Not everyone engages in war with his demons and ends up a winner. Respect & love for the public figure that he is, for the person behind it that he is, always.

But I can't ever ever drink Some CAN drink, like have one drink and be done. I must take strong opiate pain meds and a benzo-the pot would be safe if worked -and have to be careful cause that's what I liked, but other people feel the same about Adderal + aren't into my meds. So don't judge, maybe pot and red wine aren't heroin triggers for him
John has so much potential. A great artist, with a deep mind. This shouldn't make you feel that it's sad or make you feel sorry for him, but to have you understand where the hard times are driven to. To have you understand that drugs don't make you a terrible person, it's what a terrible life comes out to. But luckily he cleaned up along the way, making more astounding music for our heart's musical ears to be touched by.

As I watched and listened, I cried...to see him bleed, to see the pain...it's truly heartbreaking..but to know that he survived this, to know that the strength and bravery it must have took to break free of this fills me with so much hope. Self destructive behaviors are related despite delarations of "oh no, I'd never, not me" Think of it ppl in cars traveling the same road and choosing different exit signs..results depend on the make of the car (driving 4 cylinder at 95mph will not last) vs a solid 6-8 cyl. (can longer and faster, need more gas tho) Taking early exits vs not..These factors all meet and determine who gets off the road, what shape they're in and who gets to on to create.

It belongs on the human being who is brave enough to let us see him at his worst. His best is the very best but thats easy to show. He lets us see the whole of it. @TheBabzion SOL4R15 has a point, some drugs (particularly heroin and weed) do help the creative flow of music and art through your body as those drugs open up parts of your subconcious that are otherwise hidden from your knowledge.... if heroin wasnt a real killer, it would be the best shit on the planet

He made a few songs on Niandra and Smile on drugs, but to say that's his best work is purely opinion. Although from what I know he still smoked weed after he got clean from crack and all that other shit. I don't think he ever created anything with the peppers with anything other than weed.

I love this video, so real, so good. Makes me want to shoot up everytime i watch it though, which i guess is kind of sick on my behalf. But i do have to say, his arm is really bad here, so swollen and what not. i can tell you from personal experience for someones arm to get that swollen you have to be pretty bad off. And from what ive heard John had a really bad time fixing, i mean he had trouble shooting himself up, finding a vain, He would just jab it in and inject, not doing in properly

This seems a rare moment of deep sad inspiration from frusciante during an extremely sad time. The rest of the album is mostly screams and limp wristed playing. Most don't do nothing when they is on heroin so it shows his talent can shine through even everything the drug world has to mess one up.
This is incredible incredible! The rest of the album is the real heroin thing though. Heroin won't make you sound this good. It will drain you before you know it.

This video adds a new dimension to SFTSYH as a whole. Listening to the track I guess you don't realise how fkd up and how dark this period of JF's life really was. I can't get passed how swollen his right arm is, in comparison to his left, the splatters of blood and the precision he's using to shoot up. I wouldn't say this video disturbs me - it does make me sad to think he had to go through this period, which was probably as black and white as this video...So many experiences in 38 years...

This seems a rare moment of deep sad inspiration from frusciante during an extremely sad time. The rest of the album is mostly screams and limp wristed playing. Most don't do nothing when they is on heroin so it shows his talent can shine through even everything the drug world has to mess one up.

He's singing this song in that section, the footage was edited out of sync on purpose.... so I would guess that the footage is from 1996 or 1997.

I might be wrong about the footage in the middle.... most of the tracks on 'Smile From the Streets You Hold' were recorded in 1994 and were extra tracks left off of 'Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt'. So that footage could have been shot anytime between '94 and '96.

no..listen to his audio interview about the empyrean..he doesn't say they're split up but they have no plans at all atm and it seems john is suggesting that they don't intend to get back togeather, at least not for the forseable future. I don't know what the problem is, they made some incredible music and maybe its time for something new, there's a lot of music to explore...

yes.. coupled with the fact he is a very sensitive person and had anthony kiedis as a very close friend. but knowing this dark history makes his return albums Californication and By the Way all the more beautiful. People will diss By the Way but I think John's harmonics on that album make it sooo damn good.. especially Dosed.

This video adds a new dimension to SFTSYH as a whole. Listening to the track I guess you don't realise how fkd up and how dark this period of JF's life really was. I can't get passed how swollen his right arm is, in comparison to his left, the splatters of blood and the precision he's using to shoot up. I wouldn't say this video disturbs me - it does make me sad to think he had to go through this period, which was probably as black and white as this video...So many experiences in 38 years...

He was fucked up. I sure as hell won't be gettin' hooked on that shit any time soon. He seems so...alert or scared in this it's just like a warped void where nothing is in existence. Just watching makes me feel alone...like the world is falling on my shoulders and the only thing that will save me is what kills me the most. Why can't I stop watching this video.
