What I find strange is the constant "porpoising". That is a 46' Skater running on almost glass-smooth water. It should not be loping like that.

@CC2755 Sorry boys, but the video clip only has wind sound... you can't hear the turbines over the sound of the heli and wind... they're actually very quite compared the piston engines when they're running.... I have tons of turbine videos with engine sounds, spooling up etc. Check out my youtube channel alvinski100

Not the color I would have chosen as the base(although I've seen some nice designs with different colors off that orange)and the cockpit is super small. I've seen seating for eight in the Superman 49Skater. Three across at the helm and five on the bench. Now that's a Poker Run cockpit!! :D

Randy Scism puts 16 1/2" diameter props on his 42 and 44 pleasure boats so that should be about right for yours.

What speeds are you seeing now? Do you have the 1400hp T53s or the 1800hp T53-703s?

16 x 35 5 blades work great.

1400's that have been tweaked.

Have not had it to top end. Have hit 150 mph neighborhood several times and still accelerating.

We do repower to turbine from $250k to $400k depending on the package TM 1450 or TM 1800 and the level of the rigging... luxury performance to race spec. A turbine boat can be had from $700k for a couple of year old to $1.5 mill with new boat smell and all the extras... remember that a 2 year old still has 10 times the life expectancy of a new gas boat... nice.

Hi a log at 60mph in a open consol or sport fisherman and you have a big hole in the hull and a sinking feeling... hit a log at 120mph you have a busted drive and bent prop and "go slow" to the lift... if you're that worried about logs, then stay home and watch the telly instead.

We have the private owner boats going up to 150mph... they'll cruise all day long at 130 mph... race versions run 200mph+, Fuel is Jet A or bio diesel at $2.50 a gallon... not $15 galln race fuel that gas motors need to get close to this perfomance... burn it all day with low to no petrolium based emissions... nice.

If you do, do your passengers a favor and opt for the wraparound windshield. The wind funneling through those quarter canopies is like a hurricane. I would not want to be sitting in the center seat without a helmet on.
