I don't believe this is she playing because it sounds too professional for such a young-looking girl, and since we can't actually SEE her playing this, I doubt very seriously that it's she. These Asians are always posting videos saying their child is 4 and playing Chopin Impromtus and at the Olympics this year, they were cheating with gymnastics claiming the girl was 7 when she was 12. I mean they just lie, lie, LIE. The only way I'll believe this is the girl in the photo is if I SEE her play
actutually.i disagree with john. i totally sgree with you. i have seen 100s of asains playing chopins fantaise and his minute waltz and op 64 no 2 and this nocturne. and if u look closlely u can see a pattern, there all playing the same thing and at the same age. how the fuck can you play those pieces at 4, 5, or even 6 years old. i agree 100 perecent all the way
you mean it "sounds too professional for such a young-looking girl" maybe you've some prejudices about children's abilities. ANOTHER question is, if they are lucky to learn and do it without pressure. But I learned to know children who indeed have much fun to learn instruments very early - and children often learn much easyer than adults (also languages, for example)
I play this piece right now. I like this interpretation. I like the Asian touch which is different. My favourite pianists are Asian. To me they have a sparkling sound color and a more precission technique given over to every nuance and subtlety there is. My two favoutite pianists right now are Aimi Kobayashi and Yuja Wang. Asian women are friendly, beautiful, very intelligent and phenomenally gifted. No racism intended - just individual preference.
I'm learning this song rite now..and listening to this..makes it a whole lot easierr! I hope when i finish plaing this song...its JUST like your playing...this is just absoluetly amazing..and ur wat 8? im 12 hhaha :] but still this is ah-mazing..:D
You are entitled to your opinion and likewise I have mine which differs from you. Are you prettier or uglier than the next girl I see, is matter of my perception and you should know how you look yourself. You are flashing like a traffic light!!!
she won a composing competition i was in (she was in the younger catagory) which is shown on the child genius program tomorrow. Her composition wasn't that great if i'm honest (she won all the same so what do i know!)she's good on the piano though!
Young musicians giving each other high-fives from arcoss the pond, that is nice. I watched the "Child genius" programme shown on Channel 4. At one point, Aimee was sooooo tried that she put her head down on the keyboard. It is exhausting being a genius. Maybe Vivian and Sabrina and Aimee would meet one day!!
Coming from Benita, it is VERY high praise indeed!!! Benita is so supportive and generous to young musicians. Like the Chinese say, a good teacher is like the warm spring breeze that nurtures young lives.
If only she weren't so arrogant she would endear herself much more to a lot more people! Pity really.

quite nice, but tempo mistake
it's not 'bout rubato - learn to do or feel to do, the beginning is kinda wrong....with tempo...
poisonalien 3 years ago
I do agree that the tempo is off occasionally but overall this is a fantastic interpretation.

I saw a 50ish years old great Russian pianist (a piano professor) playing this song too!!! What a narrow-minded thought!!!

nah... narrow-minded , hah, nevermind, it's asian eng.
