Easiest Way to defeat "The Destroyer" in Terraria 1.1 without killing other bosses first

@JorrdKarrd then you are doing it wrong. I got my defense to 78 and did not loose more than 3 full hearts with my regen. I just used the flail over and over and took all the attacks. Did not even attack the adds as they got hit by the flail over time and I did not need the hearts.

TYVM! This is an AMAZING method. I used the same accessories as you... plus I used a regen potion and wired a heart statue with three seperate timers. Used an assault rifle. I literally never moved. Just stood on a platform shooting straight down. Amazing. TY TY TY.

Not the easiest way. Wall yourself completely and hold down the Dao instead of swinging it. I'm not sure if it's faster but it's FAR safer and you don't have to go chasing after hearts.

@imLIBERZz he upgraded it to a phasesabre. it looks exactly the same but it does crazy damage. to craft it, get a phaseblade and combine it with 50 crystal shards. :)

I just had to share this with someone...*deep breath* I just tried to fight the destroyer after several hours of prep, i summoned him and accidentally dropped my second mechanical worm (item used to summon him, only had two) after picking it up it went to my hotbar and i accidentally used it when trying to shoot the fuck out of him with my crystal storm. the item killed me because the destroyer had already been summoned, so two wasted mechanical worms and me left to go get more souls.

@kimera117 He have 60 armor, its pretty good amount, and he wasnt using iron skin potion, so get mytril or adamantite armor, and reforge your accesories to warding (4 armor) and you will have a pretty good defense to fight him, with dao of paw you dont even need to move, just click and hold the dao of paw with you, it will kill the boss and the little eyes he spawns and these will give you hearts, pretty easy :)

@PensiLed theres other methods, like for example i have yet to defeat any of the bosses of 1.1 (except the Wall) because i know i cant beat any of them yet, so im trying to find out weapons i need for each boss, for exameple i bet trying to beat the twins would be easier with megashark, but i need to beat this guy to get the soul for it. im also farming like crazy, got all the sets excluding the hallow because, like stated, cant be them.

@PensiLed u can reforge shacle and band of regeneration for cheap. with adamantite armor, ironskin potion, i could get 72 defense, without spending much money (watch?v=vn6FTYlv7yw). getting 60 defense is fairly easy.

@SparkleLP after u kill the destroyer, u can get megashark, and u can easily kill the other bosses (like in my other videos). i actually like, that these bosses are harder, coz i finished the original terraria in like 4 days, but i played this patch for like a week, before i could solokill all 3 bosses. i had more time, having fun. and they arent so hard either, if u know, what ur doing, u just have to farm more.

Im sure the Devs are going to balance out the exploit from the amounts of hearts for statues dued to the fact that it may be OP to them even though its just a clever invention from wiring and such.

Though the Heart statue exploit is not even the easiest one. Just let some sand fall on top of you. The sand will damage you about every second for 1 damage (with proper gear) making you invincible for about a second or so. The only thing that will damage you is the sand. That way you wont even need to move, use switches or health potions. That will work on every boss ;)

Though its just not as much fun hehe

before that, i tried to bury myself in sand, but it didnt work, coz most of the time, the boss was on me, and it damaged me for 30+ dmg (without defense gear), and not the sand.
