i had seen a black shadow face figure right next to mine i tried to tell it to go away atleast 5 times but could not speak loudly, i eventually tried so hard to scream go away until i was fully awake,
My husband, myself, and two of my sons do this. My hubby feels like a ghost is trying to enter his soul. One son talks about shadow men, another son thrashes talks and walks. I get paralyzed and hover over myself and can see myself.
...Panicking or stressing will not help you. As many things in life we have to allowed it to happen, is just energies so let it live and watch it goes. Hope this self live experience can help someone else, because is helping me a lot.
At the beginning it was a struggle, tried several times to call for help, scream, move, then i realize get into those stage did not helped me at all , it just increased more the intensity of the experience. Now i try to stay calm, observe how am i feeling and watch what it does to me, then focus on my breath and believe in my inner strength,so instead of fighting back i just focus on to talk with myself ,order to move one muscle at time and give myself the time to slowly get back to reality...
But since i have having these Sp experiences many times before, sometimes just hearing sounds, feeling that someone wants to do me harm and seeing things happening around me although i am all alone at home.
I had a Sp this morning, i was unable to move but stile knew i was "awake"(had my eyes open, observed the room, but neither have a reaction or physical interaction with the space around me). The today morning was creepy because i am 3 months pregnant and i experienced that i was on Sp state and something invisible was going to my kitchen and take a knife to stick on my belly.
Yes, i have a Sleep Paralysis (once) in Hong Kong, (i saw the shadow person at the window, when i blink once, there a wind blow in my face and got Goose bumps).. in Sept 2001, then suddenly my family lifestyle change upside down? i would like to know... is it true.. when you have Sleep Paralysis suddenly life environment will change... like mother died, father, sister, brother change into selfish, greed?...
I've had this many of times. Normally when I have this particular experience my human instinct is curiosity, I expect the worse to happen to me, I look around with my eyes expecting something very demonic... it's bad to know. Other times this happens to me I believe I'm sleeping back at my mothers house, in my same room...
sorry i just dont know whether its the same and it scares me loads, but i ahvent had any weird sounds or anything like that, which is good because that would scare me more!
is this the same thing: im kind of half awake, then when i start to fall back asleep i feel concious like i know where i am etc, but i can't move, and like i can hear myself breathing really fast, and it sounds wierd but hear my heart pumping, and i dont really know how long it lasts but then i get out of it, move, try and sleep again and it happens again. i dont know whether its the same, but when it happens once i usually have to wake myself fully up before trying to sleep again cos its scary
Yes that is sleep paralysis everyone has it differently. The best way to wake back up is calm your body down its hard to but once you calm down you will wake back up don't struggle. Works form me and yes don't go back to sleep right away because it may happen again, iv been dealing for this for a few years it happens randomly best of luck to you.
I heard my heart pounding and of course the other stuff like unable to move and i felt my body vibrate even more then what i used to have it. It scared me so bad i thought i was going to
ha, found my answer, since what happened to me was this little girl walked in the room, looking at me, she had a white dress on and had no facial features, she fell and stumbled beside me, i looked away fearing the loud thump, then it felt like she forced me to look at her so suddenly i tried to call out to my dad "help" but couldn't speak nor move, it was the scariest thing ever, heard one cause was sleeping face upwards, i do it all the time to avoid wrinkles on my face when i get older so ah

