    i want a swappable engine, but i just want drive my stock 6Spd gearbox, maybe change rear diff, because, it have no limited slip inside

  • I just bought an "Import Tuner" magazine (Jan. 2011) with this IS300 featured in it.........It was then that I realized that I had run into this guy on the 59th street bridge in NYC.

    Before getting on the bridge I had asked him to demonstrate the power of his IS300......so he agreed. I was following behind him (in my Mom's G35xS 306bhp).......then in second gear he hit full boost, spinning the tires and fishtailing; then shifted into 3rd gear and pulled HARD........I couldn't keep up!!

  • is this stock vvti bottom end? I dont think so... older version 2jzge has gte rods, but is300 ones are maxed out at about 450hp. You must have swapped gte or older version internals. Old time club NA-T member here ;)

  • its a ge but you can get TT internals or aftermarket ones, slap a turbo on there and you basically got a gte...

  • @TheWTFers the 2jz-ge is very similar to the GTE. They got the same internals and all that so it's quite easy to make a 2jz-ge into a boostable turbo engine. One big single turbo produces more power then two smaller twin turbos, if you don't mind some turbo lag, then single is the way to go :)

    internals are not the same from GE and GTE.... the GE internals are weaker, they can only handle about 600hp before the rods start to develop stress cracks and the piston ring lands start to collapse...

    GTE internals can support a CONSTANT 800-1000hp.

    But there are the rare cases where i've seen them make 1300hp on street driven drag supras.

    I personally witnessed a MKIV built by Titan, using a stock bottom end GTE with around 60k miles, using a GT55R make 1256hp when the motor blew

    Sure the block design make be similar, but the internals and head design are much different.

    -SRT custom Stage 2 port and polished 2JZ-GE head

    -HKS 264/264 camshafts

    -SRT ver. 2 intake manifold

    ...those right there are the main reason he hit 850rwhp

    Most people with GTE bottom end, a GTE style intake, some cams and a T67 w/ 81. a/r are hitting 680-730rwhp.

    This car is sick and a inspiration. It'd be nice if "JS" brought it down to TX for the TX2K10 Supra meet this year.

  • So this one is just the 2jz-ge? The camshaft its self is like $1000, anything cheaper? Seams like the camshaft has a lot to do with it. What about making it twin turbo?

  • It's a built engine. It's been designed to take that much boost and spin past the factory redline.

  • Damn, sick pull there. I see it's got a Supra Swap into the engine bay. What kind of a turbo setup are you running? Very nice <coming from a turbo IS owner himself.

  • Actually It looks like a supra swap but it is the regular 2jz with a bulit bottom end and a GTE style Intake. Looks like the swift racing intake.
