On another video he says, "when I'm connected to everyone, I disappear". What does he mean about it? Doesnt it sounds familiar? The technology we are using and stuff like that in our modern world right now... And some says he is Antichrist, some believe he is a good person, so I donno what to believe... And he owns the world international bank in America. This is little confusing to me. Anyone please explain, who is this man?
why should we notice a Man, which is obviusely supportet by whealty elitare Individuals, just another bubbeling illegal Sohn of Rotschild, which was broad in, to deceive as, and has no clou about the real Life of Billions of People. They all drink wine, and tell as, we should drink water! Just shut up!
Yeah!!! Go Raj! Finally someone is telling it like it is, and maybe getting listened too. Either we, (as in, ALL man kind) starts doing EXACTLY what this guy suggest, or we WILL meet our own bitter end!!! God damn the comercialists who have been raping us and our planet!!
The French of 1789 had the right idea of how to deal with that kind of parisite!
Raj is a good man. He is not Maitreya or the Antichrist. There is no god or antichrist or satan. Wake up and stop making this man out to be evil. He's much more intelligent and hard working than you are!! I wish him well and hope he can make a positive change for the world.
If you want to see socialism that works in real life look at the examples of Kerala, Belo Horizonte, Chiapas and the experiments of La Via Campesino and its allies. They have done very well socially and ecologically. "Human nature" is a convenient excuse to argue against meaningful change. Human nature has good and bad aspects and people adopt to fit in whatever system they are in. And capitalism brings out the humanity's worst aspects, by rewarding self-interest and punishing solidarity.
So billions go hungry and live in misery and we destroy the ecosystems that sustain us so that the small minority of us that controls most of the capital and makes most of the decisions can stay in their zero sum game. The simple fact is that capitalism has been a disaster when measured by any social or ecological criteria.
And it has to be this way because if businesses don't maximise profit at the expense of everything else they lose in competition and go out of business and because social costs are externalised from prices so the cheapest way to make profit is to externalise costs on society and internalise the benefits as profits. Hence, it is more profitable to dump pollution than clean it up and it is more profitable to underpay farmers to the point that they starve than to pay them fairly.
The problem with Mr. Patel, socialism and its brother communism is the fact that it seems to always work on paper. Unfortunately, Mr. Patel never figures one ingredient which makes socialism and communism fail every single time it has been tried in modern history, and that my friends, is human nature which is always self severing. The best economic model ever tried and succeeded has been the American model of free enterprise. It allows and encourages people to be as productive as possible!
One can only say that capitalism has "succeeded" by measuring success in a very antisocial way. The rate of extinctions is currently between 1,000 and 10,000 times the normal rate; 2 billion people are seriously or chronically malnourished; 36 million people die of hunger every year; 56% of the world's children are severely deprived according to UNICEFs conservative criteria; and a small group of corporations control the majority of the world's markets and profit immensely from this destruction.
@benzobug sounds good, but whats happeing here is total GOVT/CORP take over. so essentially its the same as communism now isnt it? These big CORPS make huge financial contributions to GOVT .. of course the GOVT remember the contributions and in return favor the corp with de regulation and subsidies and whatnot.
After time, this is a disaster and you have a huge monopolistic tyranny communist type of control over the worlds food supply.
@2hottie69 What dfoes it say about someone who has the choice of thousands of ID anems, but chooses2hottie69 ? If satan exists, maybe you should go to his/her facebook page. your argument is boring and pro-god, LOL
@2hottie69 Yes, let's put the word "god" back in "goddammit". If you want to see "satan in the flesh", simply turn on any christian TV channel and loom at the preachers who exploit your Jesus in their greedy grab for power, money and yes...s.e.x. As Ghandi said: I love your Jesus, but his followers terrify me. Why do you christians have so much belief in the existence of satan anyway? LOL!
@2hottie69 It was meant in humor, sort of like a moment of sympathy for Bush who is clearly mentally challenged and not responsible for his words or actions. "Bless him". You have a problem with that? Like he left out God(or rather YOUR god?) Try thinking about the fact that the English language and variations on phrases is not owned by US English speakers. Rastas in Jamaica often say "blessed" as a greeting or thanks. Is that such a crime that they omit the word God from it? LOL!
@ilikepieinmyshoe Do you wish videos like Farting Preacher were longer than 5 minutes? I think that there's a review board who views, then allows certain longer videos to be allowed on YouTube. Certainly Raj's lecture is worthy of 1 hour, whether people agree fully with him or not. After watching this video lecture, invest some time to reading the many insightful and challenging comments people have written below the video. This shows the video has stimulated dialog that we need.
I fully agree Raj. We should make trade illegal, and food should be issued by a central government rationing agency. Awesome can't wait. Do you think you would enjoy communism Raj? Is there a dollar value to freedom? Why do you see everyone becoming a regimented zombie as an ideal? Why do you see the USSR and its common farming as paradise, in spite of how people lived?
This speech is full of inaccuracys and bad assumptions (all the ifs). However he did get one thing right, the problem is government policys. Yes, the market does create the prices. No government can fight the market and win. USSR tried it and went bankrupt, after starving for decades. Government only knows mismanagement.
This year we had the 2nd highest crop output in the history of humanity. Food is cheap and we have lots of choices. As a percentage of population less people are starving.
@XCritonX The markets you identify with are responsible for a billion people a day going hungry. By any metric that's hardly ambitious propaganda for globalised markets. On the other the dynamics of local food markets were comprehensively explained in this lecture and subsequent Q&A.
Food is cheap for wealthy countries if amnesia takes care of the ecocide costs. Monoculture like the Soviet attempt at communism is never a good idea and free markets are for invariably neither free or markets.
@charlesfrith I find it interesting that it is in the poor countries with out functioning market economies that the market gets blamed for their poverty. Take a look at the economic freedom index. The greater the economic freedom, the more prosperous the country, the better the market functions.
Corrupt governments exercising their power against the market is the cause of 1 billion people going hungry. The "ecocide" exist principally in the minds of the new watermelons (communist greens).
@XCritonX That's a non sequitur. Your assertion that is food is cheap is illusory. There's no need to debate that point. We'll both be here in five years and we can see if you still adhere to ideology.
Furthermore the prices and freedom index are an unvirtuous circle whereby the richest countries plunder the poorest. I'd be inclined to support this one or two examples used in the video but either you ignored that reality or didn't watch it fully. It is an hour long!
Hey Raj, Do you think aspartame, hi-fructose corn syrup, and pesticides should be in foods? Do you use fluoride toothpaste and do you drink city water with fluoride in it? It is impossible to underestimate the intelligence of the American populace, especially when you read comments about "Maitreya" and "Lucifer". You stupid "christian" sheep, he's fighting for the poor and powerless.
@mike5840 Corporate oppression happens because of government-sponsored monopolies. Raj Patel's ideas require central planning and a lot more than we have now. He believes that his morals beat everybody else's so only people with his worldview should decide whats best for everyone else.
