On this date in 1960 {Mar. 7th} "Sink The Bismarck" entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; eventually it would peaked at #3 and spent 18 weeks in the Top 100...

When 1st released 'Bismarck' was misspelled as 'Bismark' on the record label; later corrected...
I dont think the Brutish actually sank the Bismark. I was under the impression that the Germans Scuttled that ship to stop it from falling into British hands like that did with so many of their other ships.
I may be wrong (if so it wouldn't be the first time)
@starguard - the British shelled and torpedoed the Bismarck into a flaming wreck with every gun out of action and most of the crew dead so even if they scuttled it to make sure the Brits didn't board it I don't think anyone really cared. It wasn't exactly a German victory.

Remember the Swordfish Torpedo bombers approaching at low level, 80 kts or so, they disabled the Bismark and allowed the fleet to close and sink it

His voice is so soothing and clear. I love it. My grandpa introduced me to Johnny Horton and I can't get enough.
