  • Lol can it 3d?

  • So 2007...

  • Is this cheaper to run than turbine and nitro engines?

  • @climbr7

Definitively cheaper than Turbine ! Regarding nitro engine, after 15 flights, you are recovering the price of your battery, the same amount you will have to pay in nitro. That means, that after 15 flights, you are flying for free as a battery charge costs less than 1 cents in electricity at home ! And I am charging with own made solar panel, than no fees at all !

  • @G2Loq1 that's brilliant! I wonder why more big rc helis and planes aren't made brushless then

  • How big was this when it was filmed, compared to a Raptor E720 or Align 700E?

  • Think your tailboom is bent :)

  • @TheDaveyht3

Thank you... will try to fix it ;-)

  • "It's so big!"

  • How long does it fly for?

  • @ChuffChuffWoo

10 minutes with a 10s1p (42 volts) 5000 mah battery and 1kg load. But it depend on how you flight it. Will do some AP this summer with load and... biggest batteries ! Will let you know.

  • @G2Loq1 That is an impressive flight time given the weight of the load - electric power has come a long way!

  • maybe everyone should look at when this was uploaded 2007 i dont know but maybe just maybe it was the biggest at the time

  • @Ruckerjd01283

    Absolutely right ! ;-)

  • not the biggest

the Ava 1000 developed by Haydn Hamilton in WA, Australia (Haydn's youitube account is Vanhaydn) uses 930mm blades. 6'6" main rotor diameter. 24s. flybarless also

  • @philliphamilton2

Yes my friend, but we were in 2007. Long life to the Ava 1000 !

  • next time attach a rocket pod and some guns on it xD

  • Comment removed

  • 10s 42v??? i tho each cell was 3.7v

  • @Markitos203 4.2V fully charged

  • @trxspirit

Thanks trxspirit. yes better to charge your battery Markitos203 ;-)

  • I hate to tell you this but the biggest Electric RC Heli is a 4meter unit Sorry!! that's no bigger than our other electric units for camera work.

  • That Joker is SWEET! they are expensive but worth it. Much better than ant Trex 700 Elec conversion.

  • I saw a bigger on than this chopper

  • @99minerkc Well u May Seen One But it Was Gas One Probobly And i Dont Think That You Mean on a RC Heli...

  • @juroxzg3 It was electric and it was an RC helicopter. I wish I could remember the model but I can't atm-"maybe"(don't quote me though)it was a T-Rex. Whatever it was, it was SWEET!! If I can find the youtube vid, I'll send it to you.

  • Know what, after looking at this vid again I think yours is the same size except the other guys tail end was more filled in.

You still have a VERY SWEET Heli..

  • Belgian flag!

  • So cool, but I think if I ever got to this stage I'd just get a real helicopter pilot's license. It's cheaper and I'm sure would be more fun!

  • $50,000bucks

  • dude how much

  • whats the reasoning for the raised tail?

  • hang on the bottom and fly to the hobby shop

  • Read well the title my friend : biggest ELECTRIC helicopter. A full size sikorsky helicopter is also bigger... but it do not fly with lipo power ;-)

  • @G2Loq1

Yeah, my bad was late and missed electric, however I am sure it could be ran electric if you so desired and had a small fortune in lipos. :D

  • @G2Loq1 // also its CM not MM

  • UAV!

  • disclamer:not for indoor use.

  • omg if thats electric, it must need one hell of a battery

  • Cool big heli, freaky semi-erect tail. Kind of unnatural, but maybe you're onto something new.

  • loose the music!

  • @dangerousprimate yeah, it's way too tight.

  • @dangerousprimate "loose" your spelling

  • @dangerousprimate

You are right too... My next video will be pure electric sound ! ;-)

  • @dangerousprimate lose. not loose.

  • Nice video 5*! Great flying RC, and great pilot! These hobbies are so fun, and expensive! Haha

If your looking for a cheap start, a nice electric indoor will do. I recommend the Novus CX, $130. I have a few video's explaining it, feel free to check it out, I love these toys. Haha

  • your! right just dont start on big heli's! for sure it wont last long! hehe

  • Haha yea, I learned that the hard way. Broke a 300 dollar CP, because the Hobby Shop guys didn't feel like telling me it was the wrong side to start at.

  • because they want to earn thats why they gave you a big one! haha

  • Very nice heli. I alway liked the design of the Joker but parts here are almost impossible to get hold of. Whats supply like in Canada?

  • sick heli

  • The joker 2 is the best rc heli, it is like silk.....

