  • tis a quick little car this VP, I remember seeing it light up beside my XR8 and pulling away (But to be fair the XR8 had my CBR blade loaded in the back!!) but it was still impressive.

    Lowvp, I've 2 new toys to run the 1/4, Perhaps time for a catch up once again?... another T&T night?...

  • No question aftermarket mods the turbo 6's kick arse. Thats why theyre so popular.. Theyre simply the cheapest cars to mod in Australia.

    Was in tunehouse Sydney the other day they had about 3 xr6t's and 2 f6's.. I think they had ONE holden.

  • Thanks. You should put that in the info. Nice time for the VP but that's an average time for the FG. The driver obviously stuffed the launch. A stock BA XR6 turbo pulls a low 14. The FG is easily capable of a low 13 with the F6 into the high 12's.

    I understand that where you come from, it may sound a little unbelievable. But you'll get used to it ;)

  • yeah tune only on a stock car running 300+ rwkw (apparently) how long will tht last? i was at the drags last night when i must admit a pretty tough f6 typhoon ran a 11.18 but next pss snapped the tail shaft i fell over backwards laughing so if u want to push a 12 sec pass through a stock car goodluck with reliability mate

  • How long will it last? Depends on many things but most importantly the tune. A bad tune can smash a 20k motor or factory motor alike. Tail shafts breaking? Big deal. Get a new one.

    You haven't been around modified cars much have you? Let me re-phrase that. You haven't been around modified powerful cars a lot, have you. That kind of power and torque will wreak havoc on everything that's trying to transmit it. Stock and modified components alike.

  • a stock f6 on a tune wont make 300+ rwkw on a tune period.. try bout 250-260

  • FG XR6 turbos are consistently being dyno'd at over 240rwkw stock. @ I know of have made 243rwkw and 247rwkw from the factory.

    FG F6 are consistently making 270+rwkw from factory. They have the turbo, fuel pump and injectors to make 300+rwkw, which the BF didn't. So tell me why they can't make the power?

    Simon at XFT's FG F6 made 283.4rwkw from the factory with 110km's on the clock. First tune netted 295rwkw and 580nm. He ended up with 307rwkw and 615nm totally stock, tune only.

  • Cat and dump and tune on 16psi made 333rwkw's. Mate, you're way off.

  • scotchfillet gets a thumbs up for me, a mate of mine who owns Xtreme Ford Tuning in perth got well over 300rwkw on a tune.

  • DDK8DL67, i'm not allowed to post URLS in a video comment, so i'm happy to email you several links to dyno runs of stock FG XR6T's, stock FG F6's, tune ONLY FG XR6T's and tune ONLY FG F6's. Those posting here have got it right, Simon from Xtreme Ford Tuning in Perth got 333rwkw on his FG F6 tune ONLY. Before the tune it was 285rwkw. Our club member from FPV Tickford Owners club WA did 12.6 in a 100% STOCK FG F6. Magazines have done 13.1 in stock FG XR6T and stock G6eT. I can prove all of this...

  • I dont know why so many people doubt the power output of the F6's.

    I mean; the R8s had been given a 1/4 mile time (what ever it was) and from what I've heard, they generally dont reach it; let alone exceed it. The F6's more often than not exeed their hp/torque ratings from factory and are usually faster than 13.1 1/4 mile - which was rated at by ford.

    With a tune, 300rwkws is a walk in the park for any decent auto shop,

  • tuners are quoting 285rwks as stock from factory in the fg F6 typhoon, it was also put up against the w427 by dont quote me but i think it was motor mag or something similar and the f6 was actually quicker over 400m

  • My BFII XR6 does 14.420sec @97.08mph no tune,

    so I agree that was pretty slow for a T.

  • difference? One is street legal one is NOT. My mum could launch that XR6T better than that bloke did. pfft.
