  • Sam Elliot was so cool in this movie. He's one of those actors where women want to be w/ him, and men want to be him. Did he ever do the 'beef,it's what's for dinner' ads? Sounds like the same voice.

  • say when!

  • Don't mind him he's just drunk that's all

  • "Huckleberry" can be a noun or an adjective. As a noun, it typical means "the right person for the job" or "a person in the right place at the right time." As an adjective, it has a somewhat similar meaning. For example, the expression "huckleberry friend." I don't understand how anyone could think he's saying "hucklerbearer."

  • Val Kilmers best role by far.

  • lol......ITS.. HUCKLEBERRY..... AND DOWN here in the south... when we were little..there is a bush that grows these little, purple berries... poisonous to eat...but a great tool. .... as a blood stain.....when you are playing army .....

  • why do people say hucklebearer? for once and for all holiday says "I'm your huckleberry" the ones who misunderstand must be partially deaf or just inattentive.

  • bobbah.....proceed suh

  • LMAO.....

  • Fuck you all he says "I'm got a Huckleboner" :P And thats that :P Stop arguing you noobs.

Kilmer was God in this show he was so fucking good.

  • Read the screenplay -- it's huckleberry. End of discussion.

  • @ZenCatcher Don't bring facts into discussion

  • @ukwazoo

Yeah 'cause that's how the church does it and they've never been wrong, ever. Seriously, what the hell are you talking about?

  • HUCKLEBEARER not huckleBERRY

  • HUCKLEBEARER

  • tombstone is amazing! :D I looove it, I stayed at this house llike we rented it for a day. And like in the middle of the night like the screen door opened and like slamed weird, and my mom said she saw a girl or boy peak in her room.I looooove the big nose kate bar thing! their french frys at the shit. :)

  • tombstone is amazing! :D I looove it, I stayed at this house llike we rented it for a day. And like in the middle of the night like the screen door opened and like slamed weird, and my mom said she saw a girl or boy peak in her room.

  • when you know you're a dead man walking you have no fear...that's what makes Doc so calm and cool.

  • part of superb acting is making you feel like the character (Val Kilmer does a flawless job at that.) But Michael Biehn reciprocates that feeling with superb acting of his own, let's not forget him too. Both of these actors give the feeling of great tension in that scene. One of my favorite movies of all time.

  • You have to admit those that really did this during the 1860's and 70's had tremendous courage. That is, those who engaged in gun fights. Amazing.

  • @0ucantstopme0

Not really, hollywood would have you believe there were a lot of showdowns like this. Truth is, most were murdered. Shot in the back and such.

  • Doc is the man! Exactly how you deal with a bully ; take the fight to him and watch him!

  • Great movie and superb acting by Kilmer and Russell.

  • I get goosebumps every time I watch this scene. To me great acting is when the actor makes you want to be that character... well Val Kilmer made me want to be Doc Holliday... His BEst perfrormance

  • The guy in the blue shirt on the far right, from about 2:07 to 2:15 is John Corbett, who was at this time also in the TV show Northern Exposure. I performed with my reggae band at a Seattle night club Corbett owned in those days. I remember John telling me he was thrilled to be working on this movie!

  • Doc is the biggest pimp and badass of all time. He would have wasted Ringo right here. Makes me proud to have been born and raised in Georgia just like Doc

  • i love doc holiday!!! "im your huckleberry." i love this movie too.

  • @damtigerish Its actually Huckel Bearer, as in a Pall Bearer. See the handles on casket are called a Huckle. So the person who carries them use to be called a Huckel Bearer. Heres a little extra info i found

“Hucklebearer” was a term commonly used in the 19th century in the southeast U.S. (where Doc Holliday was born and raised) as we now use the term “pallbearer.”

Just a little tidbit of info!

  • @stitely

Actually, "I'm your huckleberry" was a common idiom for "I'm the man for the job." Google.

  • I found my new catch phrase! =D and "You're a daisy if you do." hahaha Oh man Doc is the man!!

  • nonsense, i have not yet begun to defile myself

  • Actually Val Kilmer mis-said his line, but they liked it and kept it

  • Bullsh_t!

  • Sorry, but it is huckleberry. it was a popular saying during that time, it meant to be just the right person for a given job.

  • no it meant "i'm the man your looking for" it had a few meanings but this i'm sure is was what doc meant.

