  • thanks you it's nice to see that beautiful female form for once doing the highland dance, usually the skirts hide it all i can tell you that for the male brain, this is dope!

  • Brilliant

  • very good, Scotland for ever !

  • Baffles me why the Scots went this style of dancing while the Irish went their way. Irish dancing .... the best Celtic dance style.

  • That's was incredible...the dancing was good, too.

  • If this is what the highland fling always looked like, this would be the most popular form of traditional dancing on earth. Just saying.

  • @TheArdRigh You just wish you could do this! Bet you're overweight and unfit!

  • Thumbs up if you paused at 0:14

  • great job!!! just need to turn out the suporting leg more its quite turned in!

  • She's a bit bonnie to be a real Scottish girl :(

  • @TheXand19 Must be Irish :)

  • @SmartSoundStudios Aye, she's a bit hairless for a real Scots lass :(

  • @TheXand19 Haha!

  • DAYUM!!!

  • turn out :)

  • Tough dance. Good job!

  • Good but maybe next time try and show us 4 even 6 steps. You are also being a bit heavy on the landing try and lighten it up a bit xx

  • Very impressive fling.

  • omg... BEEEEE....AAAAAA...UTIFUL!

  • pure dead brilliant lol...minted

  • lol nice points just try not to move as much.

  • WOW they need to have a you on a fitness comercial about how to get a "Rock Hard Body" like that without working out but just doing that dance hahaha keep up the practice lol

  • Regarding Tartans. When I was a child Tartans were worn at a diagonal. Not as they are now being horizontal. Could anyone kindly tell me why?

  • Wow youre in ridiculously good shape. Cute dance too. =)

  • i need to date a dancer.

  • you're so good! im jelous :)

  • hello fab video, i occasionaly watch dancers on youtube to try and learn more and was impressed by your video. i am a dancer too and am excited coz im moving up a section into intermediate. if ur wondering started dancing in feb 2009. My teacher would tell u to tighten up the shedding and in 2nd posistion keep ur heel forward. whoops one more thing knee back. gr8 dancing keep it up!

    from scottish person.

  • Come to realise, That in every video i watch About, Either irish Dancing or Scottish Highland dancing, The majority of comments are purely there to decrease the person who displayed it in the video's confidence - They is a line where Critism Ends, and Many people Pass critism and go onto being damn right vulgar - Good Job In the video, well Done. ^^

  • very sexy

  • Your physical fitness makes me feel like a slovenly fat-body=(

  • :0~~~~~~~~

  • Dang, I've never seen Scottish Highland Dancing look so good! ;-)

  • Hot!

  • it still good nice form lassie

  • Very good! The only things I think you need to work on are tightening up your shedding (sliding the foot around the leg instead of it coming off) and to keep working on your turnout! I stretch (frog stretch) every day and it has helped my turnout a lot.

You are a very talented dancer! keep up the good work!

  • What A Beautiful Girl!!!

  • The only thing i can see is you lead your foot round your leg with your ankle.. always move the full foot rather than your toes and heel seperately. but nice fling :D

  • Wow!

I should dance the fling every day now.

Perhaps sae I can get such a sexy body, too ;o)

  • Wow!

I should dance the fling every day now.

Perhaps I can get such a sexy body, too

  • whoa....

  • @bable4u They were fine. Honestly, all she needs to do is pull back her wrists while on her waist and she'll be doing it stunningly. Also, watch the disassemble into the first shedding, it seemed a bit exaggerated.

  • :) only thing u should correct is that footup in retiree it needs to point more its like completely flexed

  • I love that final smile!

    5*

  • yes.. you SHOULD be wearing knee high socks for your shedding im suprised your legs arent killing you!!!!!!

  • the clothing is fine.

  • You need to put on some clothes for videos.

  • wish i could say i was watching this just for the dance

  • How funny. I used to take a class doing this and I think, minus the dancer body and general feminine physique, I looked about the same.

  • what a fit young lass

  • ad shag her

    again

  • your seconds are really strong and you get off the ground and have good point, but you need to get your foot right around your leg it doesnt go gully to 5th aerial but it was a good fling

  • The one thing that stuck out really bad for me, was when your doing your shedding, your toe is sliding around before the rest of your foot goes around, try to keep it all together, so it's not like your snaking your foot around. Otherwise, great dancing. (:

Just some fellow dancer help. haha

  • Amazing dancer . But one pointer that i used to get picked up on all the time. You look as if you force your feet round your legs. They should move in a straight point once reaching your leg . It makes you look as if you constantly have to think about what you are doing instead of being a confident dancer. Brilliant dancer though!.

