do you think the small one will make me draw worse then me using the bamboo pen, please help? does size matter or does it adjust to the screen like the bamboo
I decided to wait too buy it until I go to holiday in the usa, becouse its cheaper there. Cirka how much did you pay for it? do you know how much it cost nowdays?
@dablet00 you pronounced Wacom wrong lol. It annoys the heck out of me when people do that no offense lol. Go to Wacom's YouTube account and click on one of there videos to find out how to say it. That's what i did.
@THEjkllkkljkljkl gaming with the mouse is great!!! all the buttons are fully programmable. gaming with the pen in FPS is impossible. the control with the pen for FPS doesnt work that great as with the mouse
yes, until the felt material under the mouse get up a lot of sweat and humidity and begin to adhere to the tablet surface. the resolution of the mouse is way worse than a middle budget gaming mouse. i don't know why, but thats the case. and the lift off distance is heheee approximately 1 cm !!!!!
@washingtonclaypictur You draw on the active area of the tablet and anything you draw will appear on your screen. Its just like a mouse, but with a pen instead :)
I don't know, but the guy who invented glossy plastic is an asshole. Its totally pointless. Makes a product look good for a couple of seconds until you touch it.
Let me tell you all right now, if you buy this product you will throw a lot more money down the toilet than its retail price. The pen tips (otherwise known as nibs) WEAR DOWN AT LEAST 50x FASTER THAN INTUOS 3!!
I repeat, at LEAST 50x faster, this is not exaggerated. You'll replace your nibs for 20 dollars every couple weeks. Product is worthless in this regard. Not worth it. Get an intuos 3.
But, let me ask you one thing: the nibs suffer some kind of mechanical wear?. I've seen that I could buy some kind of refills or something like that.
The custimazble buttons are buttons or sensors? I prefer sensors in order to eliminate some probability to entry in out of order...The less mechanical parts, the better.
With the medium size tablet it could be enough or do you thing that the bigger the better?. The medium size has a painting are of about A5 size, hasn't it?
soo i wonna buy a tablet and i do not know which one..any recommadations ??? plsplspls....i think this one is the best..but again i would lovee to hear your opinion :/
@dance4ever956 i think size depends on your desktop space. on my desk, there's nothing much except a keyboard. check out the dimensions and see which ones will fit nicely on your desk. its not easy to have one on the lap like some people are doing.
@dance4ever956 the nibs (pen tips) grind down super fast in the model 4, intuos 3 nibs last like 3 years, intuos 4 nibs last a few days. If you don't mind buying a new set of nibs every month, definitely get the intuos 4, its a better piece of equipment, but I don't think it is worth the nib replacements constantly, it is up to you of course.
@dance4ever956 Okay, well, of course it is your choice, I just feel obligated to let people know what they are getting themselves into since wacom doesnt advertise the down sides haha. I hope you really enjoy your tablet friend!
@dance4ever956 Wacom is the only and original tablet, others are shit ;0) If you have lot of money, buy a Wacom Cintiq, or if you have less money, buy a Intuos & if you have no money, buy a Bamboo ;0)
it's an announcement, announcement, announcement... i just recieved my
intuos4 Large size few minutes back and now im at my work i couldn't even open it and i'm saving it till i get home, MAAAAAN i'm SOOOO EXCITED. it's been a REAL 5 years long postpond purchasing it, but now it's MINE. WOOOOHOOOO.
sorry guys but it's so exciting, it's a lifetime currior change. thank u all for your intuos4 videos, it helps much.
The only problem folks find with these things is the nibs wear out really really quickly and they're £13 for five spares :o. The wacom forums (europe) are up to page 37 with complaints on this and there is even an e'petition under some users names which I have gladly signed due to this bad design & rip off issue.
OH MAN.. i just read few reviews on amazon and i am trying to neglect it and believe that it's not a problem. and now i just saw your comment here. i am thinking of buying it tomorrow and it will be the first step to trasfere my drawings to the PC. but now i am anxious and thinking hardly bout it. is it a REAL BIG problem? i mean is there anything as an alternative to this brand? should i buy it or not??
it feels like really smooth plastic with your fingers. the surface feels extremely different once you put on the nibs. one of them feels like u are painting with a brush . another feels like pencil on paper. very nice!
@Triconium Go with Large, it's a perfect size. XL is too large unless you like making huge arm movements and big strokes. Medium is too small for my liking. I prefer a size that is just a little larger than a regular sheet of paper. And so the Large is absolutely perfect.
I am too, not too much info on it like the intuos3. When they released that version Wacom actually had a configurator based on screen size to select the right tablet. Since the Medium's usable space is 8.8" x 5.5" and my old intuos3 tablet was 8.5" x 6.5" I got a Medium, also because of the price jump. I would NOT get a small, one of the biggest things is the LED labels I am sooo looking forward to! I only use a small portion of the tablet on any size screen anyhow, hope that helps.
I was thinkin a lot about that. Large is too big. I made a rectangle in a paper with al the sizes (except XL) and medium fits perfectly with my hand movements. mine will arrive on oct 21th, I cant wait!
hahaha yes I did, I wanted to know the real size of the active area. even, I draw some stuff and realized that medium is the best. if you post some videos or reviews it would be cool. ;)
let's buy a wacom intuos 4 tablet for playing music in winamp, good idea dablet00. really great idea. then let's buy the second largest size because, well, it doesn't have to make sense, does it?
I recommend buying a Canon EOS for use as a webcam, and when you're at it, also buy some expensice genelec studio speakers for listening to your IPOD...
Hi. Could you watch my video 5C_0UVrjG_A about my Intuos4 tablet and tell me if the tip of your Intuos4 Grip Pen is as loose as mine, as showed in the video? Wacom seems to be a bit evasive about this problem, which seems to be more common than people may think (also those who have never owned other Wacom tablets before may have this issue but be unaware of it).
I wantz the small...Since im looking for something affordable, yet good and portable. Since it MUST go with my laptop on my vacations :D I couldnt fit a large one on my backpack could I? :P but still, I'd want the medium because its an OK size, and im mostly on my desktop....But since it isnt as cheap as the small...O well...
I guess the smaller ones are easier to carry around, but the large sized is just amazing because you can sit cross-legged and put it on your lap which works nearly as good as a desk.
It kind of does look like an extra large, considering the large is only a little bit longer than a regular piece of A4 paper, and that thing looks a lot bigger.
Need help, i recentely got mi intuos 4 L but i dont know how to program it, i want to switch my brush size in photoshop and it doesnt work. and i want to rotate my drawings and neighter worked. Can anyone help me?
im thinking of buying something like this but i want it for photoedditing. i want something thats closest to writting with a pen. i want to spend $300 AUST. none of the videos really show how sensitive each brand is. can anyone help me?
If your question was how sensitive the pen is then these intous4 series are like The Top. The pen is probably the most sensitive one you can buy and it also now draws without applying any pressure on it -that is how sensitive it is. Forget about the old 10g of pressure rule ;)
If you are able to get one of these babes, do it! i myself am considering to do the same. GL and have fun!
Yep! Wacom is the BEST, no question about it! The Intuos is meant for those more "into" their field, while the Bamboo is for beginners who just want a taste of using a tablet.
Ok this video kinda left me feeling cheated by life. Please tell me you use this for more than playing around in winamp. I know some amazing artists that can't even afford a crappy tablet and paint with a mouse. Please tell me you actually have a reason for owning a professional piece of hardware like this.
if those artists u know are so amazing, obviously they're not amazing enough to know how to make a few extra bucks towards tools for their profession. the small version is only $300US, a small investment for such a rich piece of hardware
anyways nice vid. im sellin my intuos 3 a4 for a smaller version of the intuos4,, i rarely use the entire area
...so minus the protective sheet, overall, would you say you were happy with it? do the scratches affect the pen performance? i just ordered one so a bit curious is all? thanks!
if u are a Proffessional like the people who works in top cow or marvel comics, you need a large, but, if u don`t have money enough, the medium or even the small works fine. The important here, and always, is your skill.
the large is good. i dont recommend getting the XL. i wouldnt like something bigger than my current size because of the travel distance of the hand from one corner to the other. and also, typing on the kb would be challenging cause it would be too far.
thanks for replying back. Well im thinking of ordering one too. Perhaps medium version. Im just worried about the corel painter 11 brush stroke lag issue. Im using winxp 2.33 dual core 2 with 4gb ram.
Btw have you used any other tablets before and how are you finding intuos 4?
I had an intuos 3 with a protective sheet too. But im really surprised that your intuos 4 has no protective sheet and already scratched. I guess pressing hard to get 2k pressure sensitivity has its draw backs. Nevertheless im glad that your pleased with it. So what kind of work do you do?
the sensor is actually in the pen. when you press, the pen relays all the infos back to the tablet. this is why you can put a magazine on the tablet and still be able to draw as normal. i have no idea why Wacom didnt include the protective sheet.
i design websites and design stuffs :) tablet definitely gives me an edge in games too! hehe
I wonder if you use corel painter 11? if so does the intuos 4 still have a brush stroke lag (a second pause) or does it miss strokes like with intuos 3? and any further bugs?
i dont have corel painter 11. i did download the free Corel Sketchpad for Wacom. no noticeable lag were experienced in Vista with 4gb ram and 2ghz dual core processor
what it's cost please?