  • i love the noice of electric motors

  • if this isnt too personal. how much are they and where can i get one from?

  • Don't louse up beautiful things like this with distracting music overlays, it get in the way!

  • Salut G2LOq1. Joli Maxi Joker...

  • can it do 3d

  • Any heli with a Cyclic smashplate can do 3D. It's just some kind of tuning and material resistance that really make a difference with Hard 3D like A.Szabo pilot is doing. So strong and lightweight materials with big power are the keys of hard 3D. Any cyclic heli is able to loop, roll, reverse etc... The negative pitch can be set in a way you can fly inverted. It's only a tune... The Joker particularity is due to tail blades are on the same h-line as the rotor wich confers much more stability...

  • Any heli WITH full collective control. A fixed pitch heli cannot fly inverted. I'm sure you know this, and am trying to tell others as well. Some of us are newbies trying to learn more. . .

  • thats not rc.... its real you can see the pilot in side

  • the sound of the blades whacking the air is awsome

  • does this have belt driven tail rotor or electric? or gear system?

  • Belt driven tail rotor my friend with a gear ball bearing connection beetween the 2 tail boom.... ;-)

  • if toys have huge blades that rotate at a speed of 1000 rpm+ then HOLY SHIT!

  • 1250 RPM..... ;-)

  • lol XD

  • weak lift

  • Yes, transmitter bad setting as explained on previous comment. It was a test. Check the second video.

  • Nice helicopter

  • Actually, you can. Google it ;)

  • easily go for a walk on it

  • i hate it when people call them toys, they are not toys there seriuos pieces of equipment people dont understand the skill it takes to fly one, or the time it takes to repaid one!! uv gotta have a passion for it

  • I think this would be perfect for an Apache scale helicopter look. It already has the bent tail, and it's nice and big! Thanks for posting!

  • nice heli very smooth

  • Comment removed

  • Esky esmart is 30 size... with blade of 52cm.

This one is 90 size with blade of 81cm.

  • would suck to crash it lol but nice heli

  • that looks pretty sick, im going to get the syma rc 603 helcopter for novice flyers.

  • Awesome heli and flying love to have that one

    looking forward to see more

  • Where are u? Looks like a place I go to in Toronto...

  • Not so fare, Mirabel closed Montreal (Quebec)

  • sad i did not see the beginning intro of the video, my appologies :P

  • I saw a more big rc helis...

  • Are you sure it was an electric chopper.... ? ;-)

  • of course

  • Let us know guy, I'am interesteed. Thanks

  • Then, need to know the brand and the size. It is suppose to be the biggest electric chopper ;-)

  • I do love the sound of big electrics, great flying. Looks great man.

  • how long do the batterys on that heli last for?

  • 10 minutes with a 10s1p (42 volts) and 5.000 mah. 7 minutes with a 3.700 mah same voltage

  • fucking noob its a eletric heli you maby got smoke in your eyes

  • if it aint electric, then how the hell does he turn it on at the beginning lol

    think about it...

  • that is electric you fucking idiot go put a dick in your ass you stupid idiot god damnit your dumb

  • that is good or bad?

  • Wow voodootl! ....

    Don't feed the trolls. LOL

  • LOL.... yeah man i know but sometimes you gotta just cuss a motherfucker ya know? The great thing about this hobby is the fact that 99.9% of the enthusiasts are very willing to help noobs or anyone else interested in the hobby....

  • How much dose it Cost! and could you possibly make another video with Next to it so we can see the proportion! or Size please Thanks Josh.

  • As is.... this is a 3 000 $ bird without the battery.

More video will be done next week in this way !

  • Cool video. But I would've liked someone to stand next to the heli to be able to judge it's size. Or next to it's rc transmitter even.

  • That will be done soon:)

New videos are on the way !

  • wat motor does it use?

  • Actro 24-5 motor my friend !

  • Thats huge!

  • Tres belle Helico et tres beau vol.

    Felicitation !

  • ...very nice machine that you have, I think "Nose-In" isn`t really a problem for you, I just saw your Logo14-video and I`m going to watch your other videos! I like your video style and indeed your great music-background....(the 80`s)simply very good heli-entertainment for heli-freaks like me!!!

  • I'll trade my 97 Chevy Van for one!

  • Is there any advantage or difference to having the tail boom bent like that for the tail rotor? I see on most Helis that it's just straight

  • Yes, there is advantage for the stability. The tail rotor is at the same height of the main rotor = less turbulence !