  • so cute

  • good job..i love that tune..there is something about that music and dance that sets me right on fire!!!!!

  • wish id been playing the pipes in that room instead of that machine . oooooh more tea vicar .

  • Absolutely smokin.............. red hot!!!

  • My best friend is the best in scottland at highland dancin x

  • Well done just watch the elevation that you dont bounce all over the place nice transitions though are you in premier ??

  • Very well done, wonderful point, and your elevation was great.

The only thing I saw were your hips. They turn just slightly when you hit second position, which is just a matter of turn out.

    Really good, though(:

  • You are amazing...I would love to see more from you!! My little dancers love to watch this little clip for inspiration!! :)

  • hey good, not being rude just giving you pointers, like some people said before i think, be light on ur feet and stay in one place and relax ur hands have them in the stag shape so you dont get cramp.

  • And now with Your kilt... ;-))

  • nicley done! i take scottish counry dancing, so it is different from what you are doing

  • I just started highland dancing, I'm very excited!

  • omg i hate this dance passionately its tiring and takes wat seems like forever. i love scotch on the rock...ur good tho

  • I had abbs like that once

  • Really good elevation, try to work for more turnout. Try also to keep your second positions back after the turn cause they are coming just a little bit forward. But overall, this was really good.

  • holy hell you're well fit

  • Good Work but as a fellow dancers I think your Amazing just try to stay in one spot and have quite feet (you could hear thumps when you danced) but I think your Really Good!!

  • You are very strong and precise, just try not to hop everywhere lol. And in the shedding, it looks like youre lifting your heel off the leg in order to get it to the front. Its supposed to stay flat.... Anyway just trying to help. Have Fun!!

  • Well done :)

  • ha ha love the littl smile at the end

  • you need to work on your turnout on the foot your jumping on. Then your fling would look really good.

  • hey great job and great elevation but just a few suggestions to help you make it even better is to try rubbing your foot tighter around your leg, it almost seems to kind of bounce to the front and back of your leg. A few other things is try turning your leg out more, straighten your wrists on your hips, and bringing your arms back, my teacher even criticises me on that! Anyways wasnt trying to be mean in anyway but just trying to help out another highland dancer:)Keep up the great work:)

  • @highlanddancer36 True - good points made.

  • Wow. Wish I had abs like that.

The dancing is cool too. :-)

  • nice booty haha

  • Irish Dancer here, I'd say to turn out your supporting foot (the jumping one) more, but I'm not sure about the rules in Highland

  • Wow! This seems really athletic. Like you have to have really strong legs and great core support. WOW!

  • I have to say Highland dance is much more interesting without the costume. ; >

  • very good dancing. id turn out your supporting foot a bit more. and be careful.. when your doing head positions, ur hips seem to turn to the side.

  • Such a neat style of dance. I'd like to see her perform a sword dance w/ the whole outfit.

  • i wonder how many guys actually watched this for the booty xD

  • damn right

  • Katie!!!!! You hottie you...I was looking up some Highland dance video's for my friends at work to see what we used to do (I used to do) and found you! Hehe!! Isn't hilarious reading everyone's commnents? You got quite a few views too... ;) Love you girl...you rock!

  • WOW...look at that stomach !!! im so flusterd up i dont know what ta say...hehe

  • you can't have gotten a body like that from highland dancing, lol. do you play some other sport?

  • Even in half naked she dances well lol Kidding But no she's good.

  • great piont but ur like smashing ur pionting foot on the ground alot i found. Also maybe it was 'cuz i saw u from the back, but it looks like ur supporting foot could b a little more turned out. i know i don't sound very technical but i'm a lazy typer. who is ur teacher? mine might know her/him.

  • Great looking lass & she dances well excellent.

  • -claps-

    did you have lessons?

i want to learn but i don't think they have lessons anywhere i live near

  • strong uppper body

  • hey i have been doing scottish and irish dancing since i was 3 and that was a good first step of the Fling . Just u were all over the place, try to stay in one play instead of all over. i had this problem when i started but all u need to do is find like a little plastic dot and dance on that to stay in one place, it will come in practice. Great job though and good luck.

