A snake that size is still not a danger to people. Big constrictors just don't attack people. You would have to agitate or threaten it. Or hit it. Or something like that.

If the kids tried to catch it, sure, it might retaliate, but a snake that's 20+ feet long is hard to miss. Unless you're letting your kids play out of sight in a field somewhere, I think they're ok. A much smaller, venomous snake is more dangerous.
