It started with Cape Gannet chicks and has been progressing to other small bird species. Fish are becoming harder to find and pigeons are easy prey. Thier dumb, slow, and don't scare easily enough to know when to run.

You obviously don't know much about pigeons if you think they are slow. On average, they fly around 50mph, but can have bursts up to over 100mph for short distances. Also, it's not a sign of stupidity or "not scaring easily enough" just because you don't quickly run away from something that's not normally a predator. Do you run away every time you see deer? No, because we don't normally see deer as a threat, but they could kill you if they tried.

Try to get your facts straight.

That's a very rare thing to see one bird species like a Pelican , who does not seem predatorial like a Hawk, eat another bird like that. A hawk eating a bird does not seem as shocking. It's quick, and the hawk just snaps the little birds it eats when it catches them. A Pelican just engulfed that pigeon for it to suffocate. Insane video footage. That's why it was on the news :)
