So the moment oil extraction starts to hit rock bottom, maybe "viola, we have water erg0 engines!". So don,t despair folks, perhaps the next century will be full blown Aquarius Age. Individuals maintain the value of oil through spending a finite resource. If you hate what a war over oil means use an alternative. Increase the value of a renewable resource and the value of oil won't change but you will.
