I was there for this concert and it was probably the best I've ever seen. I remember everyone holding their hands up. It was a really special moment and he couldn't have picked a more perfect song to end with than when the saints go marching in. I loved that.
I was there too, and it was amazing. I actually read a review of this show by some writer from the LA Times, and he said that although he NEVER liked Springsteen (even the early Bruce), this was the single best set of music he had ever seen in 27 years of covering concerts. I would have to agree with him...
not ashamed to say I (and everyone...i mean EVERYONE)around us cried like babies during this song. Seeing this video still gives me goosebumps. You had to be here during "the thing" and see what it did to our homes and hearts to know the emotions we felt that day. Thank you Bruce....and you too taveanator. Asked yesterday (at the Fest) in the live recording tent if bruce had let the film shot that day be put into a cd or dvd, they said "he won't let them". How about it Bruce...
Thank you thank you thank you so much for this video. I'm from new orleans and this one of the best shows i've ever seen at jazz fest, or anywhere, really. ¡Viva New Orleans!

I was there. I am a deacon in my church and that is the most spiritual I have ever felt in my life

In my opinion this is one of Bruce's greatest songs.

Bruce as least showed some empathy for the people of New Orleans. Thanks, Bruce.

If you like Bruce's lyrics, watch "I Have a Dream in New Orleans." It is a speech about a nonviolent resistance movement in New Orleans.