the large is good. i dont recommend getting the XL. i wouldnt like something bigger than my current size because of the travel distance of the hand from one corner to the other. and also, typing on the kb would be challenging cause it would be too far.

thanks for replying back. Well im thinking of ordering one too. Perhaps medium version. Im just worried about the corel painter 11 brush stroke lag issue. Im using winxp 2.33 dual core 2 with 4gb ram.
Btw have you used any other tablets before and how are you finding intuos 4?

i had the intuos 1 so the uprade to 4 is amazing!! my board is already so scratched up. the intuos 4 doesnt have the protective sheet that 1 had. :(
by the way, i noticed lag only whenever i increased the brush size to a certain point. that also happens in photoshop. guess my computer cant keep up.

I had an intuos 3 with a protective sheet too. But im really surprised that your intuos 4 has no protective sheet and already scratched. I guess pressing hard to get 2k pressure sensitivity has its draw backs. Nevertheless im glad that your pleased with it. So what kind of work do you do?

the sensor is actually in the pen. when you press, the pen relays all the infos back to the tablet. this is why you can put a magazine on the tablet and still be able to draw as normal. i have no idea why Wacom didnt include the protective sheet.
i design websites and design stuffs :) tablet definitely gives me an edge in games too! hehe

hi dablet00.
Thanks for the review.
I wonder if you use corel painter 11? if so does the intuos 4 still have a brush stroke lag (a second pause) or does it miss strokes like with intuos 3? and any further bugs?
thanks

i dont have corel painter 11. i did download the free Corel Sketchpad for Wacom. no noticeable lag were experienced in Vista with 4gb ram and 2ghz dual core processor
