a sleeper, underrated season. The only great incarnation of Rob. Returning player stuff is crap. Always better the first time out, not knowing what to expect and not knowing each other. this was unadulterated Rob helping change the way the game was played. Not heroic, just a player.
Also, one of the best story arcs ever in Kathy. Set the template for what a growth story arc can be, and never been bested. She's still my fave player evah.

Boston Rob doesn't even come from Boston. He comes from Canton, as the video shows, and he lives currently is Pensacola, Florida with Amber (his wife) and their daughter.

Vecepia/Neleh final 2 was a joke. my favorite seasons after 22 of them are Australian, Amazon, All-Stars, Borneo, HeroesVillians, Palau, China, and Africa which i thought was underrated now that time has passed.

@toonytown2 I realize that...and not to take anything away from Kathy and Vecepia, because they were both good players, but in personality and entertainment value, you do have to admit that Rob gave the editors the most material to work with, so I can easily see why he's the most memorable player from that season ♥♥

Skip this season if you haven't seen it yet. It's a painfully boring season. If you are persistent in watching this season I recommend to just watch the first 6 episodes after that there isn't a single personality worth watching, boring. Everything sucked in this season. The cast, the teams, the final 9, the final 2, the winner & the reunion were dreadful. I've only watched the 1st 5 seasons thus far (over the last couple months), please let me know if any seasons are worse, I'll skip them?
Survivor Africa and Survivor Marquesas are out on DVD I'm getting them for Christmas I will have all eight seasons that are out on DVD. I don't care if people say get a life I just don't watch my Survivor DVDs all day I have a life too I do other things.
Loved Boston Rob, Sean, Gina and Kathy and give the season credit for having the first group of players discover something fairly obvious. That being said, I think the season lacked the dramatic tension of the first three seasons and losing their most dynamic players early on. On the plus side, its not Survivor Thailand.
@charby09 man are you smoking crack. This season was dreadful. The only thing that made this season watchable was Boston Rob. but he gets voted off 10th. From that point on there isn't a single personality worth watching. Horrible casting overall. Anyone with a personality in this season got voted around the beginning. If that's not bad enough, the final 2 were the worst Survivors to ever make the final 2. If that's not bad enough the reunion failed miserably, which is why it changed after.

The only person with a personality that got the boot before Rob was Gabe Cade. This season had an amazing endgame after the Rotu 4 got Pagonged and Vecepia is widely known as one of the better Survivors (by real fans, not Dalton Ross). Stop blowing stuff out of your ass.

People are kidding themselves if they think survivor weighs more on strategy than luck. In the game at times one can make subtle decisions that will make or break them, but that's about it. In Vecepia's situation, to say she was strategic at all, is a lie. There's a reason why this season is ranked 2nd to last out of all seasons. I guarantee you Boston Rob is the only reason it's not last.

Survivor hinges on the SOCIAL game above all else. And Vecepia played a damn nice one. She always made sure that she was in the winning alliance and her name never got written down until the FTC (Tammy boot is an exception since it was a throwaway vote). That smells like a fantastic SOCIAL game to me.
Marquesas isn't one of the best seasons around but on Sucks, I know it's rated higher than CI, Samoa and Fiji.
@MRredhotlava A couple months ago I started watching survivor. I started from the 1st season and I just finished the 5th season. So I don't have a time bias so to speak. Season 4 was by far the worst season through 5. Please let me know if there are any seasons as bad as this season so I could skip over them, since I intend to go through them all?
@virtuesss1 Well I'm not completely sure that we would have the same opinion on every season, but over all I would say skip Fiji..I hardly even consider that Survivor it's so terrible. But other than that I think you should watch every season, yes some may be a lot more boring than others, but they are all still mostly great..I advise you to watch Pearl Islands, Cook Islands, Tocantins, Samoa, Guatemala, Panama, and Nicaragua. Those were really good!
@virtuesss1 Seasons 6(Amazon), 7(Pearl Islands), and 8(All Stars) are my personal favorites out of all 21 seasons. So I would definitely watch those 3. After that it tails off a bit. Fiji is the worst season in my opinion. China and Gabon were pretty lousy too. If I were you the only reason that I would watch China is so that you're introduced to a few people who come back and play again in later seasons. All the others are worth watching, but not as enjoyable as the first 8 seasons.
I downloaded it just yesterday and yeah, it was the same quality. Anyone know where to get the season in a better one? It's bound to be interesting. :-)

Never heard of the Marquesas Islands until I Wikipedia'd. Of course, the islands is adminstrative part of French Polynesia. What I had seen so far the islands is very beautiful and untainted by tourism.
yea, and thats not including all the money used for the challenges, rewards, permission to use the land, ads, and where to hold the finale. plus the fact that everyone gets money for participating determined by how well they did in the game! so thats plus like another 2-3 mil per season!!!!!!!! probly more! o . 0
@sunlitrain the reason they weren't given food is because the living conditions in this season were much easier then the previous one's. They all won food early on anyways. This season probably lost the least amount of weight out of the first 5 seasons.

I love Rob too...mainly because you have to admire that when it comes to strategy and making alliances, I haven't seen anyone better than him, and the fact that he's good looking helps
you're a year off actually, the first season was in the summer of 2000, S2 was after the superbowl in winter 2001, Africa was fall of 2001 and S4 was in late winter, early spring 2002

Thank you for posting this! This is my first viewing of this season.
Does anyone know if the contestants for this season came in realizing that they would have NO food provisions as did the preceding seasons?

@sunlitrain the reason they weren't given food is because the living conditions in this season were much easier then the previous one's. They all won food early on anyways. This season probably lost the least amount of weight out of the first 5 seasons.

i like paschal i think he is a nice guy. from watching the show anyway. and unlike most people i actually like Rob M. or Boston Rob as people soon start to call him. i don't really know why i like him but anyway i think he is cute too.

I love Rob too...mainly because you have to admire that when it comes to strategy and making alliances, I haven't seen anyone better than him, and the fact that he's good looking helps

This is season 4, and survivor 1 aired on fall 2001.
S1: fall 01
S2: spring 2002
S3: fall 2002
S4: spring 2004
And you can see that the reunion show was hosted by Rosie o'donnel on mother's day.

you're a year off actually, the first season was in the summer of 2000, S2 was after the superbowl in winter 2001, Africa was fall of 2001 and S4 was in late winter, early spring 2002

at least stentilyzier had the brains to code her title, so the clips aren't removed like most the Survivor seriers have been off youtube.