The importance is focusing on breathing. There was one recent event where I could not inhale or exhale which was strange but I did the usual things with the pinkie and the leg, and woke up. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I never dream. Because If I dreamt, my sleep Paralysis would have been fatal.
I don't get it. Maybe I'm a lucky one, but when I undergo the sleep paralysis I never have the kind that projects hallucinogens, rather when it happens, I realize I am in that state. Then I focus on moving the pinkie finger, because what that does is actually enable my entire arm movement and enabling back the use of my body. If my hands are unfortunately under my body, then I try to move my leg with as much strength as I can to let it fall on the floor. This has been very successful.
Like a dream though, you learn to control it. When I feel it coming on I try to move to stop it from happening and if that dosen't work I try to have happy thoughts. It can feel really good.
When I have sp I feel it coming on, every time. I try real hard to get just a word out or a scream and to roll over, but I always have to suffer through it. The worst time was when it happened during the day. I was struggling to open my eyes and could feel something reaching into me. My heart was racing. When it's over I quiver in the covers for 5 to 10 minutes then fall back to sleep.
once I saw three meteorites coming to earth...onof these, the biggest one hit the planet on one of its sides and planet earth began revolving around this huge rock instead of the sun...everything became so dark...people were so scared and screaming out loud...I kept shouting that this darkness was because of the earth revolving around the huge stone...but they went on screaming.
Have had this happen several times in my life, my mind is awake; but my body is asleep. I had one positive experience where I felt warmth and love all around me like a cacoon. Sometimes nothing, but most of the time an feeling of an evil presence in the room. I've never seen anything, not that I remember. I've heard knocks, I've heard my mother calling my name, I've had the feeling of being slammed back into my bed; only to find 3 pictures came off the wall all broken....
The first time I had an experience of this sort, there was no SP involved. I have chronic back pain, and had been prescribed Oxycontin. It gave me lots of energy, but one bright sunny afternoon my back was hurting, and i went upstairs and laid down, dozed off. I awoke with the sensation of the mattress rising slightly, as if someone had just risen off me, and there was a sense of evil in the room. Very scary.
@voodoochildblu okay makes me feel better. It happened to me today after I took a nap, and I did drink the night before. I didn't binge drink though. I was scared as HELL dude. I heard this clicking noise in my ear and pressure on my head. Your comment is much appreciated.
Please, DESCRIBE the evil presence in your SP experience.
I don't know what mine are either, but I'll try. From the top of my wardrobe, near the foot of the bed, a pair of water-moccasin-looking snakes stared down at me with their extra big bony-wide heads; like on rattlers, and rolled into a ball and sang the "Going to Eat You' song, but they'ed sing it "gonna eat chu, gonna eat chu... yes sir re / hope you don't mind, hope you don't mind... gonna eat that part, too... "
I have SP (Sleep paralysis) all the time. But sometimes not all the time it scares me. But once you know what to do in that situation and why it happens it would no longer frighten you. I was born with SP and because of it I think that I have become a Lucid dreamer and have obtained a better understanding on why this happens. What I'm saying is I understand that it can be a frightening experience but I believe for me it has opened me up and has revealed something to me.
@gundam178 I have seen a lot of these documentaries and i know what is going to happen if this happens, can i by any chance feel confident that i know it's not there, and just laugh of the sounds and things that comes to kill me?
@SnakeEyesAndSevens Well...The first time it happened I felt like my cat was after me. I woke up and could see her sitting on my night stand. I loved this cat BTW. So after the screaming and loud groaning noise stopped and I could finally move I ran to my moms room and thought my cat was coming for me. Anyway. the second time, I woke up and could see people all around me. Dressed in clothing from the early 1900s. All talking and looking. this was after I could move again. Very crazy.
Yes, and many people say they can feel their body vibrate as they leave their body, and people also report hearing whirling sounds before they astral project.
It seems they only occur for me when I do bad things and all that shit. It happened to me awhile ago and I wasn't scared this time I felt safe and this time instead of fighting it I let it go and was able to focus and move my pointer finger. Then I woke up at exactly 1:11PM but the thing is this was the first time it happened in daylight. Anyone know what this could mean?
My most memerable SP experiences was when Martians came.
They said that the reason why I felt paralysis was because they had immoblized me with a tool that also doubled as an "up-the-smoker thing-y". And if I resisted them, I'd be experiencing this other function, too. In that particular way, I think they were very considerate of my feelings.
When it first happened to me I didnt really understand what was going on. I was in my bed i couldnt really move but i started to have like a seizure and my body floated up and went to my door and i woke up, my body felt like it was violently shaking. But after it happened a few times i became less afraid and they eventually stopped.
Same thing happened to me. Now they don't happen anymore. At some point I was like "Whatever. I'll just wait" And whenever I stopped giving a shit I woke up.
first time this happened. i remember i smoked some bud (not trying to be one of those annoying potheads, i just think it may have enhanced it), laying in bed. i think i might have taken a nap for just a few minutes and all of a sudden i was stuck in my bed. could not move, and i could not talk. right in front of me on my wall was an old lady on a rocking chair facing me! i heard weird sounds but her lips were not moving. scared the crap outta me! now i actually relax and enjoy them
I woke-up at night and felt OK, but when I tried to get out of bed, I couldn't move diddly. And it felt like somebody had put a small boulder right centered on by chest, but I could NOT see this thing. Then came 2 voices from the foot of my bed, and a few seconds later came the 2 martians that belong to those voices. They seemed to be arguing in beeps & honks and then one said to me " I'm alright, don't cha none be worried [a]bout me...
That's right, Pumpkin; it's a cross between Montrose - Make It Last and the Beatles, but more in the spirit of Montrose 'cause I'm more a rocker than a talker !
There's another one in that same comment, if you want to try to spot that one, too.
Gotta go now. It's about that time when the Martians come-over, and they're easily addled if I don't have Caddy Shack cued-up.
...its whatever you make it. its your body still paralysed from being asleep (or else youll act out your dreams) if you watch this and believe its a horrible thing then you will become very frightend and haunted by it. truth is we may never know the other half of it... if its aliens, evil spirits, your soul leaving ur body. that makes it even more interesting :)
I experience sleep paralysis all the time. people want others to believe it the devil or aliens or astral projection. every time i experience its different. the first time it was a evil spirit holding me down. another time aliens were gathered around me. another time it was a slug like insect laying on top of me. one time it turned sexual... and last night it just felt like my body was getting pushed off my bed. somtimes they are frightening, other times they are pleasureable. but my point is ..
