I wouldn't call Cutey Honey "hentai." It's actually rather mainstream. As an anime it was a television program dating back to the early 70's, so that's evidence enough that it was approved for public viewing. It's always had certain "etchi" elements in it, but apart from an occasional bared breast and bottom, that is the extent of it. There is no explicit sexual content in Cutey Honey.
It's called " Fan Service " usually in the form of exposed cleavage, brief glimpses of bare breasts, teasers, etc. I'm not a real BIG fan of anime', but I know that much. It's teasing the audience.
Kill Jill - Quentin Tarantino would approve, probably.
@knoxvilleguy2 Well, seeing as how this was actually based upon a comic (manga) by Go Nagai (who is notorious for portraying female body parts), it doesn't really have much to do with what anime producers do for the fans. It has a whole lot more to do with the creator of the character of this title, and how it was portrayed by him.
Some parts of this anime series are semi - ridiculous, like the long - winded speeches before an attack, & the cliche Batman - esque scenes of villains charging Honey. But I guess fan service trumps that.
What's the deal with her going from an android to a " magical girl " ( like Sailor Moon" ) ?
