  • I'll agree with you on that. Every inch a presence.....

  • Dear, that was great! I've not seen Buddy Boy yet, been umming and ahhring about buying a whole box set just for one episode. lol

  • @SongSeeker45 I liked it, the first time I saw it, as it was almost like a theatre production, how I would imagined MS on stage back then. He has a very powerful physical presence and it comes across in this one.

  • @SongSeeker45 buy it its ten quid on amazon i bought it cos my missis could remember the episode "baby" cant wait for it to arrive!!!

  • I remember this because it was the first time i saw two people "At it." I was 12!

  • @esqueritas *giggling*. I only saw it recently for the first time, and I'm very glad I've seen MS do much more sensitive "at it" scenes since.

  • "Buddy Boy" is one of the oddest bits of television I've ever seen and that is saying a lot. A vengeful ghost of a dolphin haunting the aquarium about to be taken over by some porn racketeers... Martin Shaw speaking like a professional northerner. ;)

  • @MysteryOfTheFence You can say that again, but MS did do a lot of odd things career wise and this probably isn't the oddest thing he did believe it or not. He seemed to like extending his range and trying roles that obviously meant something to him, if not the rest of us. Fortunately he's always good to look at no matter how bizarre the role.

  • You're right, he does a bloody good job as a baddie. Great song choice, captivating vid! Thanks!

  • @greenheartVids thank you mate. It wasn't easy doing a vid to this show as there was very little scene changing, so to produce something varied was quite a challenge.

  • The songtitle is the programme: Here's someone really special!! Thanks loads and loads, Jaicen, and *****

  • @turmlicht Thanks T. He is very special isn't he? for us to get so much enjoyment out of work he did so long ago.

  • Oh I do love Buddy Boy!! Amazing version of the song, I only know it by The Kinks. And your timing is spot on as always. Would you do something for me? It's just me being superstitious, but just for me would you change your description from past tense to present? *sends golden syrup as bribe*

  • @inlovewithboth anything for you mate. How's that? I like this version of this song too, but then it's the first one I ever heard of it. Thanks for having a look.

  • Ah.Yeah. ALWAYS likeable *g*. Cheers Mate.

  • Hey Jaicen. Thanks for the great vid. Wow this is a different side to MS altogether isnt it. He comes across as being 'not a very nice guy' which is in total contrast to the other incredibly gentle and caring side we have seen in other stuff he has done. Which really shows what an incredible and versatile actor he is. Great tribute to him mate and thanks for sharing. Great stuff - as always.

  • @CazVictoria You are welcome. I agree this is quite unlike anything he's ever done but I liked it mainly because it was acted in a way that I'd imagine he would have done had it been on stage. I've since seen him on stage and i do think that he had come straight from stage work to this role. He plays a sleeze. But even playing a sleeze, he's likeable. *g*

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR SHAW! :-)

Definitely a sleazy song, ohh I don't know if I ever even dare to watch Buddyboy, in fear of finding him matching this song... *lol* Absolutely awesome editing, Jaicen, a masterpiece once more! Thank you for saving my Friday to positive scale! :D)

  • @finnhere2 Ah its good. It's like a stage show on camera. I really liked it.. So very 70's. the song is an 80's version, but done in a way totally different from every other version. Thanks Finn

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTIN :o)

What a thrilling, powerful, sexy vid! The scene where he slides his jeans back on...phwoar!!! I haven't seen Buddyboy yet and have obviously missed out on something great. He seems to be quite a scary character...but incredibly gorgeous. This is indeed a wonderful tribute mate and a very fitting song!

  • @Bodie4me He's good in this isn't he? Very unlike anything else he's done (that I've seen). I really liked it. To me it was the closest thing to him being on stage that I'd seen at the time. Now that I've seen him on stage, I could imagine him acting this one in theatre. Thanks B4Me, appreciate you having a look

  • A very Happy Birthday to Martin and thanks for all he has done over the years.

What a great vid Jaicen, I loved this episode and he plays the part so well too. Never heard the song before but it fits the pacing and clips you chose as if it had been written for it. What a versatile actor he is, if he saw this vid he would be so pleased with the result, great work :))

  • @pmgms1962 aww you give the best reviews. thanks. Took me ages to get hold of this song. I couldn't think of any other and I just knew this song would fit, but it's quite old now and not widely available. The last time I ever heard it was on Storm Riders. And I agree, thanks for all your work Martin. Have enjoyed it all.

  • that's a brilliant vid Jaicen!

  • @Yorkmum ta. not many people have seen him in this role so I thought I'd do a vid.

  • I'll join you Jaicen in wishing Martin Shaw best wishes on his birthday. What a lovely tribute to his role in Buddy Boy. It's certainly a unique story and he's definitely not like anybody else *g*. Fantastic editing, love the fast bits and the denim shirt scenes! Thanks for sharing this on MS's birthday it's such a treat xx.

  • @ci5mates thanks as always. Not easy finding a sleezy song to go with MS, as it's hard to see him sleezy. even when he's acting it so well. I liked him in this. cheers
