lol it's amazing that even as a kid, the first time Garr makes easy work of you but when he reveals he's a dragon slayer, all of a sudden the prey survives.

I'll never forget almost dropping the controller after remembering the tournament match....then next thing you know, bam!

Garr was a terrible pushover in this fight, lol.

But you know, i think that was honestly the point. There was technically NOBODY in this game that was a match for Ryu's power. Everyone kind of made it a point to state that.

@RemiusTheAwesome Yeah, that's what I liked about this game, it didn't follow the same story template most rpgs do, I mean shit, you aren't even fighting to save the world in any way at all and you actually fuck it over in a way practically only for the sake of it (good reasons as to why you do so, but I don't want to spoil it exactly).

This song is probably one of my favourites, it fits the situation perfectly

@RemiusTheAwesome True that...try training up Ryu to be an AP tank. I did and at at level 50 he has just over 300 AP.... he can stay in Kaiser form the entirety or the Myrya fight.

The point seemed to be Garr realizing that her killed so many dragons only to lose to a kid.

Why? The kid was the only one that didn't hold back.

This song is so powerful. It just gives the perfect mix of the mood. Revenge, betrayal and sorrow. It's the end of the first half of the game after all. :P

There is something strangely...invigorating about this song. I don't know what it is. But that's what I feel when I hear it. But there's also a sense of sadness to it as well.

@roguegirl29 Maybe it's the main music theme of the game? It's easily my favourite tune (with it's variations) in whole soundtrack. Very neatly interwined with more vivid rhythm and battle-like instruments (trumpets and drums) as well as with some chimes at slower paced moments.

Im not the kind of person that says "this is the best [put something here] of all time!" all the time, but this game is the game I have ever played... Of all time... I still play it *.*

i first reached the point when i played it back in the day, back when I was about 11. After not having the drive to figure out the (now) simple puzzle with garr and the stone blocks, I finally reached this scene, and almost cried at Ryu and Garr duking it out again. The resulting scenes absolutely blew me away - especially when Ryu came to his senses years later as an adult. Epic moments followed suit :D

this battle music still gives me the shivers.

This music is kickass. Easily one of my favorite tracks in the BOF3 soundtrack. Too bad it's only played during one fight in the entire game, and that you never get to hear much of it in-game because Garr was so easy when you fought him in Angel Tower.

Breath of Fire III is one of my most awesome childhood memories. This game was, and still is, AWESOME.

@RamzaSilverburg Yes, and yes. This track is just WAY too awesome to not be a playable track in the Faerie Village. I also feel the same way about Donden, Conflict of Dragons, and the final battle theme... They're ALL epic and awesome as hell.

Just gotten past this bit on my PSP copy.. haven't played it in a while. I still remember when I was about 12 playing this, was shocked at the revelation and the fight too. Thought he'd pwn me :-P A very easy fight but it's so intense, because of your emotional attachment, plus the epic music!

Sweet. :) Glad you agree. ^^ But it seems that after all this time and especially now, their lacking in some areas. :( I don't know why, but I thought Super Mario Sunshine was so... boring compared to their other games. Same for Twilight Princess. Even Wind Waker and Galaxy I thought needed some work.

And it's surprising to think about all their concepts for their latest movies and how their actually particularly good. They just have other horrible stuff to back it up.. Like Bad taste in humor.

Almost. The Mother (EarthBound) series needs more love to for it's beautiful elements in it. :) Though it's a bit too dramatic and scary for a kid's game most notably by Nintendo. 0_o

Really, Nintendo is like the VG version of Disney...

This really was my favorite game, and I never even played I-II. It seemed to rival Wild Arms 1-2 back in the day really.

Another game with drama and blue-haired guys in it. :) One is a Dragon or a Human with Dragon powers, and they have guns. Awesome. ^^