Happens to me once in a while, maybe 3 or 4 times a year, but I always have my eyes closed and no matter how hard I try I can't open them, nor can I move. There's something in the room with me and I hear fuckin wierd noises and can't breathe. Experience lasts no longer than 15 seconds before I wake up.
Waaaiiiit a second. His research started in Newfoundland? Poor soul thinks he was taking data on sleep paralysis, when in reality he was just witnessing what Newfie Screech does..
kiiinda strange how all these kinda things only happen in america. i think its a cultural thing. in some cultures they might not even talk about this stuff cause they believe it is merely spiritual contact of some sorts, and they're not afraid of spirits. but overall like in terms of UFO's and ghost's and aliens, and this thing and pultergiest, all this stuff seems to manly happen in america. well the US to be spacific
@2pac2pac2pac100 fuck, still pretty scary bro. did you see anyone? or was it just the feeling of being held own? my friend said she could see a woman lyine in bed next to her
When I was young like 12 years old I was on my room sleeping and all the sudden I woke up with this feeling that something was with me on the room but I couldnt see it and at the momment I said too my self I need to get out of the bed i felt something grab my chest and was trying to rip my chest off my body I couldnt scream or move It pull me up twice and all the suddent it was gone like nothing happen what you call that?
@lancesavior Well, usually people experience sleep paralysis with the feeling of a presence but a lot of it I think is hallucinations. Your body is still asleep to an extent hence unable to move and your on the edge of a dream and being awake. It's like being awake but your kind of tripping out. Weird stuff.
i had this problem and some shadow or something was dancing at the foot of my bed swaying it's arms in a wave motion but i was sitting up rocking back and forth wide awake and i couldn't move.. it happened to me 5 times.
I had this once, a few months ago. A weird experience, it didn't feel like I was awake, nor asleep. It was during a nap at noon, I didn't want to start studying for my exam again, so I kept lying in my bed and started to sleep and sleep. I "woke up" and found myself unable to move, talk, i couldn't even open my eyes. It lasted about 5 min or so...
@ony651 I think it's just an illusion that you see in your mind while being at the paralysis stage. I am the same, too. While I have never seen any strange figure holding me down, I do see some weird things as well i.e. OBE (out of body experience, and dreams). The "panic" stage and cold sweat that comes with sleep paralysis I think is just your body's defense mechanism to it.
I first had sleep paralysis (and OBE) when I was in the 5th grade being sick with a bad flu. Since then I would have sleep paralysis every once in a while when I try to sleep but couldn't.
I had it once when I was about 15 or 16, I woke up and found out that I couldn't move except my head a tiny bit to the left and right, felt as though there was a presence of evil or danger and tried to call for help from my parents but only had whispery moans, then a figure about 6ft 4 with a completely blank face and dark cloak floated through my bedroom doorway, floated over to me, sat on my chest and I felt an immense pressure and then started to feel asphyxiated as it strangled me. Horrible.
I had a OBE and it felt soo weird. I have SP. I've been dealing with it for so long. my mom has it too. First there was a ringing in my ears and i saw a "shadow", I was paralyzed, couldn't breathe. Then I felt like i was pulled out of my body and to be honest it was kinda cool LOL but SP is not fun all the time.. Scary shit happens and I thought I was mentally unstable but now I know :p
Happened to me once while I was binging on alcohol and not sleeping properly. I woke up unable to move (paralysis) and there was a black demon-creature sitting on my chest and biting my neck. How friggin weird is it that everybody seems to experience one of the same characters- either the demon, the old hag or the man with the hat, almost makes you wonder if it is supernatural. Similar to how ppl who take DMT experience the same places and creatures.
@SixFootTallMidget So all brains are wired to see either the little demon, an old hag or a man with a hat? I think you would have a hard time proving that but even if that is the case then how friggin weird is that?
@SixFootTallMidget I am not saying that it is necessarily supernatural only that it is very curious that everybody records practically the same experiences. The subconscious mind is very deep and practically unknowable, but I happen to believe there is a bit of the "supernatural" involved with subconscious thought. So people have a subconcious fear of old women? I guess that would explain the whole "old witch" archetype found throughout literature.
@SixFootTallMidget I have a friend whose uncle (who was a heroin addict) would often have sleep paralysis and be visted by the old hag, he eventually died in his sleep by choking on his dentures, this terrified her parents because 2 weeks after his death both of them began to experience the "old hag" phenonmenon and it apparently troubled them enough that they sold their house.
@WorshipInTruth That's an anecdotal story, but whatever. I don't see how this is going to effect something that's just a physical biological psychological phenomenon. Selling your house I mean. Maybe they did it because someone died in their house.
It would be odd for me personally I know I would have my home sold (my mom would sell it she stated this exactly before as what she would do) if someone died in it.
@SixFootTallMidget I do not think they fully understood the whole "sleep paralysis" thing and how common it is. They were scared because their relative had just died in his sleep shortly after reporting the same experience they just started having.
@WorshipInTruth It it where demons or something of the like. It's uncanny how I always get them when I have a messed up sleeping schedule. If I sleep normally and consistently. I don't get them for awhile.
But recently. I've been sleeping randomly (basically) and I'm getting them nearly every day.
I'm logging it even, writing it down. I almost always sleep past 8 hours. If I wake up, and fall back to sleep.
@SixFootTallMidget Yeah, it is brought on by bad sleeping patterns. It only happened to me once and it was most certainly brought on by alcohol binging and a lack of sleep. I didn't even think much of it at the time as I just assumed it was some sort of dream state bleeding into reality but afterwards when I learned that this happens to others who see the same demon monster thing my interest was peaked.
@WorshipInTruth I'm a guy by the way. In the attacks as I call them, I sometimes feel like I'm being sodomized or that my penis is being touched. I also sometimes hear what sounds like the woman who raped me. I also have some suppressed memories.
@SixFootTallMidget You were raped by a woman? I am sorry that happened to you but it is pretty interesting, how old were you? What about the people who were never rape victims but also report a feeling of being raped or molested during sleep paralysis? I heard that it is usually women who have the whole "rape" thing involved with their paralysis.
@WorshipInTruth It's uncanny how my mom gets sleep attacks very similar to what I get, and she was abused by her dad. I've talked to random people, asked them if they feel like they're being raped in while sleep paralyzed. If they feel like they're being taken out of their bodies and attacked. Or if their body its self is being attacked.
I've found a pattern. Whatever you're scared of, especially if something bad actually happened to you.
