best version of this song i have ever heard. i love Nat King Cole but i never knew he sang this song! XD on a side note, i think they should just replace all fallout songs with purely Nat King Cole so thats all i hear when i play cause im tired of playing his songs while i play
@vwharry1 Just my mentioning that makes me think how pathetic our society is today. We have all this techology and yet the record companies today are producing mostly junk from entertainers who get their vocies computer generated to make you think they can sing when they really can't. Not to mention how even technology has reduced us to having less musically trained people. It's all about the image of talentless millionares.
Was this influenced by early Rock-n-Roll (don't know what year it was recorded)? If it wasn't maybe it could lay some claim to being one of the first ones...
- That's what it reminds me of anyway... Never heard NKC swing (if that's the right word) like this.
@popdog20051 So was I. I also think I was born on the wrong planet, wrong place. Everything I like is different from what others like. But I don't care. I like what I think is beautiful, that's all.
This song was written in 1934 by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, and had been recorded many times before Sinatra ever attempted it. His is definitely not the original.
and are you saying that no one is allowed to perform a rendition of anything? should the man city fans who sing this "go kill themselves" because they are disrespecting the original? (which, by the way, isn't even frank sinatra)
nat king cole's version puts a new spin on the original. whether you like it or not is irrelevant. "go kill urself", you ignorant troll.
Very original and good version, but its difficult to think a no romantic nat king cole´s version of this superromantic song, it seems to me like very much like the great sam cooke. ¿its from his rockin period of 1957-159? when he recorded among others the rockin "send for me"
@lvlarzyciel . mostly, i just dont understand people who comment on an artist they dont like...who told you to come here. his style of singing was appreciated by many people. i actually was looking at all the blue moon videos because i wanted to know why so many people like the song, then your comment was just too hard to resist since i could see you didnt understand the lyrics, and i thought id help you out. :-) you must have a broken heart because you want the song to have a sad meaning.
@lvlarzyciel WOW. it know its hard for you to understand because i see your command of the english language, AND we all have our different likes and dislikes, BUT the complete version of the song is about how on one night under the same moon, one can feel lonely and without love, and then another night, feel the opposite because you know found that "one". you can say that you dont like nat king cole's version, but calling me stupid for not understanding the lyrics...well, its just too funny!
@lvlarzyciel what are you talking about? "and then suddenly appeared before me" and then he has his happy ending "now im no longer alone" ahahaha you musta have only been listening to the beginning. he finds the love he is lonely for! :-)
Great voice. Like Mat397 said, when the artists had talent. They didn't use all the digital and advanced technology that most artists use today to alter their voice. Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra etc. are the epitome of talent. Artists of today are phony by comparison.
Thanks for such a great video and music, this man was a once in a century artist, his voice was not grandiose, was just perfect, a true romantic tone!
Having "Class" was/is a natural thing. No money, no putting on anything. It's comes naturally. I believe this period of time with Nat, Wes, the Horn, Ella, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte and so many others prove it.
What a delight to listen to! And loved those awesome of Nat & his trio you provided. He's my all time favorite male vocalist. Had a unique style like no other....how sad that he left us too soon. THANKS for posting this....you've gotten my New Year off to a fantastic start!!! :)
