It's sad that Grover Norquist's "Leave us Alone" Coalition doesn't include things like legal gay marriage, legal abortion, and other social freedoms. His Leave Us Alone Coalition is as narrow as you can get.
Besides, legislating morality is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! What about the real Americans who believe in freedom? You guys wanna take our social freedoms away when it comes to sex, abortion, euthanasia, and so much more, all in the name of "protecting morality" or "protecting society." Go live in your own conservative counterculture if you hate America so much. This is the real America: love it or leave it. We've made a lot of mistakes but corrected those mistakes and come far since 1776.
These Christian fundies are little more than bullies. They act tough and claim they don't have to abide by the same societal rules as everyone else, but they're really cowards on the inside. Well I think they just don't realize that there is a connection between Capitalism and the destruction of families. Are you really surprised that people divorce when they have no time for each other because of their jobs? Are you really surprised that they follow consumerism when they are bombed with commercials?
OK here's the thing. She's talking about social progress as if it were an attack on some wonderful perfect culture that would have stayed perfect had we not made the progress (acceptance of homosexuals as people with rights is what I'm talking about here).
The scary part is not what she's saying, it's the number of people who listen to this and would vote her way.
