As per Wikipedia: "The term [Barbeque/BBQ] as a noun can refer to the meat, the cooking apparatus itself (the "Barbecue grill" or simply "Barbecue") or to a party that includes such food or such preparation methods...a social gathering where food is served, usually outdoors in the late afternoon or evening."

Wikipedia isn't research based. Sometimes it can be correct and sometimes it can be whatever people want to put on it. The aaparatus you're writing about is an outdoor grill...people that don't know any better call it a BBQ.

What is the name given to ANY social event that DESCRIBES something taking place of that event in order to make it clear to people who are invited/whatever.
