@BSMindProducions same thing happened to me. First band that was heavy that I started to listen to, aside from "Metallica" who seemed heavy to me at the time, was Trivium. I listened to them because instrumentally, their music was amazing. once I start to read what they are saying, I was taken away with what it means. Heck, even what the word Trivium means, grammar, logic, and rhetoric.

I grew up with this band. I know I'm not the 'biggest fan in the world', but I will always love Our Lady Peace. I've liked there new and old songs, both. OLP is one of the few bands I see today that have meaning in the lyrics. I've always admired OLP and it has ALWAYS been my favortie band for that. It is honestly the best band I will ever listen to.

@emcon444 there are bands now-a-days that have meaningful lyrics. you just have to stay away from the main stream. Suprisingly a genre that has some of the most inspiring lyrics is melodic death metal, or progressive metal. Bands include, In Flames, Trivium, Opeth, and Killswitch Engage. There are more, but those are just 4 bands that have very meaningful lyrics. Sometimes, they can be hard to interpret, but one day they can all make sense to you.
