How come there always has to be a religion war on every single Relient K related video? Theyre a rock band with Christian themes. That being said you can still enjoy their music without having to battle out which religion you believe to be true. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and choices in life.

If we're talking Chris Tomlin "Oh Lord praise you this is a worship song" Christian band...no. They aren't. Far from it. But when their songs are heavily laced with religious references, and have stated publicly more than once that they are believers of Christ, as well as participating in many Christian events...they are a 'Christian band' This goes for Skillet, P.O.D, Owl City...ect.
We all need to step back and take another look at the label 'Christian band' It's not a bad thing if you are into a 'Christian band' and you are not a believer of Christ. But please, do not put these bands down, or fall into a delusional state that they are religious, causing you to make nasty posts to everyone that they are wrong. It doesn't make them any less cool, or less hard-rock, and it certainly doesn't make you any less of these things.
It simply means they have a message, and they want people to know this message. In this case, Relient K wants people to know the love of Christ. Maybe through one of their songs. Or maybe people loving one song for the wrong reason, and later finding out about the bands faith, causing them to look into Jesus for the first time. There are many, many ways to spread the word of God - it's no longer limited to "Oh Lord, I walk by faith. This music puts most people but my grandma to sleep" :)

despite katy perry not being a christian anymore, she and matt thiessen still collaborate on writing songs - relient k (though ostensibly a christian band) doesn't limit themselves to associating with just christian artists. moving within secular circles yet still remaining strong christians is why heaps of people admire relient k, they're not scared to be friends with people who don't share their faith

We all need to step back and take another look at the label 'Christian band' It's not a bad thing if you are into a 'Christian band' and you are not a believer of Christ. But please, do not put these bands down, or fall into a delusional state that they are religious, causing you to make nasty posts to everyone that they are wrong. It doesn't make them any less cool, or less hard-rock, and it certainly doesn't make you any less of these things.

It simply means they have a message, and they want people to know this message. In this case, Relient K wants people to know the love of Christ. Maybe through one of their songs. Or maybe people loving one song for the wrong reason, and later finding out about the bands faith, causing them to look into Jesus for the first time. There are many, many ways to spread the word of God - it's no longer limited to "Oh Lord, I walk by faith. This music puts most people but my grandma to sleep" :)

No one knows the full story but Shannon and Matt and that's between them. And I've heard what Shannon's said about it on the air and she just kind of glances over the topic, no one goes into detail. He did something wrong, he knows that, and he knows he'll never get her back because of it. Heartbreaking, really

despite katy perry not being a christian anymore, she and matt thiessen still collaborate on writing songs - relient k (though ostensibly a christian band) doesn't limit themselves to associating with just christian artists. moving within secular circles yet still remaining strong christians is why heaps of people admire relient k, they're not scared to be friends with people who don't share their faith

Living with the philosophy of " I prayed the prayer now I will go to heaven no matter what" is dangerous to say the least.

This is basically saying if you know God, study the word, continue in the faith, but then choose to deliberately reject Christ, knowing what you know, then you become an apostate, yes. If you are a willful sinner, this means you have no desire to give up this sin. But if you believe, and have sin in your life (like all humans) That doesn't mean you're not going to heaven. That's called temptation, and you're still forgiven.

Just because Relient K has never said "We are a Christian band." does not mean that they are not a Christian Band. They were signed to a Christian label for several years, associating themselves strongly with other Christian groups. They have broken into the mainstream scene and done quite well (Five Score was No. 6 on the Billboard top 200 upon release). They are still a Christian band. Five Iron Frenzy is undoubtedly a Christian band, but highly regarded in the Ska scene...

I never claimed Eminem was ever a christian. I just used him as an example in the way that his first album had a ton of positive messages and then when he got no response from it he decided to go with the rap horror stuff. If he was serious about half the crap he used to rap about he'd be a sociopath and a monster. As for Katy Perry Christianity isn't something that just goes away. I don't mean insult her, but I wonder when they were co-writing this if he didn't really take into consideration that he probably has more vocal range than she does. It has a pretty good hook, and I do like the emotion she sings with but it's very obviously not written for an alto
