  • Such mastery! What words of wisdom would you have for a young studying the dittersdorf, and aspires to go beyond that?

  • my favourite bass concerto - i'm love in it :>

  • o.O

Wonderful performance, an absolute inspiration. It is leaps better than the Karr interpretation. This is the best Koussevitzky performance that I have ever heard.

On another note: My god, what kind of bass do you own? Does your fingerboard extend to an F?

  • @Mecinimi

I am very glad you like it so thanks for your kind comment! Gary Karr's version is just different and I have all the respect for him and all he's done for us, in terms of paving the road for the future solo bass players. You're right about my fingerboard, I just added an extension which allows me to comfortably reach an F. All my best wishes!

Mr. Rotaru, thank you for your response. My current instructor is a very faithful disciple of Mr. Karr's methods and his interpretation of this piece very closely follows Karr's. In all honestly, though, I do believe that your interpretation attains a purity and beauty that Karr does not give in his own version.

Do you teach bass? I would love to study under such a wonderful bassist if that was the case. ;-)

  • @Mecinimi

yes, I teach at Arizona State University

  • @bassocat un suono straordinario!!!grazie per la pubblicazione del video...
