The amazing thing about this song is its sheer simplicity. I think most people's comments about how this is so much better that what's out now is because of that; it's simple and honest and real; not glossed over with autotuning and brickwall compression in a lame attempt to hype up a product that inherently sucks.

Im 43 now, and I remember growing up on this music. This sound is what brings back memories of FOS, Duran Duran, Billy Idol, Animotion, The Go Gos and Men Without Hats. Going to those concerts, where you actually felt safe at the show, and didnt have to duck from gun fire. RAP and this garbage thats out there today should go the way of the dinosaur. We need to pressure Viacom to either pull MTV off the air, or rename it.
The music today is rap. Rap sucks. i wish people used real instruments and i wish people still wrote and played music like this. Bring back the good music, bring back music like this.

Yesterday I watched Back to School and today I heard this song that I love in Kick Old Skool !!! @AORCrazy I lived in the 80's as a teenager as well. A lot of the '80s videos are pretty crap. (Videos, not music.) Looking back at the 80s and picking out 50, 100, 150 great songs/bands is cherry picking. There was a lot of bad bands then too. I like a lot of 80s songs & bands. I like a lot of 90s & later songs and bands too. Personally I hate rap & R&B, so I'm not fond of most top 40 pop songs & MTV fodder now. But I still find numerous current bands to be quite good.
The 80s music is something most of us will remember as great times, danceable beats, teenage crushes, and just fond memories that we can only go back to in our minds. Long live this decade of truly good music.

I remember seeing them in concert in 1982, they opened up for The Go Go's and blew them away! No offense to The Go Go's, i love them dearly but at that time they literally had to be dragged to do a tour. It was September 1982 at the Timberwolf Amphitheater @ Kings Island. Thanks for the memory.

Who says his hair is bad? I think it served as a very original trend for the wave age of the 80's, besides which is weirder, his hair style or those today who have so much metal sticking out of them they look like a horrible science experiment involving a koosh ball. Awesome time...Awesome music.

Hey, JC, we had to worry about nuclear war with the Soviet Union, Aids, and if Red Dawn the movie was really going to happen. But, it was a great time. The music was just awesome. Great movies and bad hair. But, there were so many awesome bands that still stand the test of time.
I love this song because I thought of this song every time I liked a girl.

I really wish I would have eben in my 20;s during the 80's. I was born in '84. Life was great, people were happy, movies were incredible. All people did was party and have a good time. Today. its all about how bad the economy is, unemployment through the roof, futures uncertain, a 10 year war that shows no signs of stopping for many years to come etc etc. 2011 is a pretty depressing time isn't it?

HOLY CRAP , I work at a grocery store, they play this song alot, I like the fantastic hook in it, didn't know song or artist, I remember I Ran by Flock of Seagulls they used a sinthesizer maybe it's the same band that did this song, so I check out their best of songs list, i'll play them on YouTube one by one to maybe find the song, I already heard I Ran, second song is this one, Space Age Love Song , BINGO, FOUND IT, FANTASTIC!

I saw this group in 1983 when I was 'just' 17 years old. I stood about 2 feet from the stage and was half deaf when it was over with. Well worth it!! God, I miss these 80's bands . . .
