  • what does BD actually stand for? It's an acronym for what?

  • @aldeb456 BD= Blu ray Disc

  • I love blu-ray, but predict a short life of three or four more years. Everything will be digital download content only from now on

  • sooooo

    i have redray player!

  • @qazwertyjohn2 aka a DVD player rofl

  • bd live fucking sucks i mean all it is is to see stoped trailers i mean i was tryign to watch wolfman and i could not play it cause we did not have bd live fuck the person who made that fucking idea i mean i guess its ok but you should still be able to watch a movie you paid for with or with out tehf ucking bull shit bd live if any one can tell me how to get it off please tell me

  • @darkslayer157 perhaps your player needs an update.. you can find it on the manufacturers website hope that helps

  • nice

  • So far cant get my Philips BDP3000 to connect with this BD Live thingy. I singed up to Universal as the Bourne films have this BD Live thingy me jig that seems to be unimpressive at the moment or Ive missed a simple step? It says log on from the bluray player???

  • @EmpireLS56KW You need to connect the player to the internet.

  • Blu Ray rulez!!!

  • i prefer to call DVD's Digital Versatile Discs because you can play videogames with them besides videos. Blu Rays use a shorter wavelength than DVD, thats why you can fill it with more information. JerryAltman made a great point that Blue Rays can hold more information and fill up a bigger screen a lot better but the industry still compresses the video content with the same technology as DVDs so when you pause the screen you will still see a loss of quality unfortunately.

  • DVDs are Digital Versatile Discs because they can not only store videogames, but also any data really. (like a flash drive). lol

  • I rented AVP requiem but theres no BD-live content on it :(

  • avp requiem was a crappy movie sorry if you liked it

  • oh yea? well just wait till the aliens come looking for you, pal

  • lol it was bad

  • you shouldnt have done that.

  • I saw many full resolution screen captures of Blue Ray. Images are not sharp, even for modern films. Many editions have very softed image and blured details. It's not like a scanned image in the sme resolution. And bring the same mistakes of DVD. Video compression it's responsible for many lost of details on image.

  • Agree and its been label as the perfect format. I have 6 Bluray titles so far and one of them is in no way transparent with the film. Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines has green smearing on the image that should be pure white. Look for when the Terminator arrives, the T-101 the sphere is smeared in green YUCK! Its the same on DVD and I thought this issue would have been sorted for Bluray.

  • ne1 want to chat?

  • Wait... this isa BD-LIVE demo... wouldnt it be a sony tv?

  • Can't imagen that games would come with the movies. They just want to sell games through download. Similar to the way it's done on cell phones.

  • LOL he said DVD.

  • bluray is a DVD type, so in general, u CAN call a bluray disc a DVD

  • they're different..lol

  • well bluray is the master of all DVDs, the top on the market and quality. HD-DVD is defferent than Blu-ray but Blu-ray is a DVD format disc. DVD stands for Digital Video Disc, Blu-ray is a digital video disc (DVD).

  • DVD is Digital Versatile Disc since you can also record just audio on it

  • lol, thanks for the info, wikipedia is wrong then, again

  • gimmick. just gimme the movie guys

  • Blu-ray Rules!

  • Panasonic 42" Viera and getting my PS3 delivered tomorrow.
