thanks for sharing, works perfectly. Do you have any idea how to show also RGB image in quartz like background, please ? I tried it through Kineme Kinect plug-in (synepse plugin quartz cant load at all in snow leopard) but looks like kinect is hooked in your tracker app. thank you
@marprochazka You can't run Synapse and Kineme Kinect at the same time, they both get a "lock" on the Kinect. I have an idea for something I want the RGB feed for, so I may release an update to Synapse soon with support for receiving the RGB image.
@awwbees yes you should!!! that would be sweet. Synapse and Quartz composer = awesome. Also I am wondering about multiple character recognition? Anyway thanks!
@choshi007 I think the Z coordinate when using screen_pos gives you a number between 0 and 4000 (or close to that) depending on how close the joint is. You could map the output from that Z value to do anything you want with a particle system.
@awwbees no but I'm using a circle so i want to emulate depth by changing the radius... what would be the math from starting with the structure index member connected to index 2?
hello, great work first of all., but I followed the instructions and install the plugins in the directory. No problem with osc and synapse app, but I can't find the kinect plugin in the patch library.
When I open the kinect test.qtz I recive this message: "QCPlugInPatch:Quartz_KinectPlugIn" is missing
could me the problem something related wth my QZ version (3.1)?
@lesserepiphanies That's strange, the problem only seems to occur on certain computers. I've heard of it happening to 3 people (including chickybooo who was able to get it to work on his other computer) but I haven't been able to figure it out. Maybe someone else who knows more about QC patches could help?
@chickybooo Hmm, I've seen it working on several computers, so I know it works for more than just me... I don't know very much about QC, though. Does the qcOSC plugin work for you? Both plugins should be in the same directory.

how do you get the z coordinate into a readable value for the particle system?

I have the same problem - the patch browser finds qcosc, but not synapse kinect. Both are in the same directory. Show stopper....

@awwbees
Working now! I had an old version of QC (v. 3 - it has a 'Patches' button in place of the 'Library' button.
Thanks so much for sharing your work and expertise. Time to go and do 'The Skeletor' for the next few hours. Yay!

Thanks for the video, but does this patch work for anybody else? QC can't seem to detect the patch Synapse patch in the library.
