mientras mas oigo aestos grupos, mas detesto la musica de hoy,no es que sea uno quedado, sino que se nota a miles de millas de distancia la calidad de estos grupos a comparacion de las bandas de hoy.
Summer Ice covered this song too. We were a high school band that played it at gymnastic shows and school events. It was always a hit song. I sang it then and now I cannot hit half of the notes. lol
Our band, The Common People, covered this tune as soon as it came out. We often opened our set with this one, (and sometimes, Lovely To See You Again, by The Moody Blues). This juicy groove, and sublime performance has long been a favorite. This track still stands. Hearing it brings to mind memories of "68...The BEST SUMMER, EVER! RIP Buddy, and Mike. Thanks for sharing yourselves with us.
This is and was a very important album. I still have a vinyl copy from my teen years. Pretty much worn out, but I can't toss it for sentimental reasons. They don't make music like this anymore. Bloomfield was an idiot like Hendrix for throwing away his talent to cop a heroin high, but thanks for the memories guys. Wish you'd have been smarter. We miss you.
@TOOMUCHTlME Bloomfield's decline was steep. His playing probably peaked 1965-68. He really hit the skids after 1968. The albums got weaker, his attempts at crooning were awful. By the time of KGB circa 1975 he was all done. He died in 1981, but was dead for a long time before.

I've always thought the background vocals sound just like Cass Elliot but I can't confirm this.

@CaptainBeyond72 Check out Woody Herman's 1971 recording, "Brand New" which featured guest guitarist Michael Bloomfield. Classic Bloomfield!