  • yes and also, the tail rotor of any helicopter pushes the helicopter sideways, if its lower than the main rotor as in most cases, it causes the heli to be more tilted as the sideways thrust is below the main rotor plane. so its better when level with main rotor

  • yes and also, the tail rotor of any helicopter pushes the helicopter sideways, if its lower than the main rotor as in most cases, it causes the heli to be more tilted as the sideways thrust is below the main rotor plane. so its better when level with main rotor

  • Ah, so THATS why I see that some RC Helis are tilted in their hover. It all makes sense now...

  • is that bigger than the trex 700?

  • Yes. T-Rex 700 is... 700mm blades size and this joker is a 800 mm and up to 810 mm blades.

As Align want the whole market, we should expect a T-REX 800 and maybe 900 or 1 000 soon ;)

  • I'd like to see the front if that heli. Learn nose in.

  • Hehe, I will try to learn nose in ;) You may also check the other videos for it. I will fly again this bird soon and post video with nose in and more as the problems found during this flight test are now fixed.

  • very funny tail & tailrotor!!!

  • fuck thats huge

  • I love your choice of music! So refreshing, compared to every other heli vid out there, all of which have been uploaded by guys who thought they were really clever because they used "Ride of the Valkyries," or actually believed themselves to the very first to use the themes from "Blue Thunder,' "Airwolf," or "M.A.S.H."

  • None of them, however, annoy me as much as the ones whose airplane videos feature that horrible guitar-rock song from Top Gun! Check out my RC flight videos, by the way, and you'll see that I like to utilize all kinds of new wave, synth pop, electro, house, and alternative sounds.

  • Thanks for your comment flightsuit. And congratulation for your videos.

I also have many videos without music, just the blades's and electric motor sound.

  • That in itself can be the sweetest music! Now then, being a child of the 1980's, I'm very embarrassed to be asking this question, 'cause I should already know this:

What are the names of this song and its creator(s)?

I know I'm gonna be kicking myself when you tell me, 'cause like I said, I should already know this!

  • Simple Minds - Title: New Gold Dream from the Album:

    New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84)

    A real child of the 80's ? :)

  • Ah! Of course!

If all went according to plan, I have sent you a video which will lend credence to my claim...

(I'm somebody who actually gets pumped up listening to Blancmange, and I can flawlessly recite the lyrics to any Haizy Fantayzee, EBN-OZN, Nina Haagen, or P.I.L. song.)

  • amen

  • An apache fuse would go well with that!

  • Yes jaysadie !... I'am also thinking to go with the Canadian CH-149 Cormorant (search with that words on google images and you will have on the first page the yellow and red big heli of the canadian forces) fuselage. I will have to go flybarless with 5 blades....

The 45 degres cranked tail are identical. And I really love this heli.

  • hate the canopy

  • I hate the people that hate my canopy !

    Joke ;)

Check, at the right, on "About This Video". There is a link to my RunRyder page with pictures of the new canopy.

I also prefer the new one.

Anyway, this colored canopy do the job: to let me know even fare away in witch position this bird is...

  • Just search on Google for "Minicopter Maxi Joker helicopter". Minicopter is the german brand for it.

  • What is the payload on that beast? Have you tried to do any dead-lift tests? With its sheer size I bet aerial photography would come out nice and smoothe.

  • The payload should be beetween 2.5 to 3.5 kg!

I will do some test with such load and check the max amp and RPM. This bird is definitevely for AP (HDTV video and pictures) :)

  • is there a reason why this heli caries the belgian tricolore?

  • Nope Krizla4 from Belgium:)

Just nice colors. And the blue landing gear!

  • "I may admit I was not confident for this first flight."

Don't kiss this jerkoff's ass. You're making it happen!

  • Jallel You are pathetic

  • Friend, I get 30 - 40 good flights on a 2100mah pack, After that it goes to an rc plane cause it starts to swell. You dont want to compromise a flight with an old battery. good luck

  • I may admit I was not confident for this first flight. The tail had little vibration (some glitches coming from the gyro I fixed too hard). Anyway, I crashed so many bird at my first test flight that I prefer to be careful now :). I can deal with your perception. Still waiting for the good weather: and I will post some hottest video. It will be not very hard to do so!

