  • taxpayersforzimmerman you may have the right idea about property taxes, maybe, but your method of expression is a tub of stinking shit, your amateur attempt at horror smells like shit, doesn't deserve articulation, it is shit.

  • Glad to see an opponent to Spears, but this ad will probably disgust people more than make a point. Someone needs to take control of the Tax Assessor's office. The 10%+ increase in home value assessments in this down economic year was terrible! I'm tired of the Travis county game of raising assessments too high every year and waiting for people to protest.

  • Just saw this on KXAN (via rabbit ears) and am glad someone finally had the gall to call it for what it's worth.

    GO DON ZIMMERMAN!

  • This probably represents the current rock bottom in tasteless and vile political advertisements. Still, I'm sure a new bottom will be along any time now.

Zimmerman, you're a tool if you don't fire whomever is whipping out this crap for you.

  • That was me! Thanks so much!

  • Actually, I'm very impressed with the talent and skill of our producer Shannon Cook, who based on your comments, obviously has a bright future producing campaign ads. Thanks for the affirmation!

  • That's not censorship, that's really called discourse. People disagree with, or don't like, your comment for some reason or another, so they rate it down. Internet democracy at it's simplest.

  • Folks are feeling pain at the pump, the pain of "bailout" politicians selling us out, and pain of inflated local government and an appraisal and tax system that works against homeowners. A little bit of Karo syrup, food coloring, ice, and humor has helped put a 30-second face on the pain. Zimmerman has my vote, and we'd be fortunate if every person on our ballot was as committed to limited government and our rights as he. I now have a reason to show up on election day. Keep up the great work!

  • This guy is a used car salesman - seriously. He has no background in tax law, government, appraisal - nothing.

He is really a libertarian nut job. Zimmerman went to a flag burning ceremony a few years ago, has run for party and public office at least three previous times.

Oh and he's had a hair transplant. If you meet him, you'll know he is not right in the head.

Don Zimmerman is the little boy on the playground who wanted to be the leader and no one else wanted to play with him.

  • To VlasicGirl...

Actually, Zimmerman is an engineer. He currently holds elected office and is looking to graduate to an office where he can do more to advocate for taxpayers.

  • What kind of nut case are you? Even if he did have a hair transplant, what does that have to do with anything he is addressing in this video?

The one with "issues" is obviously you.

  • Who are the ad wizards that came up with this one?!

    Stupid and disgusting.

  • Thanks!

  • Zimmerman is an insensitive cocksucker.

  • Now, how can overtaxed free citizens possibly counter such power intellectual argument from the proponents of socialism and big government?

  • Awesome

  • Go Don Zimmerman! It is indeed time to stop the bleeding at all levels of government. Your campaign is a breath of fresh air and will be a model for the future. The people in your area are blessed to have you working for them and leading the way. Thanks a bunch!/sc

  • Go Don Zimmerman

  • Does the tax assessor-collector set the tax rates? Or just assess property and collect taxes?

  • Property APPRAISALS are being aggressively raised by the appointed (not elected) county appraisal district, so the elector assessor-collector needs to do double-duty as the taxpayer's advocate. Tax rates are set by county, city, school, and other elected taxing authorities - the TOTAL TAX LEVY must be reduced by those entities.

  • Best political add ever.

  • I just saw this commercial on my local station... I'm disgusted! Has our discourse really sunk this low? I had to change the channel, I was so grossed out. Don, you've just ensured you won't get my vote.

  • "Has our discourse really sunk this low?"

Just keeping up with the politicians.

  • gross. :)

but it should get some attention! :) I like that the poor dude who sold his kidney was writing Don's name... hopefully people will remember that name when they're at the polls. :)

  • The property taxes in Texas really are absurdly high!
