  • Nicely detailed explanation of the term and I just wanna testify that this is a great Sam Dees tune! ; )

Seriously, I've loved the many genres of soul all my life and am grateful to the people who have championed the sounds that didn't exactly receive the best of breaks the first go round. So many great tunes that I may never have known ~ in the end labels do exist, like it or not, but this should be referred to clear up any unnecessary rows between the heavy handed and misinformed. Cheers!

  • Greetings from the heart of what started the Northern Soul phenom. I'm sure fans have seen "Standing in the Shadows of Motown". If not please get the DVD. It's an invaluable history lesson of what made the music so great.

  • Nice! I liked some of these songs when they came out [though it wasn't quite so big in Australia] but always thought they were American artists!

  • Remember dancing to this at Morecambe in 85 in the Starlight room at 3am - Just fantastic - thanks for posting it!!

  • You are very lucky to have met the great Sam Dees. He is one of my soul heroes. I just thought I would cmment on this particular track, no offence meant. What do you mean "we no doubt all agree that it is you" ?

  • Is it me? or is this Sam Dess track his poorest recording, so many great songs and it's this one that gets the attention, I even fell over trying to dance to it!
