I've used simmons ul 4 glove and blocker for the past 3 years now switching to the 996's cuz the ul4's are getting old and im getting more n more stingers.

But the ul4 glove is without a doubt the best glove ive ever used in term of performance. You need absolutly no effort to break it in and even when its almost new its so easy to close.The blocker was pretty amazing too but after a few years it became kinda loose and when id get shots right in the middle of the blocker id feel it.

Terrible positioning on a lot of the shots.. you can tell by the position of the feet in relation to the edge of the crease. One skates heel is in the crease the other heel is in front of the crease.

Love the pads! You move very smoothly! I just purchased a pair of these pads in a 32 + 2. I'm 5 foot 5, but stocky. I can't wait for the UL 4 to come in the mail. : )

I don't know why but I absolutely HATE when a goalie always goes on the ground,no matter what the situation is. I understand the purpase of the butterfly style but seriously,your limiting yourself so much for rebounds,it's ridiculous. Hybrid style FTW!

@ironz18 There are many benefits to a pure b-fly style, very few of which outweigh the benefits of the hybrid style.

I have try a mix of b-fly and hybrid, where I b-fly for anything in close or low, and continue movement low, and I like it more.

As long as you're able to stay under control, it is a great style

I had 32" Simmons 993 Pads. I am 5'6" They were the most AMAZING pad i have EVER had. RBKs are junk, TPS are good. I now have 32+1" Vaughn Velocity 2's. They are very good, But honestly, I like more flexibility for my "S" butterfly. Simmons 993 are Lighter then Vaughn Velocitys (because they are made with cheaper material). All in all, Simmons is fuckin sexy!

I have to say ,compared to the quality of my rbk's, the simmons U4 material quality is like 10x better than those of my 8k's, after 3 weeks of having the rbk's the material is ripping and i calling customer service tommorow, I had my simmons for 1 year and the material condition was a lot better after 1 year, than my rbks after 3 weeks. But i like the Rbk's so much more for when I play, the simmons were just not comfortable.

Ok, Ill give you that, but you can't complain when it falls apart. It was made in china. The 8k's are medium end pads, and the UL4's are supposed to be top end. It would only do Reebok justice if you compared the UL4's to the Premier 2's. Obviously the UL4's will be better then a lower end pad.

i used to have rbk and ive now had my simmons for a hile and the biggest difference is that the rbk's are alot stiffer and with the simmons your weight is pushed to the back of your footwhen you butterfy and in my rbk's i used to push with my toe and your weight is pushed towards the front which i find gives you more balance.I love the simmons gloves though and the pads are pretty good too. I would buy simmons again.

Montreal91 is right, simmons pads are 95% other company's designs and technology, and around 5% their own technology. Notice how they use the same face, knee cradle, toe. etc. as vaughn? notice how other models they've produced in the past are almost identical to koho(now rbk incase you didn't know.) They are not only ripping off other company's, their pads are made with much lower quality materials and craftsmanship. If you can't afford the high end gear, you probably shouldn't be a tender.

the vaughn pad desighner used to work for simmons and gave them all the ideas then got fired for givin the desighns to vaughn, then he went to work for vaughn so simmons had the desighns at the same time as vaughn if not before. thank you google!
