I have the same laptop, only with 1 tb hdd (2x500gb), you are running applications wrong, I would suggest you not to use anti-aliasing especially if you are running game with native resolution, This screen supports quite well look of lower resolution - 1280x720. Checked this video because I was interested how my laptop would handle this game, atm all games are running quite well, to people who are looking up for this laptop I definitely suggest taking this, it's 100% worth the price.
