@DRP996 Just to clear this up. This isn't me doing any of the "dissing" It was people nearby. I agree that if you're not spinning, you're not trying hard enough, but this guy here backed up the entire pack through about 5 corners to try and drift the final one. Do stupid stuff when theres no one around, but not when you might take out another car!

Spun, yes trying to drift no. Its slighty harder to get a +400bhp car perform 100% than a underpowered car like an mx-5. And no, I don't drive a porshce, but I don't blame them for earning money and taking it on a track either. Don't know who is the biggests idiot here, the guy that is spending time filming on a trackday or the "idiot" spinning.

@uncleyanstan I'll admit the MX-5 is easier to drive on the limit than cars of higher power (400+bhp, I would know) But if you'd ever been on a trackday you'd know that you can't spend the whole time on track. Either your car will need to cool down, or you'll need a rest! Might as well watch the other cars drive round as opposed to just sit in the car!

Thats exactly what I experienced. I must have been the second fastest on track all day in the corners out of 30 cars, and i was using road tyres!!!!

No, I just kept to the right on the straights with my indicator on to let the faster cars past. As long as you let the faster cars past on the straights it's ok. But Snetterton does have some long straights so prepare to give those indicators a workout! The people that are really annoying are the people that are fast on the straights but slow on the corners. Last time an XJS was guilty of this. Fast on straights so couldn't pass it, but painfully slow on corners. Enjoy!

im hoping to do an open pit lane track day at snetterton this week...ive only got an 80bhp golf....doesn't mean ill be the slowest tho....all the gear but no idea indeed! haha

We did it in a 1.6 MX-5 and we're the slowest in a straight line but made up in the corners :) Have fun!
