nuclear bomb = any weapon that uses nuclear reactions to explode, so both hydrogen bombs and atomic bombs are nuclear weapons.

atomic bombs use fission to explode (splitting atoms), hydrogen bombs use fusion to explode (where atoms are smashed into each other to make new ones). Hydrogen bombs are significantly more powerful than atomic bombs.

neutron bombs use radiation to kill, rather than a huge concussive shock wave. They still explode, but the shock wave created by it is much smaller.

These are pipelines drilled throught the rock prior to a detonation to control the explosion and for other reasons. The lines toy see are where the shockwave/pressure forces debris upward through the drilled sections.

In that case, wouldn't it be true that the smoke lines off to the side of the explosion reflect the same testing mechanism? We must presume that they had already assured their accuracy with the artillary piece at that point, since it was not a planted charge in that instance.
