  • I love that thing she does at 0:53

  • so is this trip hop like massive attack or something else?

  • @IcyScythe - you could say that. cocteau twins were a major part of the 80's, so, they were probably the inspiration for all that came after.

  • @fredilexi the cocteau twins are much more than some triphop act like massive attack. listen and educate yourself mr!!!!!

  • J'ADORE cette musique!!!

  • i love this song even though it's older than i am, but i have to admit the lyrics are kind of whoa especially the line "put your toes in my mouth, well make love, and we can go" thats some kinky stuff, but her voice is amazing, so it doesn't really matter lol

  • timeless beauty...

  • hey, thank's a million for posting this, great tune, nice video.

  • Comment removed

  • Simple. Pure. Magic. Words are really not enough to describe the majestic beauty of this song - I want it playing when I die.

  • Can't look out, can't look in

    Can't kiss right

    Get yourself get right

Lift up your toes, in my mouth

We'll make love and we can go. and we can go.

  • This is one of the best songs ever.

  • thank you for this...

  • Superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • yah, though the image doesn't match, i like to take this to attach on my fb

    the image is quite sickening

no matter what i'm impressed with the sound quality

the others are of bad sound quality

dont worry, we can not have it in both way

    thx for uploading this

  • HELP I am just melting with all these great songs--whatever happened to originality, oh yeh-that never was popular on the radio, except for college stations

  • fredilexi: i think it's a lovely idea with the kaleidoscope experiment : )

  • Sorry to disappoint you serious0001! This was my very first attempt of playing with transitions. I agree it's not a great production and it's not worthy of the song. Forgive me! fredilexi

  • @fredilexi - I agree, but have to say the effect of high contrast black & white on the flowers looks pretty damn good, should experiment with that.

  • @fredilexi I like your video very much!

  • @fredilexi don't take seriously0001 too seriously - i thought this video went perfectly with this great tune! excellent work!

  • @fredilexi chill, you are ok. i'd like to see some strippers. it is a great song. its nice to see her sing. i was 16 when she married me. she can take more acid than is humanly possible. seriously0001 is a lesbian

  • @fredilexi ....dont be so fast to apologize friend. no video is worthy of the twins if it isnt done by the band themselves. however, this is a nice interpretation. i happen to like it....so there ! lol

  • @fredilexi i think this video works very well.

i visualised it automically when i felt like playing this gorgeous song again.

  • @seriously0001 I'd ratehr they make a black screen video than no video at all, why hate? :c

  • @jammybin2

    No hate, at all.

We all have our likes and dislikes. I'm not crazy for slide and kaleidoscopic patterns. BTW this song is magical... I just close my eyes and thank for sharing it.

  • @seriously0001 Keep your rude opinions to yourself you poop. I actually think this is and interesting video, even if it wasn't they can make the video if they god damn please.

  • @guypoop listen to me, hellokitty: I wrote _my_opinion_ as far your girlfriend's personal video interpretation of this great song. Comments are open, I don't need your approval nor I'm looking for anyone. Apparently you seem to be the only one around here in search of flames and nothing else. But you surely know Cocteau Twins and E. Fraser works, isn't? No, they weren't emo.

Don't kick up. If you want to flame, then meet me in alt.flame. Bye

  • Cool song to dance to. By the way there was a wonderful band named Lorelei on slumberland records and fans of 'the twins' might like them.

  • Beautiful Music for Beautiful People

  • Beautiful comment...

  • transandant de pureté de par sa voix et sa musique

  • the first song i heard from cocteaus. bloody brilliant

  • perhaps their most typical or representative song? fuckit, I dunno, an audio-induced orgasm is what it is..

  • Treasure was the first cocteau's album I ever owned. Haven't listened to it in years but going to order online. Still brilliant

  • another cocteau great is " orange appled " or something like that lol great tune look it up

  • second part of lirycs

    And we can go

    And we can go

We're covered by the sacred fire

But when you cut me, you cut me to the bone

  • Strap, you kill a bit my fantasy. For me Liz Fraser'voice was like a musical instrument. Despite I understand a bit English, I always refused to understand words of Cocteau cause it kills the magical of sounds !

  • Yeah, for me their songs can be what you want them to be according to your own mood...

  • agree

  • Lorelei Lyrics

Can't look out, can't look in

    Can't kiss right

    Get yourself get right

Lift up your toes, in my mouth

We'll make love and we can go

  • brilliant!!!!

  • My fav song of all time. This is truly incredible. J'adore!

  • OMG !! I didn't have listen to this since 20 years !! So magic !! Reminds me the old good times of new Wave ... Hi from France !

  • this song is phenomenal!

  • and then some

  • Brilliant song. Takes me back to the good 'ol times when real music was made.

  • I love them and her voice!..<3 Cocteau twins

  • WOW! I actually had this back in the day. GREAT to hear it again. God I've missed them! Yep...goosebump music!!!

  • That fkn guitar.....SENSATIONAL!

  • inconmensurable

  • dont worry they got true credit by their public !

  • -Fantastic...Marvelous...

-Extrañamente etereo...El Corazón goza con el Tema...

-Die Liebe kann trotz nur Zuhörens dem zusammengefasst werden

  • Best track by a country mile from "Treasure". Stunning!

  • Cocteau is unique. Nothing like it before they existed or afterwards!

  • o my god

  • berri gud guatch dis pippol it is rilli asombrus

    saluds from uruguay, romualdo

  • Wow! I was looking for another song called "Lorelei" and found this instead. What a discovery! (Was this the inspiration for 808 State's "Europa"?)