  • @MadLip78 Look up Doc Holiday on wiki and it says that " I'm your Huckleberry " was one of his favorite lines to say

  • You are a moron.

  • and so you shall if your lucky poor soul he was just to high strung

  • my hypocrisy knows no bounds :)

  • "That's just my game"..... Man I love this movie!

  • doc had the best lines in the movie. i'm you're huckleberry.you're a daisy if you do.classic!

  • Say when!

  • I'm your frickin Huckleberry!!! How cool is that?

  • No one will ever play Doc again! You cant follow that performance.

  • 1:24

  • " im your huckleberry," omg... sexiest thing ive ever heard ever.

  • You are so right... OMG, I love it when he says this!

  • I want your blood. And I want your soul. And I want 'em now... *awesome*

  • Jason Priestley is such a pussy...

  • this is my favorite scene in the movie... "i'm your huckleberry, thats just my game"... woohoo Doc!

  • I love these Doc & Johnny scenes, they were both my favourite actors in this film. But I love Doc the most. ''I'm your huckleberry'' ;)

  • Thats jus my game (CLASSIC)

  • Doc and Ringo where the best in this movie. Alright lunger

  • Actually it was a deputy who came out and disarmed Doc, Wyatt and Ringo, and no one even knows his name!

  • When Kilmer steps forth and says, "I'm your huckleberry"... It just sends CHILLS down my spine!

  • 4real

  • I agree. ;)

  • Awesome flick, the one time paring of two of my favorite actors KURT RUSSELL & VAL KILMER.

  • This is one of my favorite movies. Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday, Superb! Another of my favorite lines from this movie is when Turkey Creek Jack Johnson asks Doc why he is even out helping Wyatt Earp whe he is so sick and should be in bed. Doc replies,"Wyatt Earp is my friend". Jack says,"Hell, I got lots a friends". Doc says,"I don't".

  • yeah. where the hell is that clip?

  • jonnhy all the way? haha the guy had a little rep because he killed one man. on the other hand holiday was more dangerous and a quicker draw. and had nothing to lose he was dying any way.

  • He stole this scene every time!!!

  • A great scene from my favorite movie of all time!

  • 2:18- 2:23...i found it!!! 1 of my favorite scenes....god have mercy!!!! cracks me up every time

  • i bet doc was about to kick ass... cause I'm your huckleberry

  • im your huckleberry

  • Another interpretation: It is said during the Medivel times, during contest jousts, winning knights were awarded wreaths of huckleberries. Doc Holliday is in essence saying "I'm your reward. You deserve what I have for you."

Also, that he is the Earps' champion.

  • thoughe it was cuz they made coffins out of somethin called huckle berrin or somethin

  • Could be, as I said, it is one interpretation. I've read scads of meanings behind "I'm your/here huckleberry".

But everyone here can agaree on one thing: Kilmer rocked the frickin' line like a God-Actor.

  • barber,proceed.

  • " Im your huckleberry " meaning 'I'm your man' I'm the man for the job.

  • Would it have been considered a fair gunfight since Doc had his second pistol behind his back?

  • even if that gun wasnt behind his back , doc would have kicked his ass

  • Doc Holliday was a serious badass motherfucker was a dentist, broke as hell, picked up a pistol and became a legend now thats some real shit

  • It wouldn't have flopped. It wouldn't have been as great, but Wyatt Earp was this films competition at the time and it is utter shit in comparison.

  • Without Kilmer in this flick, it would have flopped.

  • can anyone else see that ringos head is on fire at 2:01 min

  • oh ,sorry it's it's just the wind blowing his hair like that.Anyway great movie

  • "say when"

  • Kilmer's Doc Holiday has got to be one of the coolest characters in movie history!

  • this is the best western of all time

  • You're an idiot.

  • no its not, watch the remake of 3:10 to Yuma, that was an absolute worst western movie made that i've seen

  • It takes a good actor to make "wretched slugs" sound like a real insult.

  • I don't usually post comments on here but please, for god sakes, STOP saying its "I'm here huckleberry"...you're all over this damn site with that crap. Everyone else is right, it's I'm YOUR..., if it's not, then why can you buy official Tombstone the movie t-shirts that say "I'm your huckleberry" That's a fact, look it up before you keep posting these idiotic comments on here and misquoting a classic line, or maybe you know what he is saying better than the producers of the movie.

