember but I think this video might have used one of those... of course, you could get a 1/4 inch to headphone jack adapter from Radio Shack and plug the guitar straight into the mic port of your computer.. I do that too.
Hi. I am trying to record multi-tacks using a key board. But the response is delayed. When I hit a key, audacity records the sound like half a second afterwards. So when I'm trying to play to the first track, the second comes out "off beat". Any ideas?
@Parksart The computer is fairly new. Windows Vista. Realtex sound card I think. Using the "line in" jack. I messed with some preference settings this morn, but still when I hit a key on the keyboard (piano), the sound from the computer speakers are delayed in comparison to the speakers on the actual keyboard...like there's an echo when I play.
i am a dj new to all this stuff... i have a demo i want to release but cant seem to figure out what to do. I need to burn cd's split from one continuous mix into 15 tracks...what do i do?
Just switch the recording device to your microphone. It is at the very top right corner of your screen next to the mic bar. It is set on Stereo Mix by default.
gr8 vid bro Im playing my guitar and i laid down a rhythm track, and then i tried to go over it and make a lead track to it, but when i do it just amplifys my rhythm track and i cant hear the lead really..i have my headphones on to avoid the mic from picking up the rhythm part coming from the speakers, so idk how to get rid of the amplification of the rhythm part
basically, how do i listen to my rhythm part while playing my lead part without my rhythm part being amplified to an insane degree?
Hey man just switch the recording device to your microphone. It is at the very top right corner of your screen next to the mic bar. It is set on Stereo Mix by default.
Hey, great video! But there's one problem when I use Audacity. When I multitrack, I can't hear my last record. But it seems you can. So do you know how I can do that?
Thank you for your reply. Your tutorial was really useful. I'm trying to record some of my songs and I'm using audacity. After many tutorials I've found yours and I thought it was really good. So nice of you to share your tips. Please make some more tutorials when you can.
if you google audacity plugin's you should be able to find various plugins. Some VST plugins will work with audacity as well. I don't have this same install anymore so I don't have the plugins currently. Let me know if you can't find them and I'll look.
okay i know how to record TWO tracks. but i want to save it as ONE file!!! And when i try to export it they say they will save it as TWO files.. and i wannna save it as one, so that when i play it, both tracks will be playing.. but i dont know how! please help..
You should be able to export as an MP3 if you have installed the LAME mp3 encoder. Do a search on that and you'll find instructions. I have a tutorial on it as well.. but it is not for the latest version of the encoder.
Well, it shouldn't matter what format you save as. Mine prompts me and tells me it will be saved down as one track. You are saying when you save that you have two separate wav files saved?
yeah..still no luck. i dont know whats wrong with it. i can still play and lay the next track down but in the background is the first recording and its hard to keep time. ive done that thing in preferences but its still the same
Ok... try this.. pull up your sound mixer *the speaker in lower right by the clock* Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES...then click the RECORDING option there... a new mixer will appear.. this is the recording mixer.. you may have "WHAT YOU HEAR" selected as the recording device... choose MIC instead... let me know if that helps!
Hello...can you watch my main video. Its headed as a test video. Its a recording of a Palestinian and an Israeli soldier. The Muslim call to prayer is too loud and its difficult to make out whats being said.
Can Audacity distinguish between the two and allow me to tone down the call to prayer?
Hi, I have Audacity and I wanna record. But when i lay down a track then go to record another one it records the first track again and its very annoying. how do i do what u did without it recording the first track again
somewhere in EDIT/PREFERENCES you may find an option to turn off the record over the first track. You do want it to play the first track while recording though. I don't have it installed on this machine so let me know if you still haven't got it worked out and I'll help more...
Well.. if you mean you have a an audacity file open with a multiple tracks (like a guitar, bass, and drumtrack or something) then if you export as MP3 it will just combine all the tracks to one track in the MP3. The tracks will remain separate on your saved file for Audacity though.
I'm having the same prob as biboygitarista. Anyone know how to fix it?
im succesful recording the first track (chords)
when I record a second track (which is supposed to be a solo part over the chords) the 2nd track still recorded the chord part together with the guitar solo altogether on track 2 only. help please, thanks!
i have the same problem buy muting the first track wouldnt wrk well cuz i need to monitor from the first track i need to hear the first track and record on the second track without the first track recording again on the second track, just like this guy from the video did
I really think that depends on different factors... if you have really nice mics and have a good mix and balance going in you could do it in one track.. just try it both ways and see which you like most...
to record all on one track limits your possibilities a lot. That usually requires studio microphones that are worth thousands of dollars. For independant recording it's always good to record tracks separate and mix them together. This way you can EQ individual tracks and clean up audio or add effects to certain instruments or vocals but not all (without having to buy insanely expensive mixers)
cool to know ty for showing this i had to see if i can i could Multi-track record befor i got it i been useing adobe 1.5 for 3 years and all you do is fight with it all the time with itlike to bleed all the tim and keep haveng to miss with it look like this program you was useing is a lot nicer
thankyou so much for some reason my audacity got screwed up and i couldn't figure how to get the first track to play but you said it right away thankyou

Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart
Johi2410 1 year ago
@Johi2410 I have the same synch problem. I use a Linux os, ubuntu '09. I plug the mic directly into the pc. would an audio interface such as m audio help this? It's very frustrating. Thanks.
jdm1961 1 year ago
@jdm1961
I really don't know. But that might be a solution...
Sorry I can't be of more help...!

ok, why did i spend so much money on cakewalks sonar 7? this looks so easy. i guess i can ditch cakewalk, and the expensive pre-amp and download audacity for free and buy an adapter plug for 3 bucks and go direct into my sound card. thanks for the info.
trottet 1 year ago
@trottet Well, your other software is probably slicker and more features. Audacity is probably not professional level. I'm just a guy who can barely play sitting in front of his computer! ha.

when i use the scissor or delete the beginning, how do i delete it without the whole track moving to the side.. cause when i do that, the whole thing gets off tempo
thisisazn 1 year ago
@thisisazn Instead of deleting, click the SILENCE icon which is in the same cluster as the scissor button...it will kill remove all sound from the highlighted area but leave the track in place.

ok i can record my first track perfectly fin no problems at all but when i go to record the second track it wont take any input exxcept for a few random spots and it will start makin horrible high pitch noises and when i record either track the R on my imput meter dosnt move...... im new at this recording software stuff so could someone help me out. oh and by the way im playing a guitar through an amp to my computers mike it that means anything.
powerslaveiron49 1 year ago

If that made sense do you think you know what I'm doing wrong?
jrskater95 1 year ago
@jrskater95 Have you tried using headphones instead of your speakers?
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart yeah it still echos in my headphones
jrskater95 1 year ago
@jrskater95 Ok.. have you looked in your mixer settings? Double click on the speaker in your tray to the lower right... that first mixer is NOT your recording mixer.. it's the playback mixer.. click on OPTIONS..then PROPERTIES.. then click the Recording button...then OK... Now you will see a different mixer with RECORDING CONTROL as the window Title... make sure you don't have it selected to "WHAT U HEAR" or something similar. Click WAVE. This is assuming you are using XP. Try that.
Parksart 1 year ago
I think I'm might be having the same problems as the others who have commented but when I'm recording a track it will echo back to me which messes me up while I'm playing so I just mute my computer and play it like that. But when I want to record a second track I need to un-mute my computer so i can record in time with the first track but what I record will echo back to me. If that made sense do you know what I'm doing wrong?

dangerousaddict 1 year ago
@dangerousaddict I'm going to guess that you have your windows mixer set to record "WHAT YOU HEAR" instead of Line in or Microphone. Pull up your windows mixer and choose OPTIONS then PROPERTIES then click RECORDING.. here are all the available channels to record with. If it is set to "WHAT YOU HEAR" or something like that then that is the problem!
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart i am having the same problem as dangerousaddict... when i record one track, and then try and record a second one, the mic kind of pics up a delay oon the second track of the first track's sounds. i tried what you said in the volume mixer, but i do not see any settings called "what you hear" mine is currently set to "microphone/line in" ... still this problem is happening. please help.
cfaman115 1 year ago
@cfaman115 This may be a dumb question, but are you recording into a mic? And are you playing the first track out of speakers? Could the mic be picking up the first track?
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart yes that is exactly whats happening. im recording into the mic on my laptop and when i click to record the second track, the first track plays just like in your video. but yes the mic is picking up the first track. any suggestions?
cfaman115 1 year ago
@cfaman115 Try using headphones instead of listening to the first track through speakers. Also, if it's a guitar or something, you can get an adapter from the 1/4 plug to the headphone size jack and plug straight into the mic port. Hope it works for you!
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart ohhh yeah idk why i didnt think of that. il try it thanks!
cfaman115 1 year ago
Can you download Audacity onto your computer, then transfer it to a separate disc, so that you can put it on a separate computer?
hiphopsucks96 1 year ago
@hiphopsucks96 Of course! It's a .exe file that you download then click to install. So you could easily put it on a flash drive or cd. No problem!
Parksart 1 year ago
for all the ppl looking to record but not spend a shitload of money on a USB mixer, go on musicians friend or w/e and look up 1/4 female to 1/8 male inch adapters. its like 10 bucks and you can plug a guitar or microphone direct into the mic input on your cpu.