@SixFootTallMidget That is the thing, that statistically what you said about "whatever you are afraid of happening to you" just doesn't appear to be the case, unless of course everybody has some subconscious fear of little snarling demons, old hags or men with large hats. For example, I have never heard of people experiencing snakes or anything like that, it always appears to be at least one of a few entities, that is one of the things I find so interesting.
@WorshipInTruth It is odd I will say that it is very odd. Warrants further study. People who are schizophrenic and hearing voices, tend to have negative voices. But not always.
I think a study of the phenomenon is prudent.
See if nearly everyone sees a demon or a hat wearing shadow or the old hag.
I was first "raped" in sleep paralysis, back in March of 2011. I was scared so damn fearful. Still am, but I found something. A pattern, it's not a demon, the first time it happened. The "demon" used the voice of the woman who raped me. I was traumatized by what happened to me as a child. Now I sometimes relive it.
I've gotten flashbacks and such to.
I've talked to a therapist, but I've really got to tell him about all of this.
I've done extensive research, it's not supernatural.
@WorshipInTruth But you have to believe me when I say it's hard not to think about it being supernatural. But every time I feel doubt, I go right back to the data.
I think about all the patterns, all the matching similarities.
It's not demonic, it is a biological happenstance, with psychological underpinnings.
At the most, you can say it's really really scary.
If anyone thinks it's demonic, then they're idiots.
Cause if you observe their logic, it's all superstitious grandeur.
@SixFootTallMidget Well... I think there is a possibility of it being extra-dimensional beings as it occurs during a conscious state which is neither sleep nor full awakeness. It has to do with the pineal gland which I find very interesting because of my research on DMT, are you at all familiar with DMT?
@SixFootTallMidget There are theories that the pineal gland is the key to inter-dimensional travel, just talk to anybody who took the proper dosages of DMT, they will tell you that they communicated with alien entities who explained things to them regarding the meaning of life and such. I believe that a lot of the "alien abduction" stories have to do with the pineal gland,I have a theory that DMT or some pineal gland awakening substance was being used on unsuspecting sleepers for experimentation
@SixFootTallMidget Yes, I know that DMT is naturally produced by the brain, it is involved with the sleep mechanism which is why I believe it has a role in the hallucinations involved with "sleep paralysis". Psychadelics will not not give you psychosis.
@SixFootTallMidget You should perhaps read up more on DMT studies, saying that it gets you "high" is an understatement, apparently the people who take it record literally being taken to another place as after they go through the tunnel (the same tunnel involved with near death experiences).
@WorshipInTruth So you're taking something to alter your mind? Yeah you're getting high. You want the emotional feeling, but like all these you get effects on your body mind and perceptions. It also creates strange beliefs which I think deludes you away from reality.
Near death experiences are just that near death experiences. It's the brain reacting to dying or possible death in this case. I won't talk to you about something like this, because it engages me in delusional thinking. Bye.
@SixFootTallMidget No, just because something is altering your mind doesn't mean it is getting you "high". You take mind altering drugs everyday (coffee is an example) but I doubt that they are getting you "high". DMT and other psychadelics will give you a change in consciousness, you probably do not even know what I mean by a "change in consciousness" unless you have taken mushrooms or something of the like. Drugs certainly can be dangerous, never heard of them causing "strange beliefs" though.
@SixFootTallMidget No, you clearly admitted that you wish to keep yourself from certain experiences and realms of understanding out of fear. To me that reeks of shallow mindedness. Perhaps your fear of falling into "delusional thought patterns" is because you realize (either consciousless or unsconsciously) that you are prone to them, in that case, it is perhaps best that you keep yourself from traveling to certain fields of thought.
@SixFootTallMidget No, a lot of people are more stable minded then you think. Certain drugs can definately cause cognitive damage if abused but they don't cause "delusional thinking". Slight paranoia may come with something like excessive cocaine use but nothing too serious. Some people could probably benefit from being a little more paranoid.
@SixFootTallMidget I am opposed to new age religion as well, it should be obvious from my channel that I am one of those "fundamentalist Christians" which people love to hate so much. But I take it upon myself to know as much as possible and my research into the DMT experience has been very interesting.
@WorshipInTruth Have fun with getting high and altering the way you think using substances to take you to another level of your personal consciousness. You can do that all you like, count me out of this discussion.
We where talking about sleep paralysis. You said it's odd that there are recurring themes. I explained why that is the case through several long messages. Then you talk about getting high to change your conscious perception of reality. Which is dangerous and will lead to delusion.
This is fucks you up evrytime man......I cant move, cant breath, slow heart beat , can hear the noise of the mike when wind blows continuously with increasing volume and intensity , when i wake up i see evrything white for 2-3 sec...and then i can roll my eyes but cant move a part , and the feeling that someone is there is inevitable!
But after 5-6 experiences im not scared..and know that i am dreaming while i am in the dream(lucid dreaming) But still it feels im not alone , AWSOME experience
ive suffered for years and though i dont know what causes it.ive found a way to make them stop.i do know when you tend to try and understand it you can stop it from happening with out drugs.though it may or may not be spirctual belief can be a strong tool.i do know that consiousness is neorological signals that can possibly be tap into as a resourse.
@livevil223 Hi, I am the same as you as I occasionally suffer from it whenever I have a hard time trying to sleep at night. Can you send me a PM on what you did to stop it?
@VF5 You have to allow or ignore it to stop when it occurs to you. Go to bed at the same times wake up at the times and it will go away eventually. Or try to have fun with it because you can do many things whenever it occurs, such as, lucid dreaming, or having vivid experiences (feel and touch anything in your imagination and unable to tell the difference between real life and dreaming). Just saying... ;-)
@1nspirator Yeah, sleep paralysis usually happens when you don't go to sleep at your normal time and being awake pass your normal sleeping hour. I don't try to have fun with sleep paralysis. When it happens to me, I forcefully wake myself up from it right away.
@ TheSillypig I usually only get it during short day naps also, on occasion though I will get it at night. Don't worry you're not the only one. I don't see strange things either, I just have very strange realistic dreams and then wake up, but in turn, I felt like I was awake the whole time. I've learned to like it, I feel lucky. Only a small amount of the population have this, and I feel like I am closer to the spiritual world, I do not believe in the bible, but a spirtual realm
I feel that half the vlogs on youtube are bullshit and that these people don't have it. I have it, I know I do, and it scares the fuck out of me, It happens at least once a week for me. I watched the science of sleep paralysis and it was great, I feel so much more comfortable. Now I am trying to have an OBE and control, I have not succeeded but now when it happens I don't get scared but very relaxed. When it happens, just relax and let it happen and you'll love it. Don't give in to bad thoughts