  • Hi Ricardo,

i you dammaged your blades it is normal your bird shakes. You maybe also dammage other part like main shaft. Just my 2 cents:) Better for you to go on runryder dot com. You will find out all the information you are looking for and also free help. It is the best forum for heli guys

  • Hommie, you need some flight sim time b4 you wreck that thing.... Dont take it personally, but you cant land 4 shirt. (sp intentional)

  • Thanks for your advice. It was a flight test as indicate in the topic. Then, the goal was to check the watt consumption, gyro setting, RPM, blades tracking etc... Not to go inverted ;) Check my other video for that.

Regarding the drop at the end, the problem came from the Pitch Curve setting. They were different in Normal mode versus Throttle hold... And the VRB (A,B or C) on my Futaba transmitter was not in the middle: A real flight test ! Problem was fixed. Just need good weather now :)

  • 10-4 I got it, proceede with caution, thats a big commitment flying in front of you. i just set up my 50 nitro, I'll be flying in a couple of days if all goes well.

Why'd you choose electric for such a big copter? I felt like if i went that big I could almost go for a 2 stroke 25cc engin rathet than batteries at $300-500 a clip. Plus the voltage regulator and elecronic stuff. What are your thoughts? What mmade you steer away from a gas engine?

  • Why electric ? It is less noise and smoke free :) Just the pleasure to hear the blades sound. No gas and grease to clean after a day of flying. No oil on the camera as I will use this bird for AP. With lipo or A123 batteries (really cheap now), electric brushless motor are now more powerfull than gas engine.

After 70 flights, I pay my battery and I fly for free. Vs 30$ of nitro-gas every day...

  • Well, depending how you decide to live your life. If you want to see on it only scaring and dangerous things, maybe you are missing some experiences.

  • Only if they were naughty my friend.... ;-)

  • Obviously this aint a 6 channel...or is it? From this flight and what i can see, i would think this is a 4 channell!

  • This is a CCPM setting. Then, there is 3 servos for the cyclic, 1 servo for the tail, 1 channel for the Gyro, 1 channel for the speed controller and 1 free plug for the alimentation.

Then this bird need a 7 channel receiver and a 6 channel transmitter. As this bird will be use for aerial photography, it is a 9 channel receiver and transmitter: Futaba 9CHP heli mode. The 2-3 extra channel will be used for the camera and an additionnal gyro. Thanks for watching

  • OMG it's BIG! Did you bought it for photo or video?

  • Both ! And also for the fun... of course ;-)

  • Obviously...

    Compliments, great model!

  • Nice, do you have it with only the sound from the rotors and drives? =)

Was it the battery that got emptied at the end that caused the sudden drop?

  • I tried to mix the music at the low level... I understand I failed :) Next fly video will be without music, I promis you !

Regarding the drop at the end, the problem came from the Pitch Curve setting. They were different in Normal mode versus Throttle hold... And the VRB (A,B or C) on my Futaba transmitter was not in the middle:

    A real flight test.

Next flight should be more impressive... with more blades sound ;)

  • Cool, tough i like Simple Minds very much my self :-D

What i love about the electrics, is that it has more distinctive sound from the rotors due the not so distinctive sound from the engine compared to that aweful fuel sound. I actually think electric has a more authentic sound, unless you move over to turbine engines :) I have one myself in my gallery with navigation lights on, take a look, the filming is not best, but... Chris

  • I saw your navigation lights on your Maxi Joker. Really nice, congratulations! But we need a video of it in the air... at night :)

  • Thanks Lingo Deal. It was only a first flight test. Then the purpose is to test the blades and paddle tracking, to check the RPM, to trim the servos in flight, to adjust the sensibility of the tail gyro/servo etc...

On most helicopter this is lot of work to do so. With this one, just by following the manual, this chopper was already perfectly setted.

Regarding the 3d, it should be able to do so. But my first goal with it is Aerial photography/videos as it can handle it own weight: 5 kg!

  • That is so awesome. Will you be posting the videos you capture in flight on to youtube?. I've always wanted to do something like that. What sort of camera are you thinking of mounting on it and how will it be mounted?. Thanks.

  • For sure I will post some videos. I already did some test with my Logo 14 (see on my video gallery and on my RunRyder page -Link on the Lama video comments). But I definitevely need a Maxi Joker to handle a High Definition Camera with all the stuff (Gyro, camera mount, servo for the rotation, 2.4gh transmission etc...). Under white canadian land very soon, frozen water or falls it should be... magic. Coming soon then:)

  • Thats sounds like an expensive but awesome setup. Be good if you can get some work to help with the costs. I've watched your other videos and have subscribed to your videos. HD footage of Canada in wintertime will be great footage.Filming the white snow & dark green forests maybe a challenge but sounds like your upto it. Cheers.
