  • Can someone explain this? I looked at the judging sheet, and she was given NO marks for her spiral sequence. It was considered an omission for some reason. This caused her to fail to make the long program. Was it that she did not hold the positions long enough? For the life of me I will never understand how a skater can get no credit for an element. If it was a mistake, it cost her the chance to qualify in the free, and that is a real problem.

  • fuck north korea

  • @korea902 Don't say that. They might have a crazy Gov and the people are brain washed. But don't say that.. Things are changing...

  • Maybe it's just me, but I can see an incredible sadness in her face. She is such a wonderful skater and it's a terrible shame that before now, no one had vere really heard of her.

  • her spirals are beautiful! and skating is such a sport where u have to have great skating and ur coach has to be at least well known....then you will get somewhere..

  • I feel that these are low, but not as low as what's been said. She's still a marvelous talent, and it's a shame that she was never able to flourish like she could have. Her program lacked in choreography, which would have brought her component scores up, plus she most likely got a negative GOE score on her combo and her flip was probably downgraded. Another flaw in this judging system, you can see great skating like this and not see it rewarded but rather penalized for trying. ;_;

  • \\\beautiful program. i think she's a better skater than stiffy girl yuna kim

  • BIAS! WHY DID SHE GET A VERY LOW POINTS!!!

  • In my opinion.. I think it was good enough to qualify for the long program too especially artistically.. I think the only area she would need more practice would be the jumps a little bit but everything else I find it very underscored.

  • this is much better than midori ito's program b4

  • I wonder how North Koreans feel when they watch Yuna performs.I cheer for Yong Suk even though she lives in the different boundary.I cheered for Ko hyun Suk,the ST Skater in Vancouver.

I hope Yong Suk soon has a chance to have a nice smile on her face.

  • @53820351 If I am Korean I cheer for both Koreans. If I am not Korean, I cheer for Yuna first then Yong Suk. They are inidividuals who are passionate athletes and should not be politicized at all.

  • @53820351 They don't see how prosperous the south is. All that stuff is blocked. If you asked a North Korean they would go "Who?". THey don't know any of the big-time Korean brands like Hyundai, Samsung. I'm sure the same carries over for Kim YuNa. Same principles. It's a shame.

  • this was a good program. Technically it was superb regarless of the flip. The jurisdiction UNFAIR!!!

  • i though north korean couln´t get out of the country??

  • I didn't know she existed. Yea I feel bad for the people of North Korea being oppressed and malnutritioned. Her being north korean probably affected her results. ):

  • 01:29

    Best part.

  • I did like her skating. Whenever I do see a North Korean, on video, I always do feel sorry for them because of the oppression and their country and that they are not free.

  • North Korean skaters used to dominate in Asia back in 1970s~1980s.

  • I am originally from South Korea, and I didn't even know there was a figure skater from North Korea. Thanks for posting!

  • ive never seen anyone from north korea skate & i wanst excpecting anything this good because of it but she was good! needed to work on the showmanship & flexiblity buts she was old so thats probly why but other than that she was great!

  • yes. becasue i am a korean and i know that both koreas hate each other. foreigners might not understand. but south korea hates kimjongill but not really the citizens. i pity them as kim jong ill is the only one who gets all the money while the citizens are dying of starvation. anyways, kim young suk did well under a condition as north korean has practicall nothing about skating

  • very good. She just needs to perform a little more. She seems to be skating only for herself, but great elements and very undermarked!

  • Her jumps are amazing and so high! She should have been qualified for the Free Skate. And she's beautiful!

  • Before you get angry at my comments, I would like for you to think of this.. I know there are two Koreas, the North and the South. But I want to know when, if when will there be ONE Korea!

  • It will be when U.s. army withdraw completely from that peninsula, just like vietnam situation.Regards.

  • Thanks for answering. The US has no right to interfere with North Korea's business. And I hope you agree with me.

  • wow triple LUTZ!!!

    jump lightly

  • good jumps, good glide, good interpretation, bad score...

  • i feel she was undermarked as well... her spiral not so hot but her spins especially camel were pretty good and that triple lutz toe combo alone plus double axel was probably worth her near entire technical scores... it is like they didnt notice anything else... granted something was missing

but not so much to put her in such a dismal spot in the short program

  • Shame on you. Kim Yong Suk and Kim Yun A are same Korean. If you are an Yuna's fan, how can you put this comment? You are a shame to all Korean.

  • I thought this was good enough to qualify for the long program!

  • this was a nice performance despite the fall on the triple flip, yeah i do agree with you waterloofan1 she was very poorly undermarked.

  • something special, different from the others.

  • she has such talent!!! if she was born in america she would have won golds in the world. so sad that she was born in n. korea where they don't really help ppl like her a whole lot....

  • hugely undermarked, agree, she should get into the finals at least!

  • She has wonderful qualities but she doesn't have the coaching which goes with it. I mean, how can she underrotate these jumps with this amazing height? They say she trained alone. I mean, it's the Olympics, if you're alone, then there's a real problem in your coaching.

  • I think it's because she didn't hold her positions minimum 3 seconds in the spiral sequence.

  • how does her butt have anything to do with this???

  • and having a flat butt has anything to do with that amazing performance? whatever that was un-needed.

  • Wonderful athelete!! Juicy knees!! You can achieve height in the jumps, if you focus on it........

  • what were the judges seeing? She deserved to make finals.

  • I totally agree :) ~KJ

  • beautiful,,,

  • fuck...i feel sorry for her. nk prolly beat her up for falling...i thought she was rlly good.

  • she's not bad at all! She's pretty good! I think her spins are controlled well, though her landing needs to be improved on some jumps. Her flexibility are much better than Yu Na Kim........

  • woo.. i dont know about that. her layback and spirals were not quite there. and for spins, she needs to center them.

  • it was okay...you can see that she was struggling on her balance...

  • you are all idiots. The point is that she's from NK where everything is run by a dictator. She was probably beaten for not winning.

  • I am quite impressed with her skating in spite of her fall... She's not bad at all.... I think she has a great potential to become an olympian champ.

  • sorry. she's NORTH Korean :-)

  • Good job !!

  • can you imagine what she'd be like outside of North Korea? Jeez~~ Her spins need work, but there's so much potential.

  • Her levels for her spins and spirals were probably 1 or 2. The step out, and the lack of any real footwork going into it which is required, probably got -GoE too. Also finished late.

  • Too bad about the underrotation and fallout on the flip. Those were huge mistakes on a required element. She is a very nice skater, though. Wonderful spring in her jumps. Among the best I've ever seen. If the CH, PE/EX, TR difficulty would have been higher, it would have been a different story, I'm sure.

  • She is very good

  • Her position on the camel spin was quite good.

  • I don't she's that great either but she was grossly undermarked. 27th? Come on.

  • Beautiful! I hope we get to see her skate again...