  • @ezemwc lol. I used to think he said I'm here Huckleberry too. That was a slight overreaction though.

  • @ezemwc I have a copy of the movie script and you are correct .... "I'M YOUR HUCKLEBERRY!"

  • @ezemwc damn is it that serious?

  • basically it is "I'm your Huckleberry" This was used back then as meaning "I'm the right person for the job" it has nothing to do with a hucklebearer or cereal or anything like that.

this is what the old cartoon Huckleberry hound was about...him going around and trying to get different jobs...that is why he was named HUCKLEBERRY hound!!!

  • It's "I'm your huckleberry", look something up before you make a stupid comment, means Im the man for the job! has nothing to do with cereal!!!LOL

  • that is correct! lol

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME

you'd have to be an idiot to disagree

  • No MORON it's "I'm YOUR Huckleberry." As in, Im your paul bearer.

  • no it pretty much means like "im the man for the job"

  • i really hate how MORONS attribute the origin of the line "say when" to this movie. jesus christ...might as well attribute the phrase "jesus christ!" to them as well.

  • i'm Doc Hollyday, I can send people whatever they want hell or heaven, need no gun !

  • The best character in the film is Ike - that boy reminds me of half my family and most the rednecks around here. They need to give Ike that Academy Award!

  • now now.. be fair, uncle. holiday's an edcuated rogue! a noble scoundrel!

  • I want somebody making my day here in Tombstone ! c'mon bunch of coward! make my fu'ck'n day!

  • this is one of the best movies ever made!

  • Did Val Kilmer get an oscar for this film? If not he should of, some of the best acting ever!!

  • he was not even nominated

  • o god...this is like my boyfriend's favorite line...he says, "I'm your huckleberry" when ever it's appropriate...and "say when" all in the same accent, doc holiday is like his hero...

he also likes to dress a little like him sometimes...w/ his little hat and what not...it's .... cute?...

    either way, this is a good movie...sorry for the story...i know...nobody cares....lol

  • Without Kilmer in this flick, it would have flopped.

  • Best Western ever made. And Val Kilmer - he stole the show. "I'm your huckleberry" is one of my favorite lines in the film. Proceed, sir.

  • I would love to go back to the day where if somone pissed you off....u could fucken shoot them. I live 2 hours from Tombstone, and there is a grave there that say lester more four shots from 44...bla bla u know the rest, but i did u know that guy was shot to death for given a busted up package to a customer? that poor fck worked for the postal service.

  • "Alright lunger, you go to hell"

  • I've said "I'm your huckleberry" in school and got laughed at...I laughed too, it was pretty funny.

  • "say when"

  • no you

  • no you

  • "say when"

  • no you

  • Awesome scene - VAL KILMER is awesome as Doc Holiday - my fav. character

"Im Your Hickelberry...Thats just my game"

    and Curley Bell...

"I tell you boys even im worried once Ringo runs this outfit...GOD HAVE MERCY"

    AWESOME

TOMBSTONE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME

  • Well if he was looking for a some one to shoot and he was yelling arnt any of you idiots man enough it would sort of make sense for doc to say I'm your idiot and then kill him

  • WRONG, you are dead fucking wrong. If you were a real Tombstone fan like the rest of us you would have looked these thinks up. It's "I'm YOUR", as in I'm you paul bearer.(As gearhead said a month ago).

  • Then we agree to disagree. Besides, Im an unreal Tombstone Fan.

  • no it means he is down for a fight, he knows he can beat him thats why he calls him out.

  • no,it means he thought he was a cartoon character, beagle hound.

  • even tho doc kills him in the end i like ringo better

  • Excellent acting by Biehn. Everybody claims Val Kilmer/Doc Holliday is underrated, but Biehn/Ringo is far more underrated IMO.

  • "Dont mind him, he's just drunk that's all....hehehehe!!!"

    Powers Boothe steals this scene.

  • steals the scene? are you nuts. kilmer does.

  • Ya he says "Huckleberry", its from the story of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Fin. Huck was Tom's best friend always down to do whatever Tom wanted. So he says "Im your Huckleberry" meaning he is game for the fight.

  • it means i'll beat you.

  • Nice job! That is one of my many favorite parts.. I love the whole film. You can not beat the dialog of this movie. There are so many great lines! They just keep comin at ya! "Say when."... LOL.

