  • Hey guys I usually go by the 8-12 rep range for triceps, why is he doing 20? Should I be doing higher reps?

  • @Ohjjin it might be because he wont get enough of a pump off just doin 8-12. i suppose he could have just stuck a 10 or 15 plate on it as well and done 12-15 or maybe theres another reason. i always stick a plate on and do 10 -12 and never do 20 lyk

  • @bboytrix1 its hard to stick playes onmachines like that... or even if u get them in there when u start doing the movement they get caught and slam on something inside haha

  • @Ohjjin i was wondering that myself, but then on one of his videos in the description he explains that relatively smaller muscle groups like the triceps need high volume workouts, esp after already having them pumped from chest and/or shoulder workouts. i cant find the original video but u can pause and get a glimpse of it in this video /watch?v=s12dR1sn5sk&feature=f­eedrec_grec_index

  • Why do you think training to failure is a necessity? There are many ways to achieve muscular hypertrophy not taking the muscle to failure.

    I do 3 minimum.

  • He has already worked his triceps out extensively doing chest and shoulders in the same workout. Trust me, you would be over working your triceps and thus be counterproductive to mass gaining if you trained them as a complete bodypart at that point. Also, Kevin has done this for 20 years, I think he knows what he is doing.

  • Those arms are about 20 inches pumped. Especially if Kevin said that he measured them at 19 inches cold just the other day. That is crazy when a pro can lay off lifting for four years, still have around18 inch arms, then come back and hit 20 inches in four weeks of workouts without steroids, thus far. I really do hope Kevin is doing this naturally. I understand he may use some other supps (creatine, fatburners, etc), but doing this naturally will really open some eyes about the genes of a pro.

  • Yeah, I saw that interview and I really hope he is being truthful. I don't think he would not be since he doesn't need to take gear to gain good weight and he isn't competing. I think his physique will be pretty friggin' amazing when he gets done. Kevin has some of the best if not the best genetics in bodybuilding history (maybe 2nd to Wheeler) and I want to see just how far he can go on genes alone without steroids.