I just had a sp and found this vid trying to find more about it. Ive had several since I was 17, and always the same. I cant move but I try, at first it feels like im moving but then I realise Im not... I seem to be fully aware of my surroundings and I dont see any strange things appearing, and they seem to last no longer then a minute or two but Im not sure. I only get sp during short naps.
I had sp lastnight.. I could see 2 short dark images standing next to my side of the bed starring at me.I freaked the hell out and started shaking my head almost seizure like and trying to yell but nothing normal came out. This often happens and my wife will have to shake me so I can wake up. Most the time I deal with it and some times its just to much.
MOst of us don't believe in hell but what if our sp, was just the start of what hell really is like? It seems like my sp is all about scarying the crap out of me for days. I haven't had one in a month or two but every night I sleep by myself I always wonder if it will happen. After a a few months free of them you start to think it is over only to find your wrong and it all starts over.
I once woke up with a weight on my chest. I could hear something breathing that wasn't me and I couldnt move. I was scared, but I lost it I felt something move ever so slightly on my chest. I jumped out of bed, screaming and a dark figure flew across the room. When I turned the light on, I realised it was my cat, she had fallen asleep on my chest.
i usually try hard to wake up, thinking that if i go back to sleep i'll die ;) also i realize everything going around me sometimes even feel that there is someone in the room (my family member or a friend which is at home at the moment) but realize that it was hallucination after i wake up. btw it happens to me quite often and specially if i am tired or spent to much time trying to sleep
The only noise I hear is paper or dry leaves being blown around or stepped on. It creeps me out when I hear that noise because usually when I hear that noise it is too late to free myself from the dream.
I had i similar experience, I went into sleep paralysis and I couldn't move or breathe my eyes were open just a crack and i saw the same figure but it looked like death !!!(Grim Reaper sort of thing!) It was black and big, and it was coming towards me!!! I started panicing! I thought was going to die. And I tried to wake up, trying to shake and wake my self up. I was so upset and scared, even though i knew i was dreaming. And as soon as it reached my bed I woke up.Demons! How scary!
yes this happened to me last night i did not suffer with a hallucination this time it has affected me several time nw and most off the time i see a silowet under my bed cover pushing down on my body
Ive experienced this once or twice. The most memorable one was about my family. The "Killer" Slowly killed and tortured my family in front of me. After wiping his blade of blood he slowly moved towards me smiling. He cut out my organs and forced me to eat them. I felt every second of it. This is terrifying. On a lighter note the second time I was able to close my eyes and have a fun lucid dream.
The only time sleep paralysis happened to me I was in a abanded 3 decker apt building (it was being sold) I was homeless for the month of dec, me and my ex broke up and she booted me out, anyway there was only a matfrres on the floor and my sleeing bag, well in was in dec was so cold i went under the mattress, i woke to someone lying on top tof the mattress, and i was paralyzed for about 1 min i finally flung it off and there was no one there, no doubt a ghost laid on top of me
Also the way I was able to get it to leave was asking it to leave in the name of Jesus. J Hufford said that people who are not Christians also call to Jesus and the " things" will leave.
If it were our brains congering up "spooks" why would people across the world see the same "spooks"? I am glad this happened but I hope it will never happen again. It made me understand that for me....Jesus is very real, demons are very real. Also people have caught video and evps of very real voices and forms while the person is having the attack. My opionion again it is very real but I don't put down anyone elses views on it. .
HEY! if you have sleep paralysis this is a BETTER Documentary that medically EXPLAINS your conditions so you can have PEACE OF MIND /watch?v=xCSqT5nZ9n4&feature=related
I have it alot.. I feel things breathing on my neck or hear voices and stayin calm never works so I fight my way out. U cant scream ,talk or move. I take meds now cause I get so scared I get panic attacks :( damn u sleep paralyris
ive had this for over 7 years, but last night something unexplainable happened, read my story here! please if someone expirienced something as real as this plz message me serendipDOTbrynmawr.edu/exchange/node/1740
Few things i have picked up along the way that may help some, less sugar in my diet, no sugar or food three hours before bed time, and last but not least, a bit a marijuana before bed totally eliminates these occurences, might not work for everyone but totally worked for me, had to share. email if any questions
That's what happened to me..I was going to sleep..got startled and wanted to wake up..but I couldn't open my eyes..I was trying to sit up so much..but it took like two minutes for me to snap out of it! I hated that..it was dreadful.
lol one time I had a sleep paralysis, I heard a vacuum cleaner so I was thinking "ugh moom, enough with the cleaning and a little help hear?" XD turns out she wasn't even in the room. I accept my sleep paralysis quite casually :P
i never see any hallucinations all that happeneds to me is that my breathing starts to speed up all i see is black like i cant open my eyes and i cant move at all it scares me because when im able to move and i try to go to sleep again it happeneds again
I'm 15 and expirienced this the other day, i couldnt move and couldn't talk. i can't remeber seeing anything like a ghostly figure ect. i had leg cramps and heard noises but i felt lie i was fully aware what was going on, it lasted for about 15 seconds and i then moved my arm and went back to normal?
I don't find sleep paralysis terrifying at all. I've always had it ever since I was a child and I've always thought it was normal. To this day I feel like it's a spiritual session, or an out of body experience. I wish I could help those who find sleep paralysis scary.
I can help. I go through the same but then I make them run, I can share some verses from Quran if any one interested there is Surah Al Falak you should memorise it and try reading that in your mind when you are unable to move..
this makes them angry at first but when you don't give up and keep reading they run and you get control back ..
also i always have to sleep with a night light as the dark scares me now... it sound daft and unreal but people wouldn't understand unless it happened to them i was terrified and felt violated that i couldn't move my own body or scream, even though you say that its sleep paralysis it makes you think its something more, it does scare ya.
I would like to know more about this as i have had this happen to me on 4 occasions were some black cloaked thing ? was sat on top of my chest, unable to move only being able to open my eyes ever so slightly and not being able to scream out loud trying to fight it off me but couldn't apart from the fourth time i managed to fight it off and kick it and ever since it hasn't returned. I suppose i should be grateful that it hasn't but it still scares me now that it will happen again. .........
i had seen a black shadow face figure right next to mine i tried to tell it to go away atleast 5 times but could not speak loudly, i eventually tried so hard to scream go away until i was fully awake,
JOeDOnFTW 21 hours ago
My husband, myself, and two of my sons do this. My hubby feels like a ghost is trying to enter his soul. One son talks about shadow men, another son thrashes talks and walks. I get paralyzed and hover over myself and can see myself.

