Yes, it is historical, normal for the National Guard to be mobilized during a state's state of emergency. There are supposed to be state militia first and federalized soldiers second. Though it seems in past years they have become more under federal control.

No not very normal for tornado's to touch down but it has happened before. I lived in Mass. for 2 years, I think I recall one small tornado touch down.

Didn't like the look of that cell. Not a normal storm front for sure.

@onlyathought1 - u know that MA has been DAYS w/out pwr before!  Springfield is crowded, has had some issues w/ small amts of ppl looting and what-not but that's about it. Whenever pwr goes out in the cities whether it be an ice storm, nor'easter or micro burst -- ppl get restless and some cause issues but in a whole, New Englanders band together and take care of business. I appreciate your watchful eye and videos you upload. As far as tornados in Mass, yes we have them - a few a year but they are typically 0's and 1's. I went through one yrs back, they are loose and very localized, but not in the cities. Having 2 or 3 hit cities is not common at all. We have had much damage in our ice storms and micro bursts as well so we are no stranger to "clean up" and pwr loss. Yes, national guard helps with clean up. New Englanders would not let NG go too far.
