Dude a question please: Is this box the 1997 special editions where Lucas just improved the picture & sound & added in a couple deleted scenes?

Im just checking man, ive heard so much negativity about dvd versions of the originals being ruined, like Vader screaming when he kills the emporer or something & then Hayden Christensen showing up at the end of Return of the Jedi....???

@R3DHULK Hello to U. These are indeed the Remastered versions, but can't say if there are differences between the VHS Special Editions and these, because the DVD's came up long after them. Many people like the Original Theatrical ones, others prefer the Remastered. But, to be honest with U, it has been a long time since i sat down and re-watched any of the films, so i am not sure, regarding the specific details you are mentioning. Though i doubt Heyden's appearance on Ep.VI... Be Well, friend

@Rukaria5 Hello there. I was lucky to obtain this set from an eBay.co.uk auction, back in October 2010. Indeed, as you said, i checked a little while ago on Amazon.com & prices for all kinds of DVD Star Wars Trilogies have gone way up, that is amazing to say at least, i guess most weren't happy with the Blu-ray release. The Prequel Trilogy set i bought it Brand-New from zavvi.com (uk), that one is Region 2 (UK). Regards

@DARTHSIMOUS I actually managed to find this set last night for just $60 on Target.com, super excited. Still, the Prequel Trilogy remains very rare, can't find it anywhere for cheap.

@Rukaria5 Good. My advice? Be patient, you might get lucky & find the Prequel Trilogy at a reasonable price on eBay. I too were looking for some quite rare DVD's, and after long time & patience, i got lucky and obtained them. Cheers & Regards.

I was so hoping they'd have both the original and the Special Edition version in this set. And the same with the new Blu-Ray set, but Lucas seems to never wanna have the original best version in his DVD/Blu-Ray sets, the bastard.

He said many times in the past that the Star Wars Saga is quite the story of Darth Vader, and in adition of himself, because in the first years of his career, he was begging the big film studios to sell his vision, and now that he has become on of the biggest independent filmakers & producers, he has turned into the Dark >

@dvdreview1 Side. I also remember quite the same fuss, when the DVD Versions of the movies were going to come out, and people were waiting like crazy to swap their VHS to DVD's. No, i am not comparing Blu-ray to DVD, but as you accuratelly said, holding back special editions or exclusive extra features, is just for money-milking us. If i bought the Blu-ray set? No,sir, neither will i ever do, even double-dipping has it's limits. If he decides to make Episodes 7,8 &9, finally, then OK. Regards

Όχι, εννοούσα θα τις βγάλουν πολλοί στο eBay για πούλημα τις διάφορες εκδόσεις σε DVD που έχουν, για να αναβαθμίσουν την Star Wars συλλογή τους σε Blu-ray (έχω διαβάσει σε διάφορα forum πολλούς που περιμένουν πως και πως τόσα χρόνια). Αυτή είναι βέβαια προσωπική εκτίμηση, και πιστεύω ότι θα το κάνουν όσοι έχουν Blu-ray players (φυσικά) ή PS3, ή όσοι είναι μανιακοί με τα Star Wars και απλά θέλουν να προσθέσουν και τις Blu-ray εκδόσεις των ταινιών στην συλλογή

@tromahorror τους, ασχέτως ποιες εκδόσεις σε DVD έχουν αγοράσει. Για το Star Trek εννοώ γενικά με τον ¨κόσμο¨ του Star Trek, και όχι μόνο με μια μεμονομένη σειρά ή ταινία. Εξάλλου έχουν γυριστεί 5 σειρές και 11 ταινίες, πολύ υλικό δηλαδή. Μπορεί να ασχολούμαι αρκετά και με Star Wars, αλλά η τρέλα μου είναι το Star Trek, όσον αφορά γενικότερα το θέμα του Sci-Fi.

@DARTHSIMOUS Ναι ασχολοθμαι κυριως με τις ταινιες αν και περρισοτερο μοθ αρεσε η πρωρη που ειχε βγει το 1979 αυτην ηταν η καλυτερη οι υπολοιπες μεσα δεκαετιας 80.

@tromahorror Έχεις δει την Re-Mastered έκδοση της 1ης ταινίας? Εκπληκτική, θα έλεγα. Αν θυμάμαι καλά, επανασχεδιάσανε πολλά πλάνα με CGI (γιατί τότε χρησιμοποιούσαν ακόμα στις περισσότερες σκηνές μινιατούρες, για τα εφέ). Classic

Γεια σου φίλος, παρεπιπτόντος με λένε Σίμο (από το Συμεών), για να συστηθώ. Ευχαριστώ για το σχόλιο. Αυτό το Boxset το είχα χτυπήσει από δημοπρασία απο eBay.co.uk, βέβαια δεν πρέπει να ήταν φτηνό (αν θυμάμαι καλά, γύρω στα 22 Ευρώ, με τα σταλτικά). Μεταχειρισμένο το βρίσκεις, σφραγισμένο όπως αυτό πολύ δύσκολα (και ακόμη πιο δύσκολα αυτό με την κονσέρβα (Tin-Box). Αλλά επειδή βγαίνουν οι ταινίες φέτος σε Blu-ray το φθινόπωρο, πολλοί θα τις δώσουν τις DVD εκδόσεις τους (εγώ φυσικά όχι).

@tromahorror Υπόψιν ότι μόλις τελειώσω τα unboxings με τα σφραγισμένα, και στην συνέχεια βρω χρόνο, θα κάνω παρουσιάσεις και πολλά τα οποία τα αγόρασα ή τα χτύπησα από δημοπρασίες και ήταν είτε καινούργια και ασφράγιστα, είτε σε πολύ καλή κατάσταση (σαν συλλέκτης, δεν αγοράζω ποτέ σαβούρες, αλλά διαθέτω υπομονή και χρόνο, για να βρώ ακριβώς αυτά που θέλω). Παρεπιπτόντως, μήπως ασχολείσαι καθόλου με Star Trek?
