ok saving gas has nuthing to do with being fat dumb ass . its about alt ways to get around with out exhausting co2 in to the air .i my self think limiting them to low speed vehicals is just dumb and there should be no law as to how fast a electric car can go . but the gas company is pushing the gov ie GM goverment moters to keep us from using a electric car on the rurel streets .
It strikes me as something that promotes laziness and unnecessary consumption, which is not in line with living an ecofriendly lifestyle. I am however a huge supporter of electric cars, but they need to be able to replace cars, or they will be counter-productive from an environmental standpoint. Fortunately there are car manufacturers who are working on such models.
Honestly, it does not seem like a very environmentally conscious choice to get an NEV. Since they cannot typically replace a car, people would usually get one of both, which is a huge waste of resources. Additionally, a slow vehicle like an NEV would likely be used as a replacement for walking more often than replacing car travelling. Hence it would lead to more energy being consumed as well.

it'd be really cool if they were safer vehicles but safety is compromised for efficiency. i'd just rather walk to the store. exercise is a good thing