  • Just bloody lovely!!

  • pure bliss.makes my day,thanks a lot.

  • Lindo sempre adorei cocteau!

  • shoegazeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • without without without a doubt

  • The drum beat is so simple, yet so infectious!!! It makes me think, "Damn, why didn't I come up with that!!" Cocteau Twins rule!!!

  • Watch "Marilyn's Treasure" on my channel!

  • guys guys! one of the quirks of this band was that her language was all made up! it was all mumbo jumbo, snippets of this and that, that was such an amazing thing, so trippy and creative. that's why the lyrics were never printed! everyone could make of the songs whatever they wanted!

  • sooooo hot!! I love it!

  • Listen to the bass during the bridge, it's trippy. It's hard to hear here though.

  • I like how she uses breathing as a vocal technique in this song. It's makes the song even more amazing and original.

  • Approximate lyrics:

Get off the car,Kick his chain, Kick his pride

    Get him soaked hit run

Lift up your toes, In my mouth

    And we can make love

    And we can go(x5)

  • Those aren't the official lyrics, those are just someone's take on what the words sound like. It's obvious that those aren't official lyrics as they make no sense.

  • You make me laugh. I make up my own lyrics too. From what I heard she does too, which is why they were never printed on the 4AD label.

  • ..makes sense to me; don't think i kicked his pride, but the rest......oh, hell yes!!!! And it was sooooooooooooooooooo good...

  • someone can make a translation thanks from ignorant france

  • "someone can make a translation thanks from ignorant france"

Well, no one really knows what she is saying.

  • This song was my FAVOURITE when I was a teen - so much so that I always promised myself that I'd name a daughter after it. I now have a 3 year-old named Lorelei!

  • @Maxiekiz

    That's just cool. : )

  • whats she saying isnt half as relevant as how she is saying it

  • Nice vid and great tune!

    The mythic Lorelei...

  • I love to fall asleep to Cocteau or Mazzy Star or Bell Canto or Clan Of Xymox. I love old 4AD groups.

  • Definately where Miki from Lush got her vocal style from. This would be a good band to copy. I want to get a drum machine now.

  • i wish i knew what she was saying, but i simply can't.

  • it can be whatever you want it to be. think of it as a work of art, you decide what it means...x

  • I can't agree more strongly with that sentiment, fredilexi!

  • perfect visuals for this very celestial song! great job on the video, 5 stars!!!

  • Programmed or live, this song has some of the best drum beats ever! Simple, yet so infectious!!!!

  • I've died and gone to heaven,

A perfect moment time and again...

Wow, how this song makes me feel has nothing to do with being mortal.

  • So right.

  • All good music does that. Songs like this make you know that music is one of the most important things in this world. It takes away the evils and cares in this world if just for a moment. I guess you could say music like this is heavenly.

  • This is my CTwins jammy. Check it on a good system sometime.

  • splendidly lovely in every way!

  • one of my favorite songs ever...

  • Man, this song is so damn trippy. I love it!

  • the first time i heard this i felt like crying, the best songs by the cocteaus always make me so happy i could wrap my arms around myself AND cry from sorrow and joy (and no i'm not a wussy, i'm an artist(musician)

  • covered by the sacred fire...cut me to, cut me to the bone...i know its a cliche, but liz is definitely transcendental...She takes me to a place not on this plane...makes me cry every time, tears of pure joy.

Close your eyes and forget about today, tomorrow and yesterday.

  • ridiculously beautiful.

  • fantastic song, singed from heaven or another place that we don't know.

    But she does.

  • Damn! Somebody tabbed my coffee again! Nah, nice video, seriously. This is one of the only CT songs I don't "get" though, somehow.

  • i have a feeling that liz's solo album will be comprised of all the duets she's done since separating from cocteau twins, such as with massive attack, craig armstrong, yann tiersen and god knows who else.

  • How much do the Cocteau's mean to me? Well I called my daughter Lorelei, after my favorite song!! Thanks freilexi

  • trippy song, the entire "treasure" album is money

  • Echo pavlik77. My mum died a few months ago, she was the only one out of my huge family who got the Cocteaus, and loved flowers! Cheers again, all the best to fellow music lovers x

  • Everything this group does is good.

  • This song makes me think of when i was dating the then govener of Illinois and then taking the

money he would give me to addition to paying my bills going and getting all messed up on drugs with my boyfriend..

  • I saw the Cocteau Twins in 1991 at Tulane University in New Orleans blasted out of my mind on hallucinogens....it changed my life. This song started off with a light display simulating a wave of water breaking onto the crowd...it was awesome.

  • I'm always struck dumb by the beauty of Liz's voice. It is a heavenly sound. Thanks everyone for posting the Coctaus and sharing the wonderful experience from their music with us!!!

  • This track always reminds me of Christmas

  • I am going to sing this at key stage 2 parents assembly infront of my daughter dolores

  • How did your singing at the parents assembly go?

  • I chickened out and sang "will you come to the mission" & "combine harvester my lord" instead. Dolores was not happy.....

  • it's a mind blower! When I first saw them play this live I went home and put my guitar in the bin because I knew that this song was perfection and no one would ever match it.

  • I hear this, and I'm back in my old college apartment swaying my loneliness away. I'm glad another generation gets to experience the beauty.

  • I named my daughter Lorelei Elizabeth in feb 1985 after falling in love with this track !

  • Sorry....the was " 1988 "
