I just got the pixel screen, I took it to the apple store, dude said it was a graphic issue, the NVIDIA test showed fail GPU, and they have to replace the main logic board! For free because the company that made the part stated it was a bad part anyway!! Im so glad and lucky!
@honjay Hey could you tell me a little bit more about this issue. My computer just started doing the same things going on in the video you commented on. My computer won't boot up and at random times these Pixelated swirls and weird things keep happening to my display.
How long ago did you get the issue resolved by Apple? Because I read on the Apple site they were fixing Mac's 4 yrs old free of charge and mine is like 4 yrs and 2 weeks old?
press shift key when booting up, it will lead to safe mode. open disk utility, click on your hard drive, put in your OSX cd that came with your mac, and click erase. make sure you back up.
Well you need a Linux distro, don't be afriad of Linux its your friend.. Get a life Linux cd lets say Ubuntu or Mint... both are easy to use.. .boot off of the cd and back up you files b/c your system files on your OSx are fucked up... and like everyone bellow said reinstall mac osx with your installer :|
i have the same problem with my Macbook Air 2008, i turn it on, it stays on the apple logo and doesn't move from there, then when i turn it off and on and press shift to make it load,. it shows the logo saying it's loading the it doesn't load and turns off. what did you do to make it load? please help me, i have the same problem. and wouldn't like to lose my family pictures, and videos I've bought from iTunes.

If its a MacBook Pro 3.1 with nVidia Geforce 8600 Apple will fix it for free, its a known issue with nVidia 8600m gt cards.. Had my old macbook replaced for a brand new MBP i5 at the 4th reparation of this problem
actually i USED to have this problem and i did fix it. it wasn't fun though. you need to take it in to a local apple store, and they will MOST LIKELY wipe out the hard drive. That is if they cant fix it. right after that i bought an external hard drive
IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IS IT POSIBLE TO CONNECT THE PIXELATED MAC TO OTHER MAC VIA FIREWIRE OR SOMETHING TO GET THE FILES OF THE COMPUTER THAT WONT START???? AND THIS IS A G.CARD PROBLEM OR WHAT?
I don't know about Macs, but if its anything like windows maybe you might have a startup option screen where you can boot to last good configuration, or if you actually get into the system you might have system restore. IDK google it.
