  • That figure of ~11,000 killed by guns in the past year is troubling. I will not deny that. However I do not think that gun control is not the answer.  All gun control accomplishes is to prevent law-abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves in severe situations. A person who is willing to murder another is not going to worry about misdemeanor or even felony charges relating to unauthorized ownership/carrying of a firearm.