  • I love this movie - I love Doc Holiday!

  • That's just my game!! Val Kilmer is so cool in this movie.

  • It's "huckleberry". The script and subtitles for the movie both say so and the huckle bearer thing is myth.

  • Johnny was about to get it. I think Doc was about to finish his ass right then and there.

  • "Johnny was about to get it. I think Doc was about to finish his ass right then and there. "

You're right. He has his pistol tucked behind his back! "Say when" indeed. Didn't he tell him to "rest in peace" earlier in the film, though in Latin? Great movie.

  • it really is huckle bearer.. i finally got it now, its shame my entire life i say "huckleberry" but..its wrong.

  • i still like saying huckleberry better, but that's a nice fact

  • It's actually "I'm your huckle bearer" as I learned when visiting Tombstone. A huckle is the handle on the casket and the one that holds it during a funeral procession is the bearer...

  • It's not "huckle bearer". That's just shit people make up when they don't know the answer to something. The saying "I'm your huckleberry" meaning "I'm the man for the job" has been around for over a hundred years.

  • "I tell ya, boys, even I'm wary of what's gonna happen once Ringo runs this outfit. God have mercy!" My fav line by Curly Bill

  • I love it when Ringo says 'You wretched slugs!' I say that all the time irl since I first saw this movie XD Good stuff, awesome movie. Doc Holiday, even if he was a lunger, owns!

  • Kedvencem.

  • this is the only western that ive thoroughly enjoyed!

  • What about "Unforgiven"?

  • Facts - fiction who cares? This is a fantastic movie & some hot man eye-candy going on here!

  • his freaking wife, josephine wrote the book they based this version on...so there... they had to add a little hollywood....not everybody can make a 6 hr movie like kevin costner and dennis quaid suck ass version of the man, doc holiday!!

  • actually no it hasnt been reported that he missed more often than not.if u read the facts on the shootout at the ok coral he was the 1 who did most of the shooting, caused the horses 2 jump.basically hes the only one that had 2 guns

  • wotever the facts be still a damn good movie

  • 'bad boys' deserve to be killed

  • wrong tool. many times they wouldnt report deaths and would lie about killing people when they actually did kill. get an education befor eyou spout off here moron

  • You're my huckleberry baby...xxx

  • what a great cast the best movie about the o k corral shootout period

  • BAHBAH, PROCEED SUHH!!

  • Great clip from an awesome movie! Thanks for sharing!

  • DAMN THAT HITS THE SPOT.

  • One of the top 10 westerns of the 20th century - no doubt. Val Kilmer stole the show as Doctor John Henry "Doc" Holliday ... perhaps his best role ever. Kurt Russell turned in a great performance as Wyatt Earp, as well.

  • YOU GO DOC!!!!!!!!!!!

    YP.

  • Classic, one of the best movies of all time!!

  • I'm your fucken huckleberry!

  • "I want your blood. And I want your souls and I want em both right now"

  • omggggggg i love this movie i lovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it i love

  • Movie would have been over early with 3 dead Earps...good thing Holiday was in the scene. My favorite movie of all time. Ya gotta love Ringo though! It was a full cast of great actors.

  • i agree Val Kilmer made that movie, others were good 2 plus Kurt

  • Best movie ever!!!!

  • As soon as I saw this movie on DVD at Wal-Mart(Da Devil! lol) I bought it quicker than a duck on a June bug. It is THE BEST Western movie I have ever seen in my life.

Val Kilmer did such a good job as Doc Holliday. I am so glad the people who made this movie picked an excellent person! "Barber...proceed sir."

  • I found the directors cut version on sale used at FYE *choke* (a store in the mall that sells video)*cough* good movie... had some- hold on *coughing fit* sorry about that... it had some special features & a computer game you can play cards & answer triva questions erm... kinda ironic that I had to choke watching clips of Doc Holiday -_-;; (got a piece of malted-milk ball stuck in my throat) *hack*cough* ...that's better... Doc's my fav character by the way...

  • thanks for reenacting your choking fit

  • Haha, seriously bphutchins.

  • Anyone who hasn't seen this movie should do so immediately, and watch often!!:)

  • "I'm your huckleberry"

  • OH MY GOD ,i have watched this movie about 2000 times drove the misses crazy only to see val kilmer as doc holiday..I fuckin love this movie ,h