...Panicking or stressing will not help you. As many things in life we have to allowed it to happen, is just energies so let it live and watch it goes. Hope this self live experience can help someone else, because is helping me a lot.
God bless you all!!

Angelssplace 5 days ago
I had a Sp this morning, i was unable to move but stile knew i was "awake"(had my eyes open, observed the room, but neither have a reaction or physical interaction with the space around me). The today morning was creepy because i am 3 months pregnant and i experienced that i was on Sp state and something invisible was going to my kitchen and take a knife to stick on my belly.

I've had this many of times. Normally when I have this particular experience my human instinct is curiosity, I expect the worse to happen to me, I look around with my eyes expecting something very demonic... it's bad to know. Other times this happens to me I believe I'm sleeping back at my mothers house, in my same room...

is this the same thing: im kind of half awake, then when i start to fall back asleep i feel concious like i know where i am etc, but i can't move, and like i can hear myself breathing really fast, and it sounds wierd but hear my heart pumping, and i dont really know how long it lasts but then i get out of it, move, try and sleep again and it happens again. i dont know whether its the same, but when it happens once i usually have to wake myself fully up before trying to sleep again cos its scary
LoveTrishaKiss 1 week ago
@LoveTrishaKiss

RIFFSUAREZ 3 weeks ago
I don't get it. Maybe I'm a lucky one, but when I undergo the sleep paralysis I never have the kind that projects hallucinogens, rather when it happens, I realize I am in that state. Then I focus on moving the pinkie finger, because what that does is actually enable my entire arm movement and enabling back the use of my body. If my hands are unfortunately under my body, then I try to move my leg with as much strength as I can to let it fall on the floor. This has been very successful.
RIFFSUAREZ 3 weeks ago
Like a dream though, you learn to control it. When I feel it coming on I try to move to stop it from happening and if that dosen't work I try to have happy thoughts. It can feel really good.
TheGU174RM4N 3 weeks ago
When I have sp I feel it coming on, every time. I try real hard to get just a word out or a scream and to roll over, but I always have to suffer through it. The worst time was when it happened during the day. I was struggling to open my eyes and could feel something reaching into me. My heart was racing. When it's over I quiver in the covers for 5 to 10 minutes then fall back to sleep.

Very scary.

So after the screaming and loud groaning noise stopped and I could finally move I ran to my moms room and thought my cat was coming for me. Anyway. the second time, I woke up and could see people all around me. Dressed in clothing from the early 1900s. All talking and looking. this was after I could move again. Very crazy.

Anyone know what this could mean?
talkingXtoXtheXmoon 2 months ago in playlist Sleep Paralysis
My most memerable SP experiences was when Martians came.
They said that the reason why I felt paralysis was because they had immoblized me with a tool that also doubled as an "up-the-smoker thing-y". And if I resisted them, I'd be experiencing this other function, too. In that particular way, I think they were very considerate of my feelings.
SnakeEyesAndSevens 2 months ago

first time this happened. i remember i smoked some bud (not trying to be one of those annoying potheads, i just think it may have enhanced it), laying in bed. i think i might have taken a nap for just a few minutes and all of a sudden i was stuck in my bed. could not move, and i could not talk. right in front of me on my wall was an old lady on a rocking chair facing me! i heard weird sounds but her lips were not moving. scared the crap outta me! now i actually relax and enjoy them
bigmeanyhead 2 months ago
I was seventeen, and you know what that means.

@lancesavior Well, usually people experience sleep paralysis with the feeling of a presence but a lot of it I think is hallucinations. It was during a nap at noon, I didn't want to start studying for my exam again, so I kept lying in my bed and started to sleep and sleep. I "woke up" and found myself unable to move, talk, i couldn't even open my eyes. It lasted about 5 min or so...
FonkayMonkay66 3 months ago
@ony651 I think it's just an illusion that you see in your mind while being at the paralysis stage. I am the same, too. While I have never seen any strange figure holding me down, I do see some weird things as well i.e. OBE (out of body experience, and dreams). The "panic" stage and cold sweat that comes with sleep paralysis I think is just your body's defense mechanism to it.
VF5 3 months ago
I first had sleep paralysis (and OBE) when I was in the 5th grade being sick with a bad flu. Since then I would have sleep paralysis every once in a while when I try to sleep but couldn't.
VF5 3 months ago
I had it once when I was about 15 or 16, I woke up and found out that I couldn't move except my head a tiny bit to the left and right, felt as though there was a presence of evil or danger and tried to call for help from my parents but only had whispery moans, then a figure about 6ft 4 with a completely blank face and dark cloak floated through my bedroom doorway, floated over to me, sat on my chest and I felt an immense pressure and then started to feel asphyxiated as it strangled me. Horrible.

WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth It's how the brain is wired up, go at it from there people.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget So all brains are wired to see either the little demon, an old hag or a man with a hat? I think you would have a hard time proving that but even if that is the case then how friggin weird is that?
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth It's how our subconscious works, what do people generally find scary? Darkness. What do they find scary also, being helpless.
You see, the brain is wired up to see certain things a certain way.
I've never seen the old-hag but I've had what feels like someone laying on me.
I've even felt like I was being raped. That was because I was molested as a child.
I've found many parallels between what we fear alike.
Sleep paralysis just makes it all come out.
Seriously, damn good at it.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget I am not saying that it is necessarily supernatural only that it is very curious that everybody records practically the same experiences. The subconscious mind is very deep and practically unknowable, but I happen to believe there is a bit of the "supernatural" involved with subconscious thought. So people have a subconcious fear of old women? I guess that would explain the whole "old witch" archetype found throughout literature.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth I've never seen her. But I get the whole pressure on the chest thing, followed by hallucinations.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget I have a friend whose uncle (who was a heroin addict) would often have sleep paralysis and be visted by the old hag, he eventually died in his sleep by choking on his dentures, this terrified her parents because 2 weeks after his death both of them began to experience the "old hag" phenonmenon and it apparently troubled them enough that they sold their house.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth That's an anecdotal story, but whatever. I don't see how this is going to effect something that's just a physical biological psychological phenomenon. Selling your house I mean. Maybe they did it because someone died in their house.
It would be odd for me personally I know I would have my home sold (my mom would sell it she stated this exactly before as what she would do) if someone died in it.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget I do not think they fully understood the whole "sleep paralysis" thing and how common it is. They were scared because their relative had just died in his sleep shortly after reporting the same experience they just started having.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth It it where demons or something of the like. It's uncanny how I always get them when I have a messed up sleeping schedule. If I sleep normally and consistently. I don't get them for awhile.
But recently. I've been sleeping randomly (basically) and I'm getting them nearly every day.
I'm logging it even, writing it down. I almost always sleep past 8 hours. If I wake up, and fall back to sleep.
chances go WAY up.
Demons?
Nonsense.
Why would a demon need that? lol
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget Yeah, it is brought on by bad sleeping patterns. It only happened to me once and it was most certainly brought on by alcohol binging and a lack of sleep. I didn't even think much of it at the time as I just assumed it was some sort of dream state bleeding into reality but afterwards when I learned that this happens to others who see the same demon monster thing my interest was peaked.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth It's not a demon, but yes it's interesting that people have alike fears. Which is very prevalent in hollywood media.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth I'm a guy by the way. In the attacks as I call them, I sometimes feel like I'm being sodomized or that my penis is being touched. I also sometimes hear what sounds like the woman who raped me. I also have some suppressed memories.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget You were raped by a woman? I am sorry that happened to you but it is pretty interesting, how old were you? What about the people who were never rape victims but also report a feeling of being raped or molested during sleep paralysis? I heard that it is usually women who have the whole "rape" thing involved with their paralysis.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth It's uncanny how my mom gets sleep attacks very similar to what I get, and she was abused by her dad. I've talked to random people, asked them if they feel like they're being raped in while sleep paralyzed. If they feel like they're being taken out of their bodies and attacked. Or if their body its self is being attacked.
I've found a pattern. Whatever you're scared of, especially if something bad actually happened to you.
You will find it in sleep paralysis.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget That is the thing, that statistically what you said about "whatever you are afraid of happening to you" just doesn't appear to be the case, unless of course everybody has some subconscious fear of little snarling demons, old hags or men with large hats. For example, I have never heard of people experiencing snakes or anything like that, it always appears to be at least one of a few entities, that is one of the things I find so interesting.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth It is odd I will say that it is very odd. Warrants further study. People who are schizophrenic and hearing voices, tend to have negative voices. But not always.
I think a study of the phenomenon is prudent.
See if nearly everyone sees a demon or a hat wearing shadow or the old hag.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
I was first "raped" in sleep paralysis, back in March of 2011. I was scared so damn fearful. Still am, but I found something. A pattern, it's not a demon, the first time it happened. The "demon" used the voice of the woman who raped me. I was traumatized by what happened to me as a child. Now I sometimes relive it.
I've gotten flashbacks and such to.
I've talked to a therapist, but I've really got to tell him about all of this.
I've done extensive research, it's not supernatural.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth But you have to believe me when I say it's hard not to think about it being supernatural. But every time I feel doubt, I go right back to the data.
I think about all the patterns, all the matching similarities.
It's not demonic, it is a biological happenstance, with psychological underpinnings.
At the most, you can say it's really really scary.
If anyone thinks it's demonic, then they're idiots.
Cause if you observe their logic, it's all superstitious grandeur.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget Well... I think there is a possibility of it being extra-dimensional beings as it occurs during a conscious state which is neither sleep nor full awakeness. It has to do with the pineal gland which I find very interesting because of my research on DMT, are you at all familiar with DMT?
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget There are theories that the pineal gland is the key to inter-dimensional travel, just talk to anybody who took the proper dosages of DMT, they will tell you that they communicated with alien entities who explained things to them regarding the meaning of life and such. I believe that a lot of the "alien abduction" stories have to do with the pineal gland,I have a theory that DMT or some pineal gland awakening substance was being used on unsuspecting sleepers for experimentation
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth Why would you have that theory? DMT is naturally produced by the brain.
There is no such evidence to suggest that the penal gland allows you to somehow be aware of other dimensions when you're high...
Stay away from drugs, it will give you psychosis.
Which is all they can do for you at best, other than getting you high which is all it can do.
The penal gland just regulates hormones. Not some New Age fluffy headed reason to get high.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget Yes, I know that DMT is naturally produced by the brain, it is involved with the sleep mechanism which is why I believe it has a role in the hallucinations involved with "sleep paralysis". Psychadelics will not not give you psychosis.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget You should perhaps read up more on DMT studies, saying that it gets you "high" is an understatement, apparently the people who take it record literally being taken to another place as after they go through the tunnel (the same tunnel involved with near death experiences).
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth So you're taking something to alter your mind? Yeah you're getting high. You want the emotional feeling, but like all these you get effects on your body mind and perceptions. It also creates strange beliefs which I think deludes you away from reality.
Near death experiences are just that near death experiences. It's the brain reacting to dying or possible death in this case. I won't talk to you about something like this, because it engages me in delusional thinking. Bye.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget No, just because something is altering your mind doesn't mean it is getting you "high". You take mind altering drugs everyday (coffee is an example) but I doubt that they are getting you "high". DMT and other psychadelics will give you a change in consciousness, you probably do not even know what I mean by a "change in consciousness" unless you have taken mushrooms or something of the like. Drugs certainly can be dangerous, never heard of them causing "strange beliefs" though.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget I can see that you are not a very open minded individual. Have fun with that.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth I am open minded, I just found that some things are bullshit.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget No, you clearly admitted that you wish to keep yourself from certain experiences and realms of understanding out of fear. To me that reeks of shallow mindedness. Perhaps your fear of falling into "delusional thought patterns" is because you realize (either consciousless or unsconsciously) that you are prone to them, in that case, it is perhaps best that you keep yourself from traveling to certain fields of thought.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth Everyone is prone to them, especially if you take drugs.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget No, a lot of people are more stable minded then you think. Certain drugs can definately cause cognitive damage if abused but they don't cause "delusional thinking". Slight paranoia may come with something like excessive cocaine use but nothing too serious. Some people could probably benefit from being a little more paranoid.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth I will not open up to New Age thinking. End.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@SixFootTallMidget I am opposed to new age religion as well, it should be obvious from my channel that I am one of those "fundamentalist Christians" which people love to hate so much. But I take it upon myself to know as much as possible and my research into the DMT experience has been very interesting.
WorshipInTruth 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth Have fun with getting high and altering the way you think using substances to take you to another level of your personal consciousness. You can do that all you like, count me out of this discussion.
We where talking about sleep paralysis. You said it's odd that there are recurring themes. I explained why that is the case through several long messages. Then you talk about getting high to change your conscious perception of reality. Which is dangerous and will lead to delusion.
SixFootTallMidget 3 months ago
@WorshipInTruth Dude, stay the hell away from drugs. It will warp your mind. I'm serious.