  • REALLY gd:D

  • im a dancer myself, and u did rpetty good except ur sicling your foot in your shedding and ur changing it as it goes from 3rd rear ariel to 3rd ariel. harden that ankle but other than that... great fling! just dont twist ur hips and flatten that back for the bow

  • Yep an and on ur shedding turns ur ankle doesn't move and it is not pointed.

  • good abs!

  • Good Job Lassie!!! Right Gorgeous if you ask me....Keep it up!

  • very nice lassie! keep up the goodwork.

  • o great another half naked girl dancing on youtube...just what the world needs.

  • can't live with 'em; can't live without 'em.

  • Your deportmen is excellent but your positions aren't. You need to make sure that your foot is fully turned over in second pt so that the top of your foot is facing the roof, and that your foot fully moves arounf your leg in fifth and third aerials. Also in aerial positions you need to fully stretch your foot and ankle, not just curl your toes. Well done anyway, keep it up. :)

  • uhm, well try to keep your turnout at the end,

and like, your foot is moving weirdly around your leg. make sure it moves all at once, intead of your toe moving before your heel.

and maybe a front veiw would be more practical...

  • Em.. maybe wear some actual clothes? Its a tad disrepectful to the dance and people can't take it seriously when you look like that.

  • Has posting this video helped you improve? I'd be interested to see your first step now. From this, I can see the problem in your drifting was in the left-as-supporting leg: your turnout goes in and out - keep that steady and you should be able to turn on a dime ;)

    - SDTA Fellow

  • ur good fix ur arms

  • great job ;) thanks :D

  • you have really good turn out next time do a leap or a full routine but really good!:]

  • Just try to think up instead of thinking , jump, jump, jump. if u think up- ur wrking foot wont sag down when it points to second.

  • I would like to see a leap.

    Especially with that turn out

  • Your working foot needs to be weightless (it's hitting the ground). I also noticed that you're not hitting just below the knee on your round the leg movement. Landing with your supporting leg turned out might help the placement of your foot. Your jumping is strong and consistent though. Thumbs up :)

  • Very short :S

Why not try the 4 step???

Nice, but wouldv looked nicer from the front.

  • YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is that a video of the fling on the computer?

  • YES. Used it for the music. =)

  • You are an amazing highland dancer! You are very strong and have good technique. try not to swing your shoulders so much, sometimes it look like you we're going to turn too early. Other than that, it was a great first step!

  • You've got the technique down, its just some basic things that if you can master in the fling, you should be able to use those in all dances. when your left hand is on your waist you rest the back of ure hand, tense that up and use you lower parts of ure fingers, it may in turn improve ure upper bodys squareness

  • myspace/februaryskyswe

  • great job, try not to touch so hard on the floor when you point in second, get your foot out there sharp and in the right position so you dont have to correct it up or down and risk sloppy points. good other than that, though =]

  • pretty good, just keep the working foot strong and tight on the leg while shedding. also keep knees back and body square. but apart from that, pretty good.

  • Other than you needing to turn out your supporting foot amazing!

  • Excellent! My ankles hurt just watching you practice.

  • you are absolutely stunning, where are you from?

  • maybe scotland? XD

  • No from the states, but have scottish heritage background.

  • turn out on youre supporting foot, apart from that perfect

  • You look GREAT!

Thank you for posting this, and keep dancing! :)

  • I think it all comes down to your hips. When you let say your right hip move back with the right side of shedding, then you don't get the square torso and not true turn out. Practice with an elastic belt on so you can see how it moves up and down when you change sides of shedding. This will help not only your knees turn out, but also when you reach to second. We want to see the WHOLE beautiful foot. Keep it up though...you look great!!! Great deportment!

  • excellent

  • Will you marry me?!

  • Just work on your turnout for your supporting foot. But very nice!

  • Could some of you please write titles of songs whick are good for Highland Dancing ? Nice girls is dancing ;-)

  • nice

  • What a great idea to set up the video so you can see your front and your back!

Your shedding is 'creeping' around your leg a little, but you can see that on the video - what a great way to correct yourself!!!

    Well done!

  • trbflinginaway is right... turnout the first thing judges look at. Do you plan on competing anywhere?

  • watch your turnout: your supporting feet and your seconds roll in a bit, but that should be easy to correct. also your shedding should stay completely on your leg, starting fully in the back, not on the side like you sometimes do. Otherwise, you are beautifully lifted, your carraige is great and you are very crisp!