would a computer mic be good enough to record music with audacity? i have an actual concert mic, the shure sm58 but i dont have a mixer and i dont want to buy a mixer. (only a high school student)
i want to make multitracks and yours sounded pretty good.
initialdluvr 1 year ago

Any ideas?
TheLaraTube 1 year ago
@TheLaraTube It could be a soundcard issue.
Is it an old computer? Are you using the
MIDI Port or mic in jack?
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart The computer is fairly new. Windows Vista. Realtex sound card I think. Using the "line in" jack. I messed with some preference settings this morn, but still when I hit a key on the keyboard (piano), the sound from the computer speakers are delayed in comparison to the speakers on the actual keyboard...like there's an echo when I play.
jasonalara 1 year ago
@jasonalara Do you hear your keyboard through your computer
speakers? Like with audacity turned off?
Is it delayed then? Do you have a mic you can
plug in? Is there a delay when you speak into it?
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart I forgot to mention I've got two Youtube accounts..."jasonalara" and "thelaratube" are the same.

Just switch the recording device to your microphone. It is at the very top right corner of your screen next to the mic bar. It is set on Stereo Mix by default.

gr8 vid bro Im playing my guitar and i laid down a rhythm track, and then i tried to go over it and make a lead track to it, but when i do it just amplifys my rhythm track and i cant hear the lead really..i have my headphones on to avoid the mic from picking up the rhythm part coming from the speakers, so idk how to get rid of the amplification of the rhythm part
basically, how do i listen to my rhythm part while playing my lead part without my rhythm part being amplified to an insane degree?

fras3r666 2 years ago
if you google audacity plugin's you should be able to find various plugins. Some VST plugins will work with audacity as well. I don't have this same install anymore so I don't have the plugins currently. Let me know if you can't find them and I'll look.

Don't forget to play to a metronome, not only will it keep you in time, but it will help to sync additional tracks.

okay i know how to record TWO tracks. but i want to save it as ONE file!!! And when i try to export it they say they will save it as TWO files.. and i wannna save it as one, so that when i play it, both tracks will be playing.. but i dont know how! please help..
SartaySimon 2 years ago
You should be able to export as an MP3 if you have installed the LAME mp3 encoder. Do a search on that and you'll find instructions. I have a tutorial on it as well.. but it is not for the latest version of the encoder.
Parksart 2 years ago
i usually save it as wav. actually. but um i just wanna know how to save the whole thing as ONE thing.. lol
SartaySimon 2 years ago
Well, it shouldn't matter what format you save as. Mine prompts me and tells me it will be saved down as one track. You are saying when you save that you have two separate wav files saved?

Ok... try this.. pull up your sound mixer *the speaker in lower right by the clock* Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES...then click the RECORDING option there... a new mixer will appear.. this is the recording mixer.. you may have "WHAT YOU HEAR" selected as the recording device... choose MIC instead... let me know if that helps!

Hello...can you watch my main video. Its headed as a test video. Its a recording of a Palestinian and an Israeli soldier. The Muslim call to prayer is too loud and its difficult to make out whats being said.
Can Audacity distinguish between the two and allow me to tone down the call to prayer?
ImagesByDavid 2 years ago
Hi, I have Audacity and I wanna record. But when i lay down a track then go to record another one it records the first track again and its very annoying. how do i do what u did without it recording the first track again
Weybz 2 years ago
somewhere in EDIT/PREFERENCES you may find an option to turn off the record over the first track. You do want it to play the first track while recording though. I don't have it installed on this machine so let me know if you still haven't got it worked out and I'll help more...
Parksart 2 years ago
say i have a couple of tracks and want to make it an mp3.. how does that work? and i already got that lame thing mp3.
Kai66vengeance 2 years ago
Well.. if you mean you have a an audacity file open with a multiple tracks (like a guitar, bass, and drumtrack or something) then if you export as MP3 it will just combine all the tracks to one track in the MP3. The tracks will remain separate on your saved file for Audacity though.

if i wanted to make a demo song recording of my band, should we all play together at they same time and record as one track? thanks for your time!
gbluesrocker 3 years ago
I really think that depends on different factors... if you have really nice mics and have a good mix and balance going in you could do it in one track.. just try it both ways and see which you like most...
Parksart 3 years ago
how do you set up the microphone and stuff. Good playing though, not my style (death metal)
DeathMetalAngel123 2 years ago
to record all on one track limits your possibilities a lot. That usually requires studio microphones that are worth thousands of dollars. For independant recording it's always good to record tracks separate and mix them together. This way you can EQ individual tracks and clean up audio or add effects to certain instruments or vocals but not all (without having to buy insanely expensive mixers)