@WorshipInTruth I'm done talking to you.

But after 5-6 experiences im not scared..and know that i am dreaming while i am in the dream(lucid dreaming) But still it feels im not alone , AWSOME experience

ive suffered for years and though i dont know what causes it.ive found a way to make them stop.i do know when you tend to try and understand it you can stop it from happening with out drugs.though it may or may not be spirctual belief can be a strong tool.i do know that consiousness is neorological signals that can possibly be tap into as a resourse.
livevil223 4 months ago
@livevil223 Hi, I am the same as you as I occasionally suffer from it whenever I have a hard time trying to sleep at night. Can you send me a PM on what you did to stop it?
VF5 3 months ago
@VF5 You have to allow or ignore it to stop when it occurs to you. Go to bed at the same times wake up at the times and it will go away eventually. Or try to have fun with it because you can do many things whenever it occurs, such as, lucid dreaming, or having vivid experiences (feel and touch anything in your imagination and unable to tell the difference between real life and dreaming). Just saying... ;-)
1nspirator 3 months ago in playlist Sleep Paralysis
@1nspirator Yeah, sleep paralysis usually happens when you don't go to sleep at your normal time and being awake pass your normal sleeping hour. I don't try to have fun with sleep paralysis. When it happens to me, I forcefully wake myself up from it right away.
VF5 3 months ago
@ TheSillypig I usually only get it during short day naps also, on occasion though I will get it at night. Don't worry you're not the only one. I don't see strange things either, I just have very strange realistic dreams and then wake up, but in turn, I felt like I was awake the whole time. I've learned to like it, I feel lucky. Only a small amount of the population have this, and I feel like I am closer to the spiritual world, I do not believe in the bible, but a spirtual realm
guyonthecouch02 4 months ago
I feel that half the vlogs on youtube are bullshit and that these people don't have it. I have it, I know I do, and it scares the fuck out of me, It happens at least once a week for me. I watched the science of sleep paralysis and it was great, I feel so much more comfortable. Now I am trying to have an OBE and control, I have not succeeded but now when it happens I don't get scared but very relaxed. When it happens, just relax and let it happen and you'll love it. Don't give in to bad thoughts
guyonthecouch02 4 months ago
@guyonthecouch02 I think this can lead to sleep induced epilepsy.

TheSillypig 4 months ago
Why do people have to mock religious beliefs at every opportunity for no reason whatsoever, just watch the video and learn for yourself!
bustergaa 4 months ago
I had sp lastnight.. I could see 2 short dark images standing next to my side of the bed starring at me.I freaked the hell out and started shaking my head almost seizure like and trying to yell but nothing normal came out. This often happens and my wife will have to shake me so I can wake up. Most the time I deal with it and some times its just to much.
MrRagingbull480 5 months ago

When I turned the light on, I realised it was my cat, she had fallen asleep on my chest.
imabadking 5 months ago
i usually try hard to wake up, thinking that if i go back to sleep i'll die ;) also i realize everything going around me sometimes even feel that there is someone in the room (my family member or a friend which is at home at the moment) but realize that it was hallucination after i wake up. btw it happens to me quite often and specially if i am tired or spent to much time trying to sleep
THEHARU671 5 months ago
The only noise I hear is paper or dry leaves being blown around or stepped on. It creeps me out when I hear that noise because usually when I hear that noise it is too late to free myself from the dream.
Kyjo34 5 months ago
I had i similar experience, I went into sleep paralysis and I couldn't move or breathe my eyes were open just a crack and i saw the same figure but it looked like death !!!(Grim Reaper sort of thing!) It was black and big, and it was coming towards me!!! I started panicing! I thought was going to die. And I tried to wake up, trying to shake and wake my self up. I was so upset and scared, even though i knew i was dreaming. And as soon as it reached my bed I woke up.Demons! How scary!

This happens to me sometimes. I will wake up and can't move, and then something will be floating above me, then i finally wake up.Creepy

yes this happened to me last night i did not suffer with a hallucination this time it has affected me several time nw and most off the time i see a silowet under my bed cover pushing down on my body
djkbapbap 6 months ago

My opionion again it is very real but I don't put down anyone elses views on it. .

Few things i have picked up along the way that may help some, less sugar in my diet, no sugar or food three hours before bed time, and last but not least, a bit a marijuana before bed totally eliminates these occurences, might not work for everyone but totally worked for me, had to share. email if any questions

I wish I could help those who find sleep paralysis scary.
pulseofthemaggotgirl 7 months ago
I can help. I go through the same but then I make them run, I can share some verses from Quran if any one interested there is Surah Al Falak you should memorise it and try reading that in your mind when you are unable to move..
this makes them angry at first but when you don't give up and keep reading they run and you get control back ..

also i always have to sleep with a night light as the dark scares me now... it sound daft and unreal but people wouldn't understand unless it happened to them i was terrified and felt violated that i couldn't move my own body or scream, even though you say that its sleep paralysis it makes you think its something more, it does scare ya.
pooley37 7 months ago
I would like to know more about this as i have had this happen to me on 4 occasions were some black cloaked thing ? was sat on top of my chest, unable to move only being able to open my eyes ever so slightly and not being able to scream out loud trying to fight it off me but couldn't apart from the fourth time i managed to fight it off and kick it and ever since it hasn't returned. I suppose i should be grateful that it hasn't but it still scares me now that it will happen again. .........
