  • At the end when they shot the confetti, I got some! Woot! Haha I kept playing with it :|

  • @JustAnnissa Woot Woot - Glad you had fun at the show!

  • I saw these guys too Lumiere was my favorite, he reminded me of Fonzie from happy days =]

  • It's weird having the song shorter here than the original production. There are some differences of course but the sets here are just simply amazing! But I wish they had the light up steps like the original! Never the less, spectacular new production!

  • Technically it's not the "Broadway Production" if it's in Tennessee. It's the Touring Production or a Regional Production.

  • @inlovewithJLT Yes I know, but I wanted to make it clear that it wasn't some high school doing it when people searched for it.

  • @inlovewithJLT TECHNICALLY, just throwing this out there, a Broadway theatre is defined, as any theatre with seating capacity of 500 or greater, (off broadway 100-499 seats, Off off broadway 1-99 seats) so any Broadway theatre (professionally) doing a show, is a Broadway show regardless of its location. "Broadway" has just come to suggest all of the above in Manhattan. Realistically yeah ur right, technically though not so much

  • @alebenns Thanks!!

  • @alebenns I'd love to see some sources for this notion, because last I checked a Broadway Theater is defined by more than just its seating capacity.

  • @inlovewithJLT Feel free to check out any textbook regarding Technical theatre for your source, Or ask any professional stage hand with a college education in such a field, like myself.

  • @inlovewithJLT more specifically Broadway as we know know it got it's name from its location, and that nickname clearly stuck, it's that name that has then been used to classify other theatre's by making the standardized terms, Broadway, Off Broadway, Off Off Broadway. My only point was the mismatched use of "technically", and "realistically". Technically it is a Broadway show, But is it in the way that we actually associate it? No, so Realistically you are correct.

  • @alebenns I'm not denying that it's a Broadway show, I'm saying it's not a Broadway Production. It is not produced in a Broadway Theater which is a limited number of theaters in NYC's Theatre District.

  • @inlovewithJLT now were basically talking about the same thing, re read what I posted. The way you are talking about classifying a Broadway show/prod. is in fact the way we all do, myself included. However "Technically" speaking. Meaning against popular thought, yet still in fact a truth, any professional Broadway theatre meaning its size, is a Broadway prod. Does anyone rly think that? no, but according to the classification of such it is. my ONLY point was switch Technically with Realistically

  • @alebenns I understand your point perfectly, you just haven't convinced me of it. Telling me to look in any number of theatre books isn't citing a source which was what I asked for and did not receive.

  • @inlovewithJLT Well, AEA, Actors Equity Association, (the Union for professional actors, and stage managers) Developed the classification of Broadway/Off /Off Off, to determine a pay scale for its members performing in each,Which is further broken down by principle/SM (white contract) or ensemble (pink contract) it's an internationally used system. According to AEA, to be considered for a Tony award (separate topic), the production must be in a Broadway Theatre, in the NYC theatre District.

  • @alebenns Thank you. Are Non-Equity performers allowed to perform in Broadway productions?

  • @inlovewithJLT Depends on the agreement made with AEA, more often then not an agreement is made for "x amount of equity performers" and the rest being non union. A production is also aloud to cast outside of equity if it has gone through the casting process with union actors, and has not found desired performers.

  • @alebenns What about entirely non-eq productions? Because such tours come through my city's "Broadway" theater on a regular basis. Am I now to consider these to be Broadway Productions?

  • @inlovewithJLT oh I get what our saying, and no, it has to be a professional performance, meaning equity stage manager, (therefore its under some sort of equity contract) that is not "educational theatre" (because that may allow for equity s/m's and actors to work outside of an equity contract).

  • I so hope this place TPCA is a collage of some sort. If it is, I am deffinatly going
